Management Team

 

Gary Henkel

CEO

Gary is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, growth and success. He brings thirty years of sales, marketing and executive management experience to WebCE. Gary held previous positions with MassMutual, IBM, Ceridian and Software AG. He has also been the founder or co-founder of several start-up companies.

Gary graduated from The University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.


Jennifer Haworth

President

Jennifer is responsible for managing and improving day-to-day operations vital to the creation and delivery of WebCE’s products and services.  Jennifer oversees all aspects of WebCE’s business development strategies, including sales, marketing, prelicense coaching, and compliance.  Prior to her 11 year tenure with WebCE, Jennifer held various sales and marketing positions with other Dallas-based high-tech and start-up firms.

Jennifer holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Texas State University (formerly, Southwest Texas State University).

Eugene Barnes

VP, Compliance and Operations

Eugene’s team insures that WebCE complies with the constantly-changing rules promulgated by the various regulators.  In addition, he manages our day-to-day operations to insure 24x7 delivery while complying with the AICPA’s SAS70© standards for data security and redundancy.  Eugene has over 20 years of compliance and operations experience within the financial services industry.

Eugene graduated from Texas Tech University with a BA in Business Administration.

 

Ricki Zieman

Vice President and Controller

Ricki oversees WebCE’s accounting, financial, personnel, internal control, and real estate affairs.  She is also the brand manager for WebCE’s CPA and tax preparer product line, APlusCPE®.  Her previous experience includes 7 years with KPMG Peat Marwick in their Auditing Group and an additional six years as Controller of The Merchant Accounting Group for FirstUSA/Paymentech.

Ricki received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas, Arlington. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Anne Shropshire, CLU

Director of Content

Anne has overall responsibility for WebCE’s course content.  Her publishing experience spans over 22 years in the financial services industry. Anne’s previous employment includes Manager of Titles for R&R Newkirk and Executive Editor with Dearborn Financial.  Anne has authored over 15 courses for insurance agents and financial planners.

She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio with a B.A. cum laude, English/Journalism. In addition, she has been granted the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Arthur Carvajal, JD

Executive Editor and Chief Legal Counsel

 

In addition to managing WebCE’s legal affairs, Arthur heads the creation of our insurance prelicensing content.  In this capacity, he manages the development of the course content -- general and state-specific – keeping it up-to-date and reflective of state insurance licensing exam outlines.  Arthur was previously employed at Kaplan/Dearborn for 10+ years. He began his career as a lawyer in private practice with Chicago law firms representing insurance companies.

 

Arthur has a B.A. in English and Journalism from St. Mary’s University and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is a member of the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators (SITE), the American Bar Association, the Texas State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.


Dan Tromblay, CLU, ChFC, FLMI

Senior Product Manager, PreLicense.com

 

Dan is responsible for WebCE Prelicense Training products. He has extensive insurance training and education experience; including authoring several insurance training/CE and life and health prelicensing courses.  Dan also has experience in teaching life and health prelicensing classes, and running his own insurance training company.  He was VP of Dearborn’s Financial Education Products division and most recently the Senior Agency Process Manager with Allstate, providing varied field support and training to the company’s producers.

 

Dan is a licensed life and health agent and also holds NASD registrations (Series 6, 63, 26). He graduated with a B.A. cum laude from The University of New Hampshire, in Political Science, Journalism.  He is also a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), The American College, and a Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC), The American College.

 


Don Shipp

IT Director

Don is responsible for managing the IT department at WebCE.  He oversees the team’s strategic direction, and advises company leadership of potential process improvements, infrastructure development and enhancements that support key objectives.  Don has over 25 years of experience, including 20 years at WebCE’s parent company, International Risk Management Institute (IRMI®).

Don holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Texas State University.


Julie Mendel

Senior Product Manager - Firm Element Services

Julie is responsible for managing all aspects of the firm element product line including business-to-business sales, account management and content development. Prior to joining WebCE Julie managed continuing education libraries for other firms within the securities industry as well as working in the legal and regulatory environments.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Administration from Central Michigan University.

 

Ryan Marlow

Director of Support Services

Ryan manages WebCE’s support functions for all product lines, including customer service, prelicense coaching, corporate sales and marketing support.  He has been with WebCE for over 10 years.

Ryan holds a Bachelors Degree, cum laude, in Business Administration from University of Texas at Dallas.

 

Sandra Stipp

Chief Editor

Sandra leads our team of editors and developers who are responsible for deploying and maintaining WebCE’s 175 courses.  She brings over 20 years of experience in corporate technical writing and course editing. In addition, Sandra taught composition and technical writing at the college level.

Sandra holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Letters from the University of Oklahoma at Norman and a Master’s Degree in Technical Communication from Oklahoma State University.
