WebCE now offers CFP and PACE CE credits for many of its Insurance CE courses.
For just $10 more per course per certificate WebCE will issue you a CFP or PACE
CE certificate in addition to your Insurance CE certificate,
as well as report your hours directly to the CFP Board or the American College.
What are the steps to receiving CFP or PACE credit from WebCE?
1. You must first pass the course exam for Insurance CE as required by your
state with a 70% or higher.
2. Your payment to WebCE for the CFP or PACE certificates must be received.
3. You will need to provide WebCE the information necessary for us to report
your CFP hours. (PACE hours are reported by the individual.)
Do I have to purchase the courses for Insurance CE credit before I can order a CFP or PACE certificate?
Yes. To be eligible to order CFP or PACE certificates for WebCE's courses you
must first purchase them for Insurance CE credit.
Is a separate exam required for my CFP or PACE credit?
No. You are only required to take a course exam once for your Insurance CE
credit. Once you pass that exam and your payment for CFP or PACE certificates is received,
we will issue CFP or PACE credit for the completed course.
How do I purchase my CFP or PACE certificates?
Your CFP or PACE certificate order will be a separate charge from your Insurance CE
order. Simply fill out the Additional CE Credit Form and send it with payment
to WebCE via mail or fax. WebCE accepts credit cards, check or money order
for payment of your CFP or PACE certificates.
Who reports my CFP or PACE CE credits?
WebCE will report your CFP credits to the CFP board, however, you are responsible
for reporting your PACE hours to The American College by completing the
PACE RECERTIFICATION STATUS FORM that will be sent directly to you from The
American College.
When will my CFP hours be reported to the CFP Board?
WebCE reports electronically to the CFP Board every two weeks. The
same date of completion will be recorded for both your CFP hours and your
Insurance CE credit.
What is the CFP Board's CE requirement?
Holders of a CFP designation must report 30 hours of CE each reporting period.
This period is the same as the licensee's renewal period, a two-year
period ending with the last day of the renewal month. Two of the 30 hours
must be earned from a pre-approved CFP Board "Code of Ethics" and/or
"Practice Standards" program.
Can I carry CFP or PACE hours over to the next reporting period?
No. Hours in excess of the 30 hours required for the reporting period may
not be carried over to subsequent reporting periods.
How do I become a CFP if I don't already hold the designation?
Contact the CFP Board by going to
http://www.cfp.net. (For more information,
you may call 1-800-487-1497.)
What is the PACE Recertification Program?
The American College adopted a continuing education program for Chartered Life Underwriter
(CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designees, titled Professional
Achievement in Continuing Education (PACE) in July 1989. Now known as the PACE
Recertification Program, it has been expanded to holders of the Registered Health
Underwriter (RHU), Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), and Charted Leadership
Fellow (CLF) designations. Under PACE, participants must meet CE requirements every 2
years, with the current reporting period running from January 1, 2004, to December 31,
2005.
What is the PACE Recertification requirement?
A total of 30 hours of continuing education is required each reporting period, regardless
of the number of designations earned.
