California does not reciprocate with any state for adjuster licenses. To obtain a California independent adjuster license, you will need to:
- Pass the California State Exam: California requires you to pass its own specific exam to obtain a license, regardless of your other licenses.

Public Adjuster
California will issue licenses to public insurance adjusters who reside in states that do not license public insurance adjusters. Such individuals must meet all of the licensing requirements of a California resident public insurance adjuster to designate California as their home state. The Insurance Commissioner may require such other documents as will aid in determining whether the applicant meets the qualifications for a license.
