Designed For:
Adding additional credit may change exam requirements.
Allow user to read and go at own pace orator very slow
I didn't like the AI voice narrator or having to click so many times to advance the program.
Too slow. Speed it up. Give a control. Not everyone is slow.
CFP Board CE's have always been more difficult to use than others.
I found the audio to be very helpful. Initially I felt the audio was too fast, but once I adapted, it was very helpful in grasping the material. In addition, I felt this course was much more beneficial than the in person ethics classes that I have attended.
a few typos in the presentation as well as the table of contents on the left.
I don't like that I couldn't read the material myself, instead it was on auto-play. I also don't appreciate that I have to take this survey before I can take the exam or that I have to take it at all. A little compulsory don't you think?
There needs to be a way to speed up the talking. Also, it is unethical in my opinion to force a CFP on an ethics course to complete a survey before the exam is given. There is no way ethically to complete this survey in advance, because it is asking if the material prepared me for the exam. How would I know until after I take the exam.
Don't make me watch whole videos of people reading words that I can read much more quickly. If you MUST, then allow me to adjust the speed of the playback. Excruciating.
it would be nice to have more videos and be more interactive than just listening to a program.
It was too slow. I would read and understand all of this in 45 minutes.
The oral presentation was too slow. Should be able to speed up
I think that open book tests are better than not. Not everyone has a great memory.
It would be better to outline the lineage and sinews of the various CFP Standards (where due the Duties fit, where does the Financial Planning Process fit, versus the Investment process, etc.). I think that would be helpful as context.
No Auto play feature lots of verbal information vs a balance of text and visuals
Course did not save progress on exit. I had to spend another hour listening to same material.
I found the voiceover confusing when it differs from the written on-screen information.
Recording moves too slow. Written PDF would be better.
I would have liked to be able to read the content on my own rather than waiting for the verbal timing, as it was slower than I can read on my own.
I really struggle with renewing my CFP each year. This echoes the insanity the CFP thinks they are. I feel they give conflicting concepts more and more - it's really quite ridiculous
It would have3 been better to have a practice exam
Some spelling errors, but easy to follow and video with transcript is helpful.
Only negative was after reviewing the course, switching to Survey and Exam part was either delayed too long our there was insufficient guidance to exit to that portion of course. This was an EXCELLENT course. The use of differnet font sizes and highlighting or bold print, the colors, the videos, the focus on materials to aide CFP practitioners in the field via all the resources in paper or web access format. Made it more understandable and easy to remember. Tjhanks!
The only things I found useful were the guides offered by the CFP Board and case studies. There were two times that the course just stopped and had to be closed and reopened
The timed conversation is really overkill. We can read every word without having to listen to it. I also got through learning objective 4 then had to do some family activities and when I came back it bounced me back to 2. Very time consuming when the commentator talks so slowly and no way to bypass and read the content without leaving videos running.
Most of the introduction was unnecessary and a waste of time. The video in introduction was good. Being forced to listen to each and every preliminary statement about what we would learn was discouraging.
The arrows that pointed to financial advice and financial planning were not accurate
The AI robotic voice was excrutiating. I would have preferred to read silently to myself. Thank you.
I don't need an AI read syllabus to get through this material. If you are really concerned about application of the principals, require testing at the end of each module that would allow for review if needed.
Disliked the inability to regulate speed of program
Would prefer to read than be read to
I learn and retain information better by reading instead of listening. Please provide that as an option.
the format required too much clicking NEXT. the info should be fully controlled by the student. the AI commentary was very slow
I don't see why. we are not able to read the decks ourselves and/or speed up the rate of how the presneter reads.
A.I. voice was mostly realistic, but some incorrect inflections detracted from the learning.
it kicked me out near that end and I had to start over from the beginning. very frustrating.
I was almost done when I temporarily lost internet during the course. When the internet returned a minute later the program seemed to be stuck (spinning wheel of sorts). So I had to close it out and re-launch. It asked if I would like to resume where I left off and when I said yes, it took me only to part 2 of 6, requiring me to go through most of the course all over again. I eventually realized I could at least click to the end of the progress bar on each slide, but it was still really frustrating Otherwise the course was quite good.
While this was very thorough it is exceptionally difficult to stay focused and keep attention with how slow moving the audio is - this must be able to speed up. More interaction would be helpful and having the slides read aloud and slowly is disruptive to the learning process - we can read what is on the slide. If other details are needed, then those can be on audio. More interaction would be helpful when the program asks questions rather than just telling the answer later.
Antiquated narration. Would be helpful if the data conveyed in the narrative was also contained on the slides.
Too repetitive, boring and non-interactive. The practical applications were the best part - the course could use more of those.
OVERALL VERY EFFICIENT AND EASY TO NAVIGATE. HOWEVER I DO THINK IT TOOK LONGER THAN NECESSARY.
The slow talking AI voice feels like it added a lot of time to this training. I can read it quicker to get the needed information...
I didn't like the program forcing me to listen to the presentation. I learn better by just reading, and can advance at me own pace.
To many blank spots at the end of each segment. You just wait for the thing to scroll to the end with no verbige or content. Wastes peoples time
The video content was too slow ... took longer to watch than 2 hrs I dislike courses that read to me ... the audio should be an option, not a requirement
Having to manually page through the entire presentation was annoying.
The ethics was way too long and need a shorter one with more quizzes.
Appreciate could read, listen or both. At the end when we could click on the links to "The Roadmap, the FAQ's, Case Studes, etc." it kicks one out of the course and one must start up again. Perhpas better to give the url that we could copy and paste and use...... although we can find at your website. Thank you much.
The CFP board needs to not have an AI generated voice read the content to you. Also, some of us need to hear content at a faster pace. I felt like I was listening to a southern robot speaking slowly and made it difficult to keep my attention. Adding the toggle function to listen a little faster helps my brain in particular with listening and comprehending. I’m not asking to skip content. I’m just asking to have the option to hear the content at a pace that my brain needs.
This audio could have been played at a faster speed and still be effective.
This was very informative. In reality this course took far longer than 2 hours and that’s not including time for the exam.
Tighten up the end of each slide. Some had 10 seconds or more before allowed to hit "next"
For 2 CEs this took over 3 hours
I was not able to backtrack to review parts of sections I had already viewed without then having to go through the entire section, in order.
Would be nice to have an option other than auto read
It could have used an interactive quiz to test knowledge as you go, or videos demonstrating CFP certificants who are or are not adhering to the Codes and Standards.
I like to speed up content when watching/listening so perhaps providing some options to do that.
I went back to view a slide and i could not start at that section. I was half way through the material. I had to go back to the begginning of the course and slide the content to the far right and click next.
Speed up needed
straight forward format
can we not just get a transcript?
similar to firms CE so easy to navigate and informative and digestible information.
this course is an improvement from over the years past which included lots of legalese and extremely detailed which is hard to memorize
I disliked the monotonous tone of the robot reading the material.
Would have preferred an option to read on my own vs listening to the information.
The AI voice was very dry.
When using a phone to listen and view, if you turn it sideways on an iphone you lose the ability to advance forward.
It seemed to me that the course was a a little dry in presentation, but definitely more than adequate.
Finishing the content and then progressing to the survey was not intuitive. After completing of the training, the survey should have been brought up automatically. I went through the course material multiple times. Furthermore, work should automatically saved.
The AI voice makes this painstaking. It is significantly harder to pay attention/retain the information ahead of this quiz.
The videos are always very helpful.
The AI generated VO was clunky in cadence, and occasional pronunciation, that I had to go back and review certain moments to understand what was said. Mostly worked fine.
Hard to listen for two hours
Couldn't clearly read some of the slides
being forced to step through this at such a slow pace was frustrating. i read very fast and couldn't speed this up as in other videos.
I would rather read the information instead of having it read to me. it took longer than 2 hours.
Need to be able to continue the course when not on the front of the screen. While I'm listening, there's nothing to look at so there's not a need for the screen to be on top.
The program didnt save my progress and I had to do it 2x
some of the pronunciation was incorrect and difficult to understand
computer narrator was monotonous. I think the newer tech could do better in keeping someone's attention.
I did not have any audio for the program.
There was too much repetition of the material, we could have covered all of it in half the time
I would like the option to speed up the audio.
The course took too long and it lost my place a few time causing me to have to go back again.
I lost internet connection at one point. Unfortunately, that caused me to have to restart the content. Fortunately, it happened 15 minutes into the program. That problem needs to be corrected.
The only improvement from my perspective would be to allow the user to answer the True/False questions throughout the learning objectives.
Not sure when exam will be Presented!
presentation was very redundant
Course felt too long. A lot of repetition for relatively straightforward content.
Appropriate amount of time on each topic. Done well, and very fair amount of time and not cumbersome /easy to capture and retain information.
Please use something other than an AI voice. It was extremely frustrating to both try to interpret (because inflection and pronunciation were all over the place), but also to know that a voice actor lost a job to technology. And add an option for faster audio. I listen to books and podcasts at 1.5x all the time and this was painfully slow.
I like to read and this was a forced listen which took to long.
Fix this issue of allowing the student to remain in the Course Window and CFP material while being logged out of WebCE over time. Therefore not logging your progress in WebCE. Then when you finish, webce does not acknowledge your progress and you have to redo everything because it was logged out and you had no idea
I know you have to provide a timed course to satisfy the hours, but for some of us who have spent years doing these CE courses, it becomes painful to sit through it :)
WAY TOO LONG OF A VIDEO TO COVER THAT INFORMATION. WE CAN ACTUALLY READ…
The course took longer than 2 hours to play!
A boring and way too wordy exercise of CFP self-promotion.
I don't need the content read to me
I don't like that we couldn't speed up the playback.
The recorded voice narrative did not match the script on the slides, which was so annoying that I found myself pausing the audio, reading the slice, then continuing the audio, to make sure I didn't miss anything. Really frustrating.
The material was good - the AI reading the course content was super annoying! forcing us to listen to a computer mispronounce words and with weird non-human inflection for 2 hours is cruel and unusual punishment! And the program glitched out a couple of times, causing me to exit and resume more than once.
Very academic and difficult to maintain attention. Might be helpful NOT to use AI... Real voices with real examples would allow participants to connect with the material.
Having some activities / parts of the CE read to me are fine. Having the entire CE read out wasn't necessary. I see how it is very accommodating to everyone but give me the option to read through it on my own. Questions - let them be interactive during training.
I really enjoyed the course overall. The only issue I had was with the videos and illustrations on my computer. I wasn’t able to enlarge the screen or zoom in properly, so the content appeared very small and strained my eyes after a while. I eventually had to switch to my phone to view it more comfortably. It would be great if there were an option to enlarge or zoom in on the videos and illustrations when using a computer. Other than that, everything was excellent.
the ai reading was very robotic
got mostly through the course and it didn't save properly, so I just had to go in and re-tread a lot.
material and presentations are too long winded. repetitive points. could be more succinct.
videos had issues loading and playing
treat us like 3rd graders, spend a lot of time on simple concepts, for example do we really need 20 minutes on financial advice vs financial planning. in the real world there are no lines, you are giving advice and being a fiduciary 100% of the time
It was slow, repetitive, monotone, and technologically obsolete.
I wish there was a faster way to do this. Waiting for the audio to finish before moving is slow. Reading it would have been much faster. Also, for people like me who do better reading rather than listening - the option to read at our own pace would have been better.
Course material is well done. Speaking as someone with many years of experience, forcing someone to have to sit and listen for a long period of time is frustrating and very boring. Treating us like kids in pre-school!
It would be helpful to have 1.25x replay speed.
The Narration was very robot-like and computer-ized. the Emphasis is constantly on the wrong Syllable. Thanks.
Allow for 1.5 or 2X speed of audio
There are too many slides with delays at the end before you can hit the next button.
I did have problems loading this on a different device.
Your course says it's interactive but then the course answers the questions and the case studies itself. That's not really interactive.
The content was dry. Just a person reading from a book
The video "voice" was digital. A human voice is preferred.
Didn't love the quiz formats
Please don't provide videos where the content is read TO me. I can read it myself.
I dislike needing to listen to the audio before hitting next. I'm capable of reading and would prefer to do so at my own pace vs. being forced to listen to the audio.
id rather read and not be forced to listen to audio
too long and slow
The format to have to click through every single slide will prevent me from using WebCe in the future
the time it took was too long, I would consistently finish reading the powerpoint and I would need to wait 30 seconds plus in order to go to the next slide
The voice presentation was very monotone and boring to listen to.
Speed it up!
Please allow us to speed up the speaking. It's horrendous as someone who consumes information quickly. I struggled to actually pay attention.
browser window is too small--difficult to read. Using Safari on Macbook
I can read faster than the video was playing. I should be able to read the transcript or speed up the playback. It's otherwise wasting my time.
The CFP required Ethics course takes too long. For example, there are slides that have only a few words and it takes 1-4 min to advance to the next slide. Putting in time for the sake of time is silly. Cover the info and move on.
Very thorough coverage of the topic. Would have liked to be able to move through the content more quickly.
length of time could be shorter
I personally prefer written information so the transcript in addition to the video was helpful to me as I absorb written word better.
The robo voice was not helpful. I silenced it and read through the transcript, which was quicker and more effective. The robo voice's attempts at normal diction were strained at best. A real voice would still be much better at this stage of the technology.
Course was a little long and the computer dialogue was a little sloppy. But otherwise educational.
would have preferred to have test my knowledge questions along the, mini quizzes to help me integrate my learning.
I had gotten to the end, but for some reason it didn't save my spot, so I had to start over from very early on and repeat it. Very frustrating.
Some information repeated too much. Intro and conclusion too long. Otherwise good.
no closed captions
I can read the transcripts at roughly 4x the speed of the narration. The narration slider made each slide take way too long to deliver the material. Not all of us are auditory learners.
Liked both visual and audio were available.
Need something other than a computer generated voice
There's no reason that this needed to be a video versus having the ability to read content and go at my own pace. Frustratingly slow.
The autoplay should not read the lines
All of the CFPs in the examples were men. Feature women! The AI voice sometimes pronounces names (for example, Malik) differently throughout; this is distracting.
to manually click next on a small button each topic 15 seconds is very cumbersome.
slow auto play and redundant
the slow pace of the required videos made this course twice as long as needed
I wish there was time 2 speed. I'm still in university and I watch everything on times 2 speed. The speaker talks extremely slow. Having the option to increase the speed would be wonderful.
I would have liked to be able to listen to the program at 1.25x or 1.5x speed. These options were not available
'Did not like that I had to listen to the person speak. It took too long to take this course when I have been practicing for 20 years. I could have read through the material and passed test a lot quicker.
The format wasn't great for people who aren't auditory learners.
I can read the slides faster than the video progresses; the verbal explanations aren't super helpful, but that's probably due to my learning style where reading/doing are more effective. It just reminded me of being in a meeting where someone is reading a powerpoint slide and not adding anything to it
Too long for 2 hours
I wasn't a fan of the voice of the presenter. Maybe different sections could be taught by different people
The narration was monotone and mechanical. This made it difficult to focus.
The verbal extends this way longer than it needs to be.
I liked having the audio available rather than reading the course.
It would be nicer to be able to read the information then to listen to some one talking put me asleep.
This took MUCH longer than 2 hours
When you are forced to listen to a slow, mono-tone narration of course materials you find yourself nodding off, daydreaming and not paying a attention. I would have gained more by just being able to read it and learn it at my own pace.
I am a visual learner. Forcing the audio is way too slow for me
I wish WEBCE can correctly save my progress, I had to start all over again and it won't allow me the skip to where I left off
The AI voice is very monotonous.
Too much time on the slides required than it took to read. Overall, good experience
The voice in the course sounded like AI - very monotone. Using a real person with natural emphasis and inflection while talking would be more engaging.
I didn't like having to listen to the content. I could go through it quicker by reading it.
You would think with all of the money collected between CFP dues and CE costs that you could hire a human to present the course instead of AI. The AI cadence is weird and difficult to follow.
Options to play videos at higher speed would be greatly appreciated. Some of us maintain focus better if it isn't slow.
The bot talks in run on sentences. A lot of clicking.
Listening to an AI voice when we pay a ton in annual fees for our CFP designation is . . . lame. Hire a voice person or two and present this as a more professional organization.
I would like for the videos to be able to run at faster speeds. I am a fast reader and generally listen to videos at 1.5x the available.
I really dislike having material read to me when I can read it myself. Having to wait until the material is read out loud prolongs the course unnecessarily.
The only complaint I have is the robotic reading of the material. I don't like robots. The entire time it felt as if I were banging my head against a wall.
The Exit button could be larger or more prominent.
Very educational course. Would recommend. Presenter's voice was a little robotic.
I think the length of this CE was brutally long in time required. Not a time efficient presentation of the material.
its way too slow
Reading out loud is too slow. Not everyone learns this way.
Some of the links to the CFP were not linked. The Roadmap was but the others were not linked even though the material said they were linked.
Would like to be able to speed up the playback.
I severely disliked the fact that this course used an AI voice to read the written material at me and wouldn't allow me to advance until the AI voice was finished. It's difficult for me to tolerate AI reading because the inflections are all wrong and my mind focuses on that instead of the material. I would prefer audio to be offered as an OPTION to people who need it, but also give me the option to read at my own pace. I would also appreciate more knowledge checks throughout the course so I can be confident I've internalized the information I need to know for the exam.
The content was fine but the slides sounded like a computer or AI voice.
tighten up the length of the videos. there are a few seconds wasted at the end of each video. course is too long.
I did not like that every slide was timed. Most of the information could be read in less than half of the time of the timer. It took my 5 hours to complete what should have been a 2 hour CE. And I still have to take the exam.
The forced pacing with video snippets that don't auto play or allow you to move forward when you're done reading is not my favorite way to learn.
Thorough but question why all the different aspects of definition for the board of standards. I don't know how that is relevant to providing guidance to clients to memorize so.
Too long, we would be better served by going through the case studies and learning about the principles in a real life scenarios. This was long and boring. I am not sure I retained the presented information.
Each slide had "dead" time at the end which took an additional 3-5 seconds to end the slide in order to move forward. One slide took over 10 seconds. With 113 slides, it took an additional 9 minutes to wait for the ability to move forward in the presentation. Please edit to remove the extra "dead" time. It would be greatly appreciated.
It would be nice to be able to adjust the speed at which the course is delivered. At times it was long. Also, would be nice to have interactive questions and allow participant to answer before answer given/explained.
The content was presented in a way that didn't have enough interaction - lots of just listening for two hours straight & clicking through in very short segments got pretty monotonous after awhile.
Too many clicks - distracting
Very dated. Too much dead space. Overuse of B-roll. Poor narration. I like learning and listening to good teachers but this reflects poorly on CFP Board.
Presentation is a bit monotonous, could be updated using current technology for visuals and especially for sound.
Make it so that I can speed up the audio, the voiceover speaks very slowly.
The knowledge checks can be improved. You ask a question, but don't provide an option to select an answer. It would be more helpful to be able to answer the question and see if the answer is correct.
I would like the option to play the video at 1.5x speed.
slowwwwwww paced material
a little buggy when i had to take a break.
The video format for every, single, slide, was a waste. Poorly done. Apologies for the honesty.
One slide regarding Duty of Care mixed up the order of the words "Financial Advice" and "Financial Planning".... The electronic/artificial reading of the text (as opposed to a human reader) was functional, but not very appealing.
It is a good review of the material, but sometimes the material is informative, but boring.
there was an unnecessary time gap at the end of each section.
Course was good and reinforced critical elements of the CFP Board's Code and Standards.
It was not intuitive to "Exit" the final page of the course in order to access the Survey and Exam. There should be a more clear "Exit to Continue to Survey and Exam" radio button.
You should be able to read the course at your own pace.
The digital voice used in this course is absolutely awful. It's use of infection and tone is horrendous and grating and hard to understand as it is not natural. Please use some of our money to hire a human to narrate.
Too slow
Please stop using AI voiceovers. They make the content so incredibly difficult to listen to.
This was a very long course!
Some of the readings were too long, wordy and slowly read
The course was excellent
This needs to be re-recorded with a better AI voice. It was so mechanical, mispronouced words, enunciated poorly. The whole listening experience was boring due to the mechanical voice.
Too long for 2 hours of credit
The links in the course take you out of the course in the same tab. It would be helpful if they opened a new tab so that you don't have to resign in to the course to continue
This is far better than past ethics courses that I've taken. The case studies and real world examples are very helpful.
The AI voice that was presenting the content was awful, it's not that hard to use a real person
Too wordy. Simplify material.
The course seemed a little long from start to finish but it was very thorough.
I am very used to being able to review all the learning information at my own pace via text. The organization and presentation of this course was excruciating for me. Not showing all pertinent information on slides and waiting for the automated voice to cover the details was not conducive to my intake and retention
Students should be able to download the course and read it without having to be logged in. A PDF of course content to study from...
soooo long
Given it was a 2 hour CE, it took me a lot longer to complete!
I hated the timer. I would read quickly but have to wait for the timer on each slide.
course was way too long and hardly actually touched on ethics if at all. i have taken a lot of ethics courses in my 30+ years in this business and this is the worst one i have ever taken !
Too long, needs to be shortened.
Videos too slow for content within
It would be nice if a real person read the material we are required to watch. The computer gets hard to follow after this amount of time.
LONGER THAN 2 Hours
Very Thorough and easy to follow
Wow, brutally long and no ability to speed up the slow talkers like any other platform would allow. Painful
The process of going through the material is redundant and takes entirely too long. I imagine the time spent is required by the CFP for some reason, but it is wasteful and repetitive in my mind.
The system kept kicking me out or not saving my progress. Have the time I was staring at a screen that had nothing to do with what is being said. There's got to be a better way to make this less boring. Examples are the best way to drive home a topic
Need an option to speed up content delivery. Some sections took too long to get the point across.
COMPLETE AND THOROUGH COURSE - I WANTED TO GO FASTER THAN ALLOWED BUT THE FORMAT FORCED ME TO GO THROUGH TTHE MATERIAL COMPLETELY.
Having to listen to the computer voice read every section was incredibly slow and annoying. I would have absorbed the material much better if I could have read it at my speed. I would not recommend this program despite good overall material because of the delivery mechanism.
I dislike having content read to me on each slide without being able to forward to the next slide.
This course did not allow you to speed up the talking so you could get thorugh it faster, took WAY to long.
Some of the explanations were very redundant making it longer and more boring.
Good course as always
I learned so much and enjoyed!
Sounded like a computer reading the information. A better "voice" presentation could improve presentation. Thanks!
more case studies would have been helpful
I have been a CFP since 1993. i have studied several times the 2019 changes. I did not learn anything new but had to spend 2 hours going through the course material. It would be great if there was a "test out" option in future for those who are long time CFPs.
A.I. generated narration was awkward at times and somewhat distracting.
Having to listen to every slide with nothing to read on our own is NOT ok for reading learners.
Honestly so much of the material is basic and repetitive from many years of being a CFP professional. It could have been more concise- perhaps even more testing to see which areas did not need review
The questions are not interactive to answer & score during the reading material.
Get rid of the AI voiceover and allow the content to be sped up a little
The length was way too long for the amount of information being communicated
Other WebCE courses have been fine, this one was obnoxious in the timing of the slides making you wait way to long before being able to advance to next slide and no option to speed it up to a normal pace.
I think it would be a little better if the knowledge check questions were more interactive, rather than given the answer
too long
This was way too long. There should be an option to speed up the talking if we cannot skip it. Very aggravating. Then, at the end, it said I hadn't completed it and I had to call. Not a fan
Way too much clicking required. Some segments were just a few seconds long. Very annoying
Not helpful to have a person reading everything on the slide. I learn best by reading at my own pace
You should allow participatns to speed up the video b/c I felt it was too slow but others may not agree. Each person should choose their speed.
The course is difficult to view on my IPhone 17.
Some of the language explaining the obligations of a professional were a little vague in expressing the seriousness of punishment in terms that may be somewhat misleading. It might help, also, to show some statistics of how many CFPs do get into trouble.
Course was very professionally presented. No changes recommended.
The material was a clear and fairly concise. A couple of times, I had to wait for the page to load.
the AI narration is bad, pacing is ENTIRELY TOO SLOW
the monotone audio was difficult to discern breaks or deviate in topic discussions. it was way too long and the resources guide section was unnecessary. being able to adjust speed of audio would be a nice additional feature.
Please look at the color of background and lettering. Ass a senior, it was difficult to read any of the typed word within a darker colored background. If you are using a dark background, use white letters.
overall was decent but took a long time for things to play through it seemed for the video
The required listening is so demanding that it forces people to ignore it and do other work while it's playing. It's just too much!
Good and comprehensive program.
Less video.
Videos where actors or others are talking is more interesting
Having to sit through the entire course on video, made worse with an auto-generated voice, was a big waste of my time.
I appreciate that there was audio, but the narration was difficult to listen to for 2 hours. It was very robotic and dry. The inability to speed up the audio was also a negative for me.
A human voice would be more engaging than a machine for a 2-hour session.
The AI voice was difficult to listen too because it was so much like a computer.
The worst classes I have taken from Web CE, I understand that it is provided by the CFP board and not a reflection of WebCE. Can not control pace, have to click after waiting after each spoken section, technical issue said I did not finish the training that I had to reach out to webce to correct.
This course would be better suited to my learning if I could speed up the audio by at least 2X. It goes very slowly and that makes it harder to stay focused, for me. There is also several seconds at the end of each audio that should be eliminated. You do provide quality content and easy to use technology.
i would like more interaction through out the course.
I would recommend a section outlining the differences between the old and new Code and Standards.
Too much dead air space at the end of each slide. Cannot advance until the silence is over.
Great little self-guided course with easy to understand objectives and CFP Board information. Thank you, M
This material could be condensed into a shorter format.
There was at least 30 minutes of "dead air" when the talking on the slide was done but the bar was SLOWLY moving toward the end and you couldn't proceed to the next slide. Very frustrating.
listening to an AI voice read the program is brutal. and the knowledge check questions don't allow for a response, so they're really not knowledge checks
The AI voice made it hard to stay connected sometimes as it clearly could not emphasize words correctly.
AI voice was terrible. No option to keep it playing, you have to click the next button each time. Set up for the lowest common denominator user.
I did not like the quantity of time needed to click on next to progress in the course.
Make the time needed to review the courses shorter.
It was easy to access and work through
allow faster reading of the material
The AI robot presentation was not engaging and quite boring. It should be narrated by an actual person.
Option to speed up playback on the audio
Made it a little slow having to listen to each video in full.
The change in the course to read everything to me excessively slowly vs. self read was very frustrating. I will likely not use this course again given this change.
Not being able to speed up the audio or video is very frustrating for people with ADD. We should be able to engage the material in the way that is most effective for us. Also, requiring a certain time or way of reviewing the material is way too much micro management. Let us demonstrate our knowledge of the material. People don't all learn the same way.
The audio/video was good and helped me to stay engaged.
The course was too long. You should have the option to read the material rather than to listen to this very slow audio of the material. You should also be given the option to test down.
The course was good, but the CFP Board was too creative in length. One-pagers are recommended instead of long books. If you can not fit your concept on one page, think over the concept
It was clear the narration was computer generated and it was sometimes off cadence and monotonous.
The AI voiceover is terrible. Just have a human being record it!
Disappointed with the AI generated voice recording. Hiring an actual person would have been better.
The presentation was professional, clear, and concise.
I appreciated the ease of going through all topics.
It would be nice if this course had practice questions that I had to answer along the way.
I much prefer a written format - I dislike watching videos.
The AI generated or generic voice is annoying.
video was way to long for the content
Its a bit long for the topic at hand, hard to keep focused.
Well formatted, easy to understand, relevant, with helpful visuals, examples, and easy to navigate course.
Robo reader was difficult with which to remain engaged
I spent several hours going through the material on Saturday afternoon but when I tried to do the exam I couldn't get past the finished status and access anything . Extremely frustrating. Had to wait til someone was back in your office
This course was far too long and slow moving.
Very comprehensive and well done.
Course takes longer than 2 hours. Incredibly repetitive. Overlapping topics and learning objectives. Needs to be condensed and more interactive.
Dry, robotic voice over throughout the course.
long course and can't move thru video....
The course was very long and drawn out. Case studies would be more effective.
there has to be a better way then manually going through each slide and awaiting an AI agent to slowly read each slide, did I miss something? If I did not, then this course was an insult to my intelligence and integrity.
I really like the visuals and examples. It made it easy to understand and retain important information.
the course wasn't save properly and I had to go through almost entirely for the second time and my internet connection wasn't interrupted
I would like to be able to read it and go at my own pace
The video goes too slow
If anyone honestly thinks a financial advisor will be more ethical or more competent because of these lengthy videos then they have no clue what is going on. This is a tax on my time and everyone else's and I don't appreciate it.
Let me read the material and allow me to advance slides
No reason for this to take over two hours. We passed the CFP exam and if you don't know ethics as an adult you will never learn them...... Another waste of valuable time to simply rehash what you already know....
It was very straight forward
this course should also have an option to simply read the material, rather than have to sit through someone reading the slides.
The only criticism that I would have is that there seemed to be alot of redundancy, especially in the beginning of the presentation.
Very smooth
It would be great to have the option to listen to it at a faster speed like 1.5x or 2x.
Length & content could be shortened
Multiple voices could be helpful. One voice can be droning. Thanks
The course was easy to follow and not too long
This course is way too long for only two hours of CE credits. The content is fine, but either shorten the course or reward us with more hours of CE.
This was obnoxiously long and repetitive to information covered in the initial cfp coursework and exam
Great course and was packed with information and content that is relevant to the CFP.
We are encouraged to "interact with the content" but very little opportunity to do so is provided. More true interaction would make this more meaningful.
Videos are always the best way to learn for me. A few more would improve it.
I would prefer to have an option for a program that you have to read through instead of having the videos with audio. My learning style is more through reading/writing and this was more challenging for me to engage in the content. Additionally the videos would have no audio towards the end of the video that would extend the time the content takes to get through, which felt unnecessary. It would also have been nice to have the learning check points be interactive where we got to select from a true/false option.
Long course
I would like to have the course to be more interactive or include more live scenarios.
I can read material much faster than having to listen to it. It's quit frustrating having to sit and wait for it to be read aloud.
Several times, the system did not return to where I left off, did not acknowledge progress made, but it was easy enough to fix. Not a major complaint. I do most or all of my CE with WebCE every year and I am quite happy with the service and materials.
would like the ability to read through the slides rather than listening
The option to speed up the playback to get through material faster while still listening would be helpful
Page 31 misstatement that says “of course, the information needed for financial planning may be LESS extensive than the information needed for financial advice.”
Interactive quizzes may be helpful to keep participant more engaged.
Course was a little long with all the narration
the auto play times are too long
Having what sounded like an obvious AI voice reading over material that was largely also presented in writing felt a bit clunky, especially the slides that were word for word.
It was very dry and the AI voiceover was not engaging. There was no opportunity to interact with the material.
I can read faster than how they talk so this is frustrating to have to wait on them.
Having to listen to the speaker slowed down the training. Having it to read as an option would have been helpful and a lot quicker to complete.
I prefer to learn by reading rather than listening, especially when there is such a high volume of info. I begin to tune out the information when it is rattled off rather than being made available in text.
More real life scenarios would be helpful to reinforce concepts.
disliked pace, would prefer to read/scroll through on my own.
Would be nice to have the option to listen on a faster speed.
too much clicking instead of slides advancing automatically
Very detailed, thank you
The digital voice presentation is awful.
Like: having audio dislike: having to click at the end of each slide, some were delayed after he finished speaking. Some voice inflection would be nice. Feels like the course was longer than the credit receiving.
The PowerPoint moved so slowly it took me nearly 6 hours to do a 2 hour course.
Course is very thorough.
I am a quick reader so it is hard for me to sit and listen to someone read me the slides at such a slow pace. I don't mind some explanations but I really don't care for having to listen to someone the entire time. I'd get more of the training if I could read on my own,
They need to create content based on how long someone has been a CFP
This is so repetitive. Understand that we must uphold to very high standards, but to have to repeat this same information year after year with filler, is a bit frustrating.
The AI you have reading the slides really distract from the information being conveyed. It doesn't speak in a natural way.
The AI generated voice on these things puts a person to sleep. I'd rather hear it read by a live person.
Going forward, please provide the option of reading through the course OR listening to the AI reader. I can read much faster that the reader. Thank you.
This was one of the most onerous deliveries of an online course I have ever taken. The pace of the modules wasted far too much time, mor time in fact than the 2 hours it was supposedly allotted for. Professionally, I found this extremely offensive.
The course seemed much longer than most CE courses.
It's too long for the material covered. I think ethics should be what we know...not how much time we spend at it.
I would have like more detailed examples where I could have practice questions that I could fill out. Also, some mini tests at the end of each question would be a wonderful learning experience.
As a visual learner, this course was probably the most monotonous CFP CE that I've ever taken.
The audio driven education is slow and clunky.
Technology is very easy, please keep the same software and interface
way too long
The audio would finish, but I had to still wait several seconds before allowed to click next. Also it would be nice to have a option to just read the material rather than having to listen to the audio. Thanks
It would have been very helpful if I could take the course at my pace, versus being forced to listen to a rather slow delivery of the material
Course would jam and not save correctly so I had to repeat parts of the course multiple times
Now way to speed up the talking. he monotone nature of the recording was very boring.
It would be nice to have the speed up audio option.
70% score out of 12 questions really means a 75% as 9/12 =75%; 8/12 = 66% Little rough considering it must be closed book.
I can read. Forcing me to listen to a very slow narrator when I can read the content in much less time is frustrating.
Too long with the required audio in my opinion.
Voice variation and more animation/videos would enhance the learning
the course was good.
The pace of reading was too slow.
took longer than 2 hrs to get through the required material- expected 2 hrs and given my experience, 40 yrs plus thought this was excessive.
I liked how the information was distributed into smaller parts for easier consumption.
Content was great. I just prefer to read the material myself, rather than listen to it.
AI voice, while very understandable and well paced, is a bit annoying in its mispronunciations and poor handling of the flow of grammar.
If you are going to use AI to read the course it would be helpful to have a human listen to it and correct mispronounced words and names.
Information was good. Would have liked more examples of case studies with different scenarios of client interchanges.
I thought the course was excellent. However, it would have been nice to have an option to speed up the course. For example, a button to watch at 1.25 times or 1.5 times faster. Something like that. Thanks, John
For 2 hours of CE credit that took WAY too long.
I completed the course and it made me re-take the last 25% or so for some reason....very upsetting.
Liked the audio and visual combination.
Show how many slides total to help us keep track.
There was quite a bit of repetition that if eliminated could properly cover the important concepts while reducing time required to complete the material.
I kept having issues with navigating the course. Luckily I printed my successful completion of the course page to prove I went through every slide in order to take this survey. Three times I was routed to the beginning of the course content and had to do the slides multiple times. I have never experienced these issues with web CE before and I have completed almost 100 courses to date.
Forced to watch the final screen for a pre-determined length of time? Should be able to read at your own pace or make the entire module a set time. Not each individual slide.
This course took way longer than the 2 hours of credit it gives. Worst CE I've ever taken actually. No interactive quizzes, just talking the entire time. Awful. Never again will I use WebCe.
The course seemed longer than 2 hours and some of the content was repetitive. But it certainly got the points across.
Seemed to take more than 2 hrs to get through the slides, progress not always accurately saved
For veteran CFPs it is frustrating to be locked out of taking the test first.
The course is rather boring. I don't know what can be done about it, other than motion picture videos.
The comprehension review for each section, true or false should be interactive so that the participant can answer the question before moving ahead to see if the question was answered correctly. Incorporating short quizzes at the end of each module may help assess comprehension.
The course is too long, and it's very distracting that the voiceover doesn't match the slides. There was a lot of repetitive audio. The overview of resources at the end was too long and in my opinion, unnecessary.
On Apple iMac the screen for the lesson was not adjustable in size, therefore it was quite difficulty to see the graphs/charts/illustrations clearly due to their diminutive size.
If you can read, you shouldn't have to watch the videos and listen. I could have read the entire thing in shorter timeframe.
very easy to navigate course. course stays right on track as outlined. thank you!
I did not see the required exam
The videos had a few extra seconds before you could advance to the next one-chewed up a good amount of time.
One should be able to print the course material. Without it how are we to go back and refresh ourselves and answer the questions. It is difficult to remember all of the material.
It would be more engaging if the course was more interactive
This course is too long and Slow for the credit earned. If you are goijng to force us to take one this long for so few of credits you should have a speed button on the voice so it can be adjusted. This lulled me to sleep. Too Long Too Slow.
After 2 hours of going through it, it said I was finished but then made me start over halfway through the slides. I had to call WebCe to avoid listening to it again
way too slow speaking in the modules - we are professionals who listen and read quickly - this was brutally slow to wait through each section
Program is too long with no ability to move at a faster pace. I don't need 60 seconds to read one paragraph. No way to advance faster.
The organization of the course and clarity of communication were terrific. The computer-generated voice was distracting, with its unnatural word emphasis and flat tone, were distracting, though.
I would recommend having an actual person narrate the program. The automated speaker was very robotic and monotone.
Consistantly say the correct name for Malik. It was said two different ways within the same scenario.
The course was very slow. Even after the dictation of the slide there was a long pause before it advanced to the next slide.
The content froze several times throughout. Content is good but could be condensed and covered more quickly for experienced CFPs.
experienced minor tech issues where presentation would stall for a few seconds/minutes but would eventually resume
I do not like the "Robot Voice" narrator. There has to be a better way!
Voice was slow and robotic. Didn't feel human. I went back in to finish the class at a second date and had to re-scroll through watched slides. Other than that it was fine.
very informative and well done
Easy to use, easy to understand
The course is way too slow, information is repetive and redundant and overall, too long. I can read fast and shouldn't have to wait for the narration. It was painful!
It was well laid out, comprehensive, easy to follow and material provided a helpful review.
Much too long and repetitive. It would be nice to be able to "test out" of all this content.
The audio could have played faster.
wish there was text you could read instead of listening to all those slides. Not everyone attain info by listening. Reading is the optimal source of communication for some people.
it says its 2 hours...feels way longer than that , lol
Good course. Good info. Clear presentation. Good segmentation. I didn't notice any typo's and I typically do. Well done. Thank you.
I prefer to read the material as opposed to sitting and listening to someone read to me.
THE CFP ethics course was entirely too long. There was no option to make the speed of the playback faster. aside from that the courses have been informative.
Software sucks. I had to repeat multiple sections from it not saving
My place in the module wasn't saved and cost me another 45m to redo because of being unable to move forward within the course on my own. It's a technology error that was annoying, but overall was a great course!
I had a slight problem when downloading the CFP Board Case Studies and then getting back to completing the course and test.
I am a visual learner. Listening to this coursea was very difficult as the voice was clear but without variation in tone. I would have fare much better had I been able to flollow along with a print document.
For this to be the only option for CE credit for American College designations is disappointing. While some of the content was helpful for any designation, much of the course was advertising CFP Board materials that were irrelevant to me. I will not be using WebCE for this requirement in the future.
Please don't require us to remain on a slide for a specific period of time.
I'd rather read than listen to a video
The CFP Board makes things harder than they need be. The length of the course is terrible, way too long. Should be a 30 minute course if better produced. Considering dropping my CFP so I never have to take this course again. You should let a professional group put this together, not CFP Board.
The course could have been more effective if it was more interactive. Such as having the student answer scenario questions before giving the answer.
Took longer than 2 hours
If the course MUST be presented via video, allow us to speed it up. The presenter spoke much more slowly than my comprehension level. If I'm going to be forced to listen to someone speak, I should have the option to speed it up.
Computer voice and reading of all the codes was incredibly dry and boring, the reading each line item was painful for this course. More practical examples and not a AI voice would help.
The course didnt save my progress multiple times so I had to listen to the course multiple times.
My learning style strongly favors reading over listening. I would have gotten more from the course if i could read through the material rather than listen to recordings.
Course was fine. Do not like forced surveys. Content is a solid reminder of the requirements for the designation.
too long, repetitive
narration was too slow, and the check your understanding/knowledge should be interactive.
very clear and comprehensive and efficient!
I liked how easy it was to interact with the software
do not like AI narration
It was overwhelming and way too much information.
More case studies I feel would be helpful. Especially for younger advisors.
hate that it has to read it to me. I can read it myself. Just use the time limit if you are worried people will go through it too fast.
Please let me ready the material, rather than force me to listen to an AI generated voice read the material to me. It was distracting and not the best way for me to learn/review this kind of material.
The subject material was repeated over and over and on a very simple level. Much of this is common sense and that part could be moved more quickly through
I would have liked the ability to speed the course up. It felt very slow.
This ethics from the CFP is too long and not designed for people that have been doing this for 30 years. It is basic, and annoying that I cannot click through the level 101 stuff.
This course would be so much better if it was narrated by a person. The lack of voice inflection makes it difficult to stay focused.
Some of the slides were easily read more quickly than I was able to progress, that was frustrating at times
A lot of clicking.
I would like to have the new Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct booklet while listening to the presentation
allow a speed on reading tab as this takes too long at the current speed.
i don't want to be forced to watch video.
I didn't like the digital narration.
This course was very helpful and provided clear information with easy use of technology. Would recommend
I lost the audio several times and the course also reversed it self several time and it thus took 3 hours to complete
do not enjoy mandatory surveys
More interactive opportunities vs. just listening the whole time
The monotone computer voice used for audio was truly painful.
More words were used than necessary and it would be nice to have the ability to increase the speed to at least 1.5 times. It was difficult to stay engaged due to the slow pace and starting out with and being interrupted by dialogue not directly focused on learning the target material
aif and aifa designations no longer accept credits
Did not like the pace, having to listen to the audio, rather than cover the material at my own pace.
allow to play videos at 1.5x and 2.0x speed
It would be nice if the questions in the course were actually interactive
If you are going to use a slide show please use a real person as the presenter. AI voices are annoying and difficult to listen to for extended periods of time. It isn’t that difficult to use a real person.
It took longer than I would have liked. Often I read the slide and transcript and then just had to sit and listen for it to read the same information to me before being able to click on to the next. Also accidentally closed the browser without realizing it and completed the course, only to find it didn't "take" and I had to do it all over again
HAD TO RUN THROUGH ALL THE MATERIAL TWICE BEFORE THE QUIZ COULD BE ACCESSED. NOT GOOD. BIG WASTE OF TIME.
ability to increase speed would have helped. If technically possible, it would have helped to have interactive periodic activity to hold interest where you can proceed without answering.
The course was too long
I would have loved an option to speed up the speaking of the audio.
Forcing the student to view all the videos in completion is a waste of time.
If the system is going to be required to view every slide, then it should have an autoplay feature. Its disjointed and interrupts learning when there's each slide requiring the "next button" to be pressed. WebCE has the capability to auto-play, so this is an intentional decision by the Board to not allow the function. Hence, the learning was disjointed.......
well laid out and concepts were reinforced effectively
More examples or questions to clarify points regarding 7 steps for duties of care.
being able to speed up the audio would be nice...
Disliked having to listen to every single page.
What I disliked the most was all the redundancy of topics. Made it feel really long and boring. I did like the list of resources
I can read a lot faster than I listen ... being forced to listen to an AI voice to ensure that the course took up 2 hours of my time was depressing.
It's not your fault, the requirement is 2 hours but I can read so much faster than the voice spoke in the video, It was a little mind numbing,
the material in the Ethics course is very redundant since I've been in the business for 30+ years; a good overveiw though.
few more interactive videos may be helpful
The length of this program was ridiculous. The CFP Board turned a 30 minute training program into something over two hours. Not acceptable to make us listen to this CFP branding exercise.
Way to long
needs testing with multiple choice
Too long for a 2 hour course
Very comprehensive material. I liked having the material read to me vs just reading it.
I think this course should take into consideration the individual CFP's time in the industry and make the time less to review after a certain number of years
Upon completing course, the transition to this survey was poor. The error message appeared that my course work was "in progress" for an overly long time.
I cannot sit patiently while the man slowly reads every slide including very remedial instructions like there will be 12 questions and you must score a 70%. I get it, move on already. These courses last longer than the 2 hours credit and I often lose concentration on the topic because I'm not in a setting where I can listen to the audio, there is very little to read along to, and I cannot speed up the audio. For some of us this is like sitting in a very long lecture with a topic that keeps repeating and belaboring the point. I've got 30 hours to cover and this 2.5 to 3 hrs was mind numbing.
I prefer no audio & could have saved an hour by reviewing the material on my own.
It was more of a read to me of all the materials by a computer voice. I was not allowed read but had to listen to the terrible recording. It took longer than 2 hours and not overly helpful
subtitles need to be available on all pages of the course. I understand a transcript is available, but subtitles are much easier
It would have been better to have written out the information to read versus having to listen to it.
The audio was very generic and painstaking
did not like that it was all a recording
Course took too long having to wait on the audio of each slide when reading it would have been much faster
THERE WAS A LAG ON SOME OF THE SLIDES ENDING THE AUDIO AND THEN THE TAB BEING HIGHLIGHTED TO ALLOW ONE TO MOVE TO THE NEXT SLIDE. IT JUST TOOK LONGER THAN NECESSARY.
more case studies are helpful
Course content is relevant. Having to listen to a computer voice read the entire content is off-putting and hard to endure.
Disliked the monotone computer voice that you have to listen to. a more dynamic voice would have been better
Robotic voice is very tiring to sit through. It has intonation, but lacks human phrasing. Additionally, lists and bullet points are used in excess.
Always easy to design course load and get through the materials
I can listen at 1.5 - 2 x speed
I like that it was CFP focused.
at the end of the course, it was not clear how to access the exam
Sometimes the audio AI voice jumbled words and was not understandable.
The inability to speed up the audio is terrible. I can read this content and understand it much faster than it is read to me.
One suggestion is to remove the extra few seconds at the end of each recorded portion that delay the ability to move on to the next portion. Great job overall!
It would be better to take this survey after the exam. That would give a better indication of how well the material in the course contributed to the overall learning.
It would be great if we could watch this at 1.5x speed.
There should be a way to speed up the audio.
Good course
remove narration and limit to read-only or at least make read-only an option.
Video required 2 viewings before I could proceed
Course cut out on me with an error, losing an hour of work. Course description also states a time of 50 minutes plus running this one screen after the other took almost 3 hours. course was dry as a bone and sounded like an AI android reading with a script.
good course
I think it was very useful and a good review.
It would be nice to be able to speed up the playback if desired.
Thank you!! Glad it was a webcast presentation, and I didn't have to read everything like in several prior years!!! This was great!!!
I'm rarely ever enjoy courses that make the participant sit through the material without being able to speed up or go at your own pace. This one didn't allow for faster reading and even had dead time after all content was presented before moving on. Also, the computerized voice presenting the content feels impersonal and hard to listen to.
I listened to the whole course and then my progress disappeared. I was told I had not completed the course when I had. Fortunately I was able to prove i.lostened.to the whole.program but this should not happen and it took time to resolve. Thankful.though that once i sent proof, they quickly got the test open for me. (Or at least I think it will.oen.). Also, I hope you find a way to cut off dead air time on some of the slides. We have to hit the arrow after each slide over and over again and when there is dead time at the end of a slide...time that needs to pass with no one speaking, the viewer literally sits there waiting for the arrow to move to the end. Surely there is a way to make this more efficient.
Your courses don't clearly explain what is CE for CFP or IAR.
Dear God, please don't make these audio-only with no ability to even speed up the audio. Some of us learn better from reading, and it's mind-numbing to have to keep clicking through slow audio. Also way too much detail in the presentation presented via audio only (no accompanying visuals to show those details; like a whole long paragraph read over a single uninformative slide)
I DISLIKED THE INCREDIBLY SLOW PACE OF HAVING TO LISTEN TO THE GUY READ THE COURSE TO ME. LET ME READ THE MATERIAL AND MOVE ON MUCH QUICKER.
The audio should have faster playback options. The knowledge checks should be interactive; allowing the student to answer before giving the answer.
You should use a real person for the audio portion rather than using artificial intelligence. The AI mispronouced a very large amount of words. The AI is very impersonal. A CFP professional is in a very person business. A personally-delivered ethics course would be more appreciated than one delieverd by AI.
Content was good. Narration by robot was not. Pause at end of each section is inefficient. Lots of redundancy.
The computer generated audio was pretty tough to handle for two hours
The material was very good but there were sections (e.g., the Duty of Care) that felt overly long and redundant.
I prefer reading the transcripts as opposed to listening to the audio. I am done with the transcripts well before the audio catches up. I understand that we don't want people to just click through the entire presentation, but disabling the ability to advance slides until the audio finishes seems overboard.
This was singularly the most awful 2 hours I've ever spent. Having a monotone presentation read to me for 2 hours is absurd and an absolute waste of time.
Good content, thanks for the course.
it would be nice to control the speed of the presentation
Tough to navigate on smart phone.
It took me 2 hours and change to complete the course. I was happy that it stayed withing the range as advertised. Overall, well done.
I could have been more interactive. A lot of lecture. I tend to learn by reading more and t was hard to pay attention to the monotone voice for 2 hours.
Course seemed repetitive
The knowledge check sections could be interactive, allowing for the answers to actually be answered and then the correct answer could be shown.
Too long for Veteran CFPs
Overall, the course was well done. My one suggestion is that some of the repetition of things needs to be eliminated. Some, I had the feeling that a point was being beaten to death!
Didn't like the fact that it used ai-voice for the entire program.
The links to documents on CPF.net should open up in a "new" tab or window to prevent kicking you out of the course.
It was a bit long, but good content.
Slides should be a little quicker
It sounded like AI was reading the content. It wasn't engaging.
This course work is too long for the content. Could have been shorter.
The course was too long and sometime repetitive
108 slides for a 2 hour CE? ridiculous!
Artificial voice gets annoying. Editing out long pauses at end of each page would speed up processing time. Every second counts.
Too long, too detailed and no ability to accelerate based on prior knowledge.
Could be condensed to one hour, should be exception for CFP's with 20+experience
It is quite long.
I would rather the material be more interactive and readable than mostly audio.
This course took way too long
The case studies illustrated the concepts nicely, making the abstract more concrete.
The voice was very robotic and monotone so very hard to remain engaged at times.
Either shorten content to a reasonable 2 hours or increase the credit.
The website timed out and I was unable to take the test without doing the whole thing all over again. I had to call in to get it unlocked. Also, not clear AT ALL where to clock to take this waste-of-time survey that needed to be done to move on to the exam. I had to call in TWICE for assistance.
The course was well done and very well presented. I especially liked the provided links to CFP Board Resources.
1. Auto-voice is very monotone and hard to pay attention - I dazed off multiple times because of how dry the delivery of the content is. 2. Too much crammed into one presentation. Consider breaking this into sections.
The next button or arrow wasn’t responsive on my tablet
takes too long
I especially appreciated the dictation feature. It was the best part of this learning experience.
Slides take longer than necessary to go through.
Appreciate the well done content.
The course moved too slow.
Hire a real person to read the slides instead of a computer because the timing and pronunciation of the computer voice are unnatural and harder to learn because it emphasizes the wrong words.
I did have a challenge with getting the course to read aloud
More interaction. More videos with case studies.
Layout of course was clear. Not being able to click next right away once each slide was done speaking
i think having to listen and watch this presentation is too much. i know ethics is incredibly important but this is not the way to deliver it.
Allow for 2X audio. It will be more engaging.
2nd year in a row that the course material could not open under gogle or Google Chrome.
I did not like that I could not go at my own pace. The mandatory oral communication aspect of the course did not appeal to me and my learning style.
There were some dead times in between the end of the text and the end of the video so some time could be shaved off just sitting and waiting.
It's a good refresher but long.
AI voice wasn't great. I'd prefer a real person narating
way too long for those of us that have been CFPs for so long.. I think if you are able to pass an exam of 85% or higher, you do not need to sit through such a basic course.
In my opinion the audio for the course is too slow. If it can be increased to even 1.25x speed it would flow much better for some of the case scenarios.
The course is too long and I had to do it over because the Webpage was accidentally closed.
Male narration sounded somewhat AI generated and some vocal inflection and pronunciation was odd and a little difficult to understand. The female narration was excellent and had normal modulation and sounded like a person speaking.
Too many clicks and add feature that allows a 1.25 and or 1.5 playback speed.
The speaker spoke very slow and there is no way to have audio speed increase. also, at the end of each section there is about 10-20 second wait, not much if one section but with 10 section it adds 30 minutes to the to time just wait for the next screen as the video rolls past nothing happening or no one talking
Would be nice if I could increase/decrease the audio speed. I'm used to playing audio files at a faster reading rate, particularly when I am familiar with the material. Otherwise, the course was excellent.
Too much repetition, could have been shorter
The course was very thorough and covered the material in great depth. However, it took a longer time to complete it than I expected. Perhaps some of the sections could be condensed.
Thes first time I completed the course on my phone it did not save my progress forcing me to listen for another 1.5 hours to material I already completed
The course was way too long for an experienced CFP that has been in the business for over 40 years. I was one of the first CFP's in the nation back in 1979, I don't want to be mandated to listen to the entire program. Give me the questions and I will take the test.
SO DRY. I know this is CE and Ethics, but do SOMETHING to make it more engaging. I feel like I just got lectured to for 2 hours. . .
I can read faster than the presenter. This felt like a lot of wasted time especially the pauses at the end of each section before I could hit next.
Disliked not having the ability to speed up the recordings..as in play the audio at a faster rate.
The pace was too slow. I am a slow reader and I hate to wait on every slide before I could hit "Next".
Could use more real-life video cases
easy flow. Would have been nice to have more interactive engagement with progress checks.
Content progress on my phone did not register when I logged in online with my computer. Not sure what happened there.
The information was very repetitive for someone who has been a CFP for 35years.
Should be able to advance slides without waiting for the timer unless audio is being read out loud.
AI / Robot voice was annoying
The class was extrememly boring . It is really important info but the way it was presented was not engaging.
I could read faster than having to listen. Listening doesn't help me retain information. It felt it was a lot longer than needed to be. Transcripts doesn't help because it goes at the pace of the speaker.
This course is WAY too long. It may be controlled by CFP Board, but for the sake of meeting Ethics, it is WAY too long.
The monotone voice makes it very hard to listen to.
should be able to speed up videos. spending more time watching doesn't make it more useful.
Excellent course, I especially like the examples given in the course
The AI generated narrator was a little distracting at times.
Just an idea - Should be open book test. Content is important and required to go through each slide.
Certain users consume information faster than others. It'd be great to allow for certificants to watch this in at 1.5xs speed.
Closed caption was not available. It would have been helpful to follow the speaker.
Did it's job when it comes to the ethics course!
This course is well done and as good as it gets when you are dealing with a recorded, non-interactive learning experience.
Allow for speeding up the dialogue to 2x, make open book like other programs, listening to a 2 hour program with a slow reader is why I've rated this program that way I have.
I like the videos
Please hire a human to do the voice over work. The computer voice was terrible, the voice was robotic and you could tell it was synthesized. The intonation, cadence, and pronunciation took away from the material at hand. Terrible. I'd rather read the material or at least give me the option if you're going to keep the computer voice over.
A very good course. I would allow for a faster pace of covering the material, such as by choosing to read the transcript or listen to/read the transcript. Or at least allow the speed of the spoken content to be variable (like on Spotify, 1.1, or 1.2 times faster).
some slides were too slow. the narrator had to read every word before we could move on which is much slower than how fast one can read
I had a technology error and had to start the video all over when I was close to the end so that was frustrating
The pace of learning was helpful and well organized.
this course is way too long and tends to speak like we are middle school kids.
The narration was terrible. So hard to listen with a robot sounding voice with very few breaks in sentences and no voice inflection.
This particular course was just too long.
Too repetitive. Many things were mentioned several different times which was unnecessary.
My biggest beef with the course is that I could not change the speed of the presentation. I would have liked to set it at 1.5x speed.
The course was just too long and sounded like a promo for the CFP board. There should have been an option to read through text and understand instead of forcing us to sit through a slow oration. Most of this material is just a repeat year after year and could be simplified.
How much CE does one per need. State, FINRA, Broker Dealer, CFP. It NEVER ENDS.
The AI voice was distracting since it was so obvious with the cadence and mispronunciations.
WebCE is the Best. You get all the info needed in a simple to read and follow manner and the tests are reasonable. WebCE allows you to handle your CPE without completely interrupting your work day.
There should have been an estimated time for having to listen through all the material versus being able to read it on my own which would have saved a lot of time.
clicking through way too long
Transcript was much slower than reading the slides, causing major delays.
Good course but would have liked the ability to expand to full screen.
Whenever a "short video" would come up to be watched, it paused. I had to keep switching between browsers. There should also be an option to listen in faster speed. Also occasional long pauses once the video was complete before you could move on to the next section.
Lpve WebCE. But dislike the CFP. I did an ethics course that didnt count so it was a waste of time. Had to call CFP to get clarity on it. The other WebCE materials are great. This CFP one was bad. Computer guy talks too slow. We are smart. They can talk faster.
WAY too long. And all in video. Most of us older people HATE watching videos for this. I'd rather read and then take the test. The videos put me to sleep and then become background noise. After decades as a CFP I really can just pass the test without even looking at the material, so at least make it something I can take away something valuable.
Nice overview
People learn and listen and read at different rates. There should always be an accommodation that allows for people to move on when they have sufficiently absorbed the information in a section without penalty or being forced to "wait" which can cause distraction and undermine the ability to learn and absorb the material.
The only reason I did not give this content a 10 is because there was no ability in the videos to listen at 2x or 1.5x speed. It felt very drawn out. Even the voice would end talking and the video did not end for 2-4 seconds.
The AI generated voiceover was terrible.
The narrator sounded like a robot.
course seemed longer than 2 hours
I liked the materials
This CFP Ethics Course was the best one I have taken. Excellent.
Should be more than 2 hours. Took a little over 3 before exam.
I would prefer to read through the material myself rather then watching slide by slide and having to hit next each time.
it's annoying that it's timed and you cannot move forward on items that you have a solid understanding of already.
See Dick & Jane. Dick & Jane run up the hill. Maybe CFP required this but give me the option to READ the content without the audio. Time is money and your guy speaks way more slowly than I can read and comprehend. I should be able to go thru at my own pace.
East to use and well presented.
Course is too long an redundant, especially for 2 credits!
Wish I could listen at 1.5x speed. At one point it lost my progress and I had to restart.
AI voice narrative was difficult listening. Too many wasted words explaining what we are going to cover next - just get to it!
The course takes much longer than 2 hours
Not being able to advance the slides when you already know the information is super annoying. I have been in the business for over 35 years so having to sit through the content is painful.
great materials.
for item 10. I like courses that give both CFP credits and CPA credits for CPE courses.
Some modules would end but still the program would plan and not permit advancing to the next
I disliked the fact that the script was read by an AI generated voice instead of a real person. It made the content less engaging. I also found the uneven pauses at the end of each video segment (some of which were much longer than seemed appropriate) very frustrating.
There was a few lags in the video and ability to click to the next section throughout.
When the course finished, there was not a link to the exam, only the survey.
This was frustratingly long and I could read the slides so much faster than sitting and listening to them like a pre-school kid. The test should reinforce material understanding not making adults listen to a computer read to them.
not a fan of computer generated speech
ypu should let us read not have to sit thru the boring audio icould read this in 15 seconds vs listening for 45 seconds
way too long and repetitive. Seemed to be at least 15mins of computer narration of what resources are available online. Come on.
Easy to understand
I detest mandatory video classes
Would like more information in the standards about the changes from the past.
I would have appreciated a written version of the narration as an alternative to being required to listen to the video presentation, which in many slides was too long and some slides had long blank pauses, before we were allowed to proceed to the next slide.
allow the content to be sped up and/or allow us to click through content at our own pace. Most of this is review and the slow recording forces multitasking.
The computer generated voice of the speaker was not great, and a bit annoying. Having a real person speak, or do videos would be better.
Easy and Simple CE
Course was too long...
Needs speed function
The time was way longer than the required 2 hours. I would have preferred to read content vs. be stuck listening to a choppy recording.
The volume was all over the map and inconsistent through-out the training material which kept me from rating '10' across the board.
I would have liked the option to increase the speed of the videos and talking of the presenters.
I had to go through all the material twice for it to save.
I like the presentation very much.
There was a lot of duplication of information.
Shame on the board. The idea that I am forced to use the audio through out is very demeaning. I am a good reader and obviously have good comprehension or I could not have passed the original CFP exam. This is a juvenile approach to making sure we do the CE the way the board feels is best. I resent it. It is a computer audio which is completely monotone. At least pay for a real voice.
The technology Locked up 2 times costing me over 1 hr of time each time. The talking is way to slow allow faster talking or reading only. This was painful to go through.
Course length could be modestly reduced, otherwise fine
there should be an option to speed the reading time. It took at lot longer than necessary.
The course moved too slowly. Would prefer to be allowed to just read it.
Where is the quiz? And I was altered about a state requirement before the course? I'm just confused on the order.
Course was very informative but a bit to long
this course looks like it was from the CFP board - super informative, but took SO SO SO LONG to go through every slide. I read the transcript so much faster than going through each slide.
It was too long.
The speed of the course was very slow for professionals. The speaker spoke at a very slow pace for relatively easy to comprehend topics. I think this would be fine if the playback speed could be adjusted, but since it cannot it really delays the course speed for no great reason. If you're able to pass the CFP exam then you can understand these concepts at a faster speed.
Course was way too long for this content that we go over every year. I should have had the option to listen as a slightly higher speed. I think this content and the board needs to move away from time spent from ability to synthesize the information. I appreciate the importance of ethics in the profession and maintaining the marks, but this annual pilgrimage could be made to be less onerous by offering more flexibility to complete the training for those with different learning styles. If I can pass the exam to check my awareness of the topic, the time spent should not be the focus of the training. I am pretty sure this is a CFP Board issue and not WebCE since other CE courses offer the flexibility to adjust speed.
I was over halfway through the course and exited and my progress wasn't saved. It was very confusing how to ensure my progress saves.
This was painful. I read very fast. Why was this in only video format. We should be allowed to read the material. Was it mandated by CFP Board that it had to be a video format. Otherwise it was great.
I am a visual learner. Very frustrating to have to listen but no text to follow.
The automated voice was painful to listen to
Repetitive and wordy
The only CE course where the material was not downloadable. The only CE course that was not live that required playing audio rather than just reading.
This was the worst CE course I have ever taken. Using a monotonous AI voice with having to click next on average every 15 or 20 seconds was painful. Please revisit your thoughts on thinking this was acceptable.
the robotic language is a bit dry.
Content is good, but would like to be able to go back and forth to othr sections of the course, not just the section you are on.
I would like the ability to speed up the diction
Many of the slides added a lot of silence at the end so you could not continue until it was done; either reduce the silence or allow participants to read and move forward to the next slide.
AI voice was very monotone.
Might be beneficial to use real world examples of violations as well as success stories.
An actual human voice rather than a artificial one would make more interesting--less monotone.
Crashed three times and set me back to the beginning
It could move at a little faster pace.
I much preferred this course over just reading material, it made the class feel faster and more interesting.
it was too long; please offer an option to take the exam in the beginning
The audio felt like a robot just reading a script.
The mechanical voice was pretty bad. Please bring back a real human voice actor.
didn't like having to watch video, versus read, different people learn differently at different pacing, so having only one way to learn is why some rating were lower; over the years very happy with WebCE overall though
You cannot move forward in a timely manner. I am done reading some slides and cannot proceed for 20 seconds.
There needs to be a function to play audio at faster speeds. I typically play audio at 1.25 or 1.5 speed as that is more natural for me. The pace of the presenters in this material felt way too slow.
I prefer more hands-on and interactivity whenever possible.
I thought it was very thorough and easy to go through. It might be good to offer a read-only option--instead of needing to view all the videos in real time.
I would prefer to read the material and not have to listen to a narrator. It was slow and boring to listen to.
Perhaps operator error but I was required to start over twice, losing hours of progress before I could take the exam. Infuriating!
Make it easier to read the screens as opposed to haing to listen to the voiceover.
It was a little tedious having to click next for each new slide.
I was almost finished the course and the course went black and made me repeat the whole second half of the course and there was no way to go forward to where I was before.
It would have been more engaging to hear a recording of a real human speaking. Alternatively, AI voices have come a long way since this was recorded. A podcast like format would have held my attention better. This was a little painful to get through.
I don't care for being read to. I prefer to read the material myself.
I wish there was a text that we could read for people that prefer to read information rather than hear it.
it would be helpful to show the transcript of words across the screen like closed captioning instead of in the box on the side.
there needs to be an option for more written material as not everyone learns purely from an auditory option. learning check ins along the way (short quizzes like every other WebCE course) are helpful at the end of each unit also
A little boring - no change in inflection. Not interactive enough.
Would be nice to have the option to speed up the video, to maybe 1.25x or 1.5x.
it was well put together and flow was good
I can read faster than having the material read to me. I couldn't even speed up the electronic reading of the material.
I am very capable of reading much faster than the video plays....it literally would have taken me 25% of the time to effectively read the slides vs. having to listen to a slow audio version.
This material can be quite dry by nature. Anything interactive would help keep attention.
excellent presentation
Great course setup, but more real-world examples or case studies would help to enhance the learning objectives.
The course was presented as a lecture and you had to listen to the content. I actually prefer transcript to lecture, I learn better that way. As a result, I reach the transcript along with the audio. As a result, I believe the course was longer than portrayed.
Disabling the ability to fast forward during the course is treating professionals like children. There are materials that we don't need to re-read after 20 years in the business as we already know it.
make the video screen bigger.
The site timed out on my so I had to rewatch vidoes which was annoying
I think this was the best ethic course I ever took
The course was too long. I could have read it more efficiently than having to listen.
The course was way too long.
Well laid out...very informative and was easy to follow
I have been a CFP for nearly 40 years. I have come to think of Ethics CE as "embedded and assumed" as you write in one section. I entered into this compelled video with fear and loathing. I emerge delighted. Thank you.
Lower scores since I was unable to adjust the speed. I needed to review content several times since it went fast. Other topics were slow.
Good course, just lengthy.
Shorter is better. Allow seasoned advisors with no regulatory or CFP issues to test out.
The audio in the course was painfully slow to the point of being a distraction. There needs to be an option to speed up the voice prompt to 1.25 or 1.5. Also, it would be better if they learning checkpoints were interactive and not just telling the answers. By being able to answer it would also speed up the sections of the course that a CFP professional is already comfortable with.
Excellent course navigation much easier than other CE providers have used in the past Presentation concise without being redundant Thank You!
2 be fair and accurate, i started at 337 and finished at 519, that is not 2 hours
The rob voice talking and reading of each of the bullet points was slow and unengaging.
Course made me complete twice since it did not save progress
Human recording rather than AI would be better.
Too long. Slow moving
You can do better than the robot voice with all of the AI advancements... So hard to engage in the content with the mechanical reading.
Excellent course and great case samples.
excellent course-clear format. understandable
Fairly good case studies and examples
The computer voice was monotone and paused mid sentence sometimes before continuing.
To improve: Hire a real voice. The monotonous robot gets annoying really fast. Material was great and encompassing.
I did not like the insertion of CFP Books/Materials that are presumably "for sale" through the CFP website. If these items are at no cost, in order to elevate the CFP profession, then it is acceptable but should be mentioned that they are available at not cost
Provide more specific examples and real life situations for sample cases
After I finished the first time, it only tracked my time mid-way through, so I needed to re-watch the second half.
lots of comments: 1) let users know that thew system doesnt work well on an ipad. the ipad kicked me out when the ipad went to sleep 2)first 7-8 slides were redundant and too long. 3) dont use an AI voice - human would be better 4) a cut and past feature would be helpful for notetaking
this seemed like an overview of CFP rather than a study of ethics.
I did not like the fact that you had to wait for each chapter to play. I can read a lot faster than the video played.
I thought it was a little too long
Would like the ability to speed up the audio playback
It appears one is forced to listen to the audio to complete each section rather than just read the material. I would prefer a read only option that has a quiz at the end of each unit. The final exam was fine.
way to long and repetitive year after year
I like that the program provides voice and written materials to learn from. It is a good pace and comprehensive. Thank you.
i wanted to listen at a faster speed and could not
I'm sure this is not the first time you've heard this but this class is PAINFUL! Having it read to me does not help my learning of the material. At minimum, it should have a speed control to be able to control the reader's reading speed.
subtitles for the narration need to be omnipresent. Also could just be my user experience and that they do exist in a normal session. Completed on IPad. But must state WebCE is awesome and been using since forever
I would rather read the material than be forced to have slow videos to watch.
Having the whole lesson read in the same voice was tiring. Maybe change the reader for different sections to provide variety.
Course was way too long.
One of the worst CEs I've taken with just listening to an AI voice for 2 hrs.
Too much "dead" time between narration and the ability to hit next slide.
I had to read the entire thing as the sound was not functioning.
I didn't like that the narration was different from the text on the screen. Felt conflicting to have different words being read out versus what was on the slides.
The course was educational and well put together.
Little long on content
It was an excellent review of the goals and objectives of a CFP professional. I appreciate the reminder of the requirements.
Having to sit through oration of what you can read was time consuming and not necessary - not everyone learns through oration. I would prefer some practice questions vs the course walking through scenarios but not allowing us to answer.
The voice used appears to be AI, not a human. It's noticeable and kind of annoying.
It would help if you can add the speed selection option.
This course was too long.
The time component of each slide is so far off reality that it makes the whole course very annoying. I can't think of a good reason why someone set the timer for the slides to be so long, when it takes no more than half the time to get through the material presented.
I like the transcript.
would like to have ability to speed up playback when I listen to lesson. Talking is too slow and there are long pauses at the end of segments. Most other classes allow me to listen at 1.25 or 1.5x.
Good pace, good content. I particularly appreciated information re: objective #4. Also, discussion of technology was helpful given the growth of AI. Maybe address this issue specifically in futue updates?
I like that the transcripts are provided, I'm much more of a visual learner and can read what is said out loud.
The only bad thing was when I finished course it didn't save so I had to start over, but I guess cause I had done it already it let me fast forward the slides. So not so bad after all, but it was crazy when it didn't save my progress and I thought I had to do it again.
The course kept restarting due to API failure
only a couple of slides had volume, and each one took way too long to advance
The automated voice was monotone and made it difficult to stay engaged at times
Should have had some case studies in the course
easy to understand
not having a 2x speed on the video is criminal.
This was pretty simple
Its crazy we are forced to do this every year.
Liked the fact the info had an audio component.
It would have been helpful to know in advance how long the program would take in hours and minutes and also to provide an ongoing indication of remaining time to complete the course.
Maybe an option to speed up audio
It would be nice to be able to speed up the videos. This was one very slow which made it hard to keep my focus at times.
The concepts were clear and easy to follow.
It is very long , hard to find time to sit for 2 hours when you work full time.
There are sections that the audio took longer than reading the slides and the pace of the course could have been accelerated. However, overall it was a good course and I like how clearly things are laid out.
The voice used was very robotic and hard to listen to for an hour. The length of the course was challenging. I know there is a lot of content to cover, but I found myself getting distracted after a while.
Too much material for a 2 hour credit.
Make it more interactive, have quizzes along the way
For a 2 credit hour course this course was extremely long.
Robotic voice difficult to keep attention. Too much lecture. Not enough interaction. Boring.
well designed course!
Please consider including audio speed like you have in your other modules.
Closed captions would be very helpful
It would be nice to have the option to speed up the narration if it is required to listen to everything. Or have the option to read everything rather than having to listen and maybe do a knowledge check to show the reading was done.
Mathis particular course (unlike the others) was glitchy and didn’t save my place in training when returning to it after a break
more interactive
This course was WAAAYY too long for 2 hours of CE.
Took 3 hours to complete because completed chapters on my iphone didn't resume where I stopped.
Would have liked for it to continue and move forward to next slide at least for a full chapter rather than each slide.
Would like to have ability to speed up the voice presentation.
The course felt way longer than it showed online.
Should be reading material. That's incredibly long
Technology needs improvement. I-phone access resulted in several interruptions several disruptions to the presentation. I had to reboot and reenter again on many occasions throughout the seminar.
required too many key clicks to progress. Every thought was interrupted.
It took me longer than 2 hours just to get through the material then i still had to take a test
This is the most pain staking video to watch. The AI Generated voice reader made it even more cringey. This is like reading a dictionary. It is not engaging at all and easy to forget because too much detail is given in an extremely boring manner.
It would have been easier to have a written version of the material so that I could visually review it myself instead of being forced to wait until the videos loaded in order to move between the sections. Also, there was too much time between the end of each lesson and the ability for me to move to the next lesson.
Constantly froze
Please hire a human to read the text. The computer reading the program put weird pauses in places, left off beginnings of words, etc. Obvious it was an algorithm reading and hard to listen to.
Too long - too much time at end of each section - every second counts - make it faster
Course time was almost three hours for a two hour CE
CPE offered by WebCE is useful and cost-effective.
Thank you for the clear summaries and concise videos.
the course seemed a bit long
webce is excellent. My "average" comments are directed towards the ethics material provided by the cfp
Having the presentation read out loud at an extremely slow pace is not effective. Content was good, but the AI readback is horrible.
Transcripts were very helpful to read along with video or reread concepts I did not take in verbally during my participation in the course
Overall good - it was a little slow having to listen verbatim to what the speaker said vs reading the material myself.
The course was too long and went way too far in depth
the quesitons did not reflect what was discussed. Had to sit through and watch several times before passing. Questions were too difficult.
Good course but the voice is robotic sounding. Sounds sort of boring and automated. The actual content of the course was good.
It takes too long to listen to the videos
I disagree with being forced to provide feedback on a numerical scale, so I have answered all required questions with a 1.
it seemed longer than 2 hours. the structure was excellent
As a CFP for 40 years, I enjoyed the modern aspects of the course, such as the Distinction Between Financial advice and financial planning, etc.
the computerized monotone voice got tiring after a while
One enhancement would be to offer an option to increase the course's playback speed. The playback speed is relatively slow.
Seems long for two hours of credit.
The robot/AI voice was atrocious--leveraging technology is one thing, but this was NOT a suitable alternative to an actual human voice leading this course. The entire thing was a slog to get through because of how terrible an experience it is to be read to by a robot. Please do better.
Ridiculous to have an exam for a two hour CE that cannot be read, vs going to a class no exam! Do better, about tired of CFP issues
It would be helpful to have a full transcript of the course in PDF format for later review as well.
Good Ethics Course
It was a good refresher and well organized. Apprceidated the links for later review.
Course takes too long. Should be allowed to test out of taking it.
i liked the aural presentation, but it was a bit monotone.
Had some difficulty getting to the final exam.
This was the most clear and well-organized ethics CE I've taken.
I just wish the voice wasn't so mechanical.
DId not like the video presentation. Listening to an AI voice drone on for an hour and a half is not conducive to learning. I much prefer written information to listening (others will have different preferences, so allow for both). Would have also appreciated a PDF download of the Ethics and Standards.
The voice on this course felt very AI.... Not great to spend so long listening to this drone on and on and on...
could not play on double speed
I should have the opportunity to advance a slide as fast as I can read, not as long as somebody thinks I need to contemplate each one. That was more like 5 hours, not 2.
I do not understand why the CFP board feels it necessary to make this course so lengthy and difficult.
This course took longer than the 2 hours to complete in full
This course needed ability to speed up audio. Very slow pace and long. I read the slides faster than the course progressed.
The AI voice was pretty awful...not being able to choose to just read material instead was not ideal.
It seemed to take longer than two hours.
This course cannot be done in two hours, It is much more complicated and informative and should receive more allowed hours for credit.
There is too much repetition among the 6 courses, intro and conclusion. The course could be reduced by 25% if more care was taken to eliminate repeating the same information several times in different courses. The AI voice is also very irritating, hard to listen to and becomes "noise" toward the end of the very lengthy course.
2x speed please - speaker was too slow
It would be helpful to see what the correct answers were and why, when I failed the exam.
Add alternative investments to CE curriculum
The requirement to listen to every slide is not conducive to some people's work environment. It would be much easier to be able to read through the material at one's own pace.
computer generated audio is awful!
I did not like that we are required to sit through an AI generated voice reading material. The voice does not understand inflections of the English language. If you are going to make us suffer through being read to, please do it with an actual person.
I don’t like that you are forced to watch the video. I can read a transcript faster than the pace of the video
I think this course could be shorter in time and more concise. Other than that, it was well done. No one likes to do CE though so time is of the essence. Thank you!!
When I finished the course it was difficult to arrive at the survey page. it did not automatically populate.
I had to sit through the course twice in order to open the survey and exam. After completing the course the first time, the survey would not open. I had to go in and start from the middle of the course again.
Too long and a lot of redundancy
very good course.
I'm hAVING DIFFICULTY finding the quiz following the course so I can renew my CFP designation
The AI voice was artificial and droned on a bit. Otherwise love WebCE. Jane
Material runs too slow. It would be nice to be able to speed up the presentation.
unnecessarily long
Wish you could listen to it faster. Good info but very slow
I don't like being forced to take a survey to continue
Organization and flow was good. However, requiring to sit through audio of an AI voice that pronounces words wrong and doesn’t have natural voice articulation was hard.
The course is too verbally wordy. Creating more content the CFP certificant can read would be useful.
everything was good - the AI voice isn't perfect, but it gets the job done
I went through the information once. Exited out. When I came back they started me 1/2 way through and I had to complete the course twice
Don't have an AI computer voice read the slides to me... very boring and slow
The AI voiceover was a little clumsy. Otherwise, it was excellent.
The robotic voice made it difficult to pay attention
It would be helpful if there was a speed up option on the audio. I felt like the course was slow
this course was painfully boring and information i already knew. not being able to speed up was criminal.
Great course!!! A bit long, but was probably necessary to cover all of the required topics.
I'd love for it to autoplay the entire course but I understand the reason for not.
Course was precise and complete!
A little long for the content
this was way too long. could be more concise. but i use web ce becuase my company provides this for free
Sound did not work, Very slow process. Good information and content otherwise.
The audio format is unnecessarily cumbersome and slow. Just provide the information and allow the user to read it at their own pace.
I wish there were more quiz questions that were interactive
Having to listen to the computer generated narration was quite annoying. An option to read instead seems reasonable.
should be able to select various speeds to listen and review this course. Its too long. Also, it was difficult to track progress. I got booted out of the course twice. Once i had to start over and the second time I called WebCE and they helped get me back to where I was booted out.
It would be nice to be able to speed up the audio to 1.25x or 1.5x.
Maybe having a real human present the material would make it a better experience
Perhaps hours credit should be reviewed
Pace was too slow. I would like to be able to watch it in 1.25X speed or higher.
THE VOICE OF THE PRESENTER WAS TEDIOUS AND OBVIOUSLY AI GENERATED. THE COURSE WAS VERY REPEDITIVE.
very long and robotic, information was all good but very difficult to follow what appeared to be some computerized or AI narrator
I am essentially deaf. A transcript would have been very helpful.
Easy to navigate and engaging content
it would be great to watch the videos and presentation a faster speed 1.25 or 1.5x would be great.
I kept having to repeat sections I had already completed.
The computer generated voice could be replaced by a human with correct inflection
Good content - Little long
I think there needs to be on option to listen to it at a higher speed. I also think that the monotone does make it more difficult to glean information.
Please implement a speed option. Not everyone can learn and pay attention when delivered at such slow speeds.
Too much intro
This is a continuing education course and I felt that the material was presented as if to a beginner. Also, there is significant duplication of information on slides and it is frustrating to hear the same information multiple times.
I would like to have the option of closed captioning so I can go at my own pace and not have to listen to the droning of the "presenter".
Using an actual human to read/present content. The AI voice was obvious, lacks intonation, etc. It was functional but have a higher expectation for CFP BOARD.
The narrator was monotone and robotic
I find it ridiculous that I had to allow the program to read every slide to me rather than reading it on my own. I required five hours to secure two hours of CE. If I'd receive five hours for listening to five hours then it would be appropriate.
Could have used more real life examples to apply code of ethics.
I feel the course could be condensed a little bit. It is very thorough, perhaps slightly overly so.
Have an option to speed up the speaking part of the videos
The module verbiage is often too verbose and frequently uses the word being defined in the definition of the word itself, thus negating the definition of the word being defined as aforementioned at the beginning of the definition - get it?
The course was too long for the covered topic.
very lengthy content
wish you could listen in 1.5 speed
Have questions along the way for the applicant to answer. Just watching a video is not the best way for most people to learn. They need to practice understanding each section so they know the section before they move on to another one. I think you would get better productivity and understanding by doing so.
I would have preferred more interactive questions on the knowledge checks, but overall a good course refresher
Good course.
Audio vs. the ability to read the material being presented.
Would be nice to have the option to speed up the speed of reading. I am a fast reader and unable to move to the next page for a considerable time. Took way longer than two hours to get through.
There is nothing i would change about the course.
Significantly too long. The new standards have been out for five years. Could have been covered in half the time, or less.
Good format and content. Suggestion is for the check-in question and answers to have me as the participant select the true/false challenge questions or offer other types of questions such as multiple answers. Overall the content has gotten better and the video format was good.
There should have been longer presentations - too many stops and starts for a two hour program
Timing was long
This was a forced 2 hour click by click video - That treated every student as if this was the first time reviewing the concepts. You didn't allow any flexibility for prior experience or ways in which students may learn.
required sitting through videos at slow speed is not optimal
Delivery was a little wooden. Interactive quizzed throughout the course would have been more relevant, but not essential. This is my third time using this course to meet by Ethics CE requirement, so I must like it enough not to look for alternate courses.
More real life examples
On thing I would like in viewing this course is the option to rewind like how most videos let you do 10 or 15 seconds, if you missed something or wanted to hear again it made you rewatch the whole section. There were a few that were longer and would have been nice to rewind.
I'd prefer a course in written format that I can go through at my own pace. I dont like the video format
Too slow.
I have been doing financial services for 25 plus years. Between CFP, Insurance, and Broker dealer education, the time to complete each year is getting out of control. I should not have to wait for a video to read me content. I can read the material faster is it was just normal slides. We are supposed to be working for our clients and instead the overlap in education from all of our licenses piles on to our focus.
Dividing the course into mini sections that required you to click "next" every 45 seconds was so hard. By far the most tedious CE experience of my 26 years as a CFP professional.
Very Long.
this course is way too long
text and voice different. confusing when to read slide and when to listen
the course work doesn't load on my work desktop - the reason unclear, which required me to take on my ipad at a different time and place. the content fully loaded on the ipad but the software appeared to time out without me knowing. One the second day when i went back into the course, it put me back at learning objective 3 even though i successfully went through 100% of the material. Lastly, reading the material would be far quicker than waiting for every page to play. it is a 2 hour CE that took me well over 3 hours.
Content was good. Wish we had the option to speed up the audio.
Kudos to the CFP team who put this fine training together. Great combination of examples, and explanations, and visual icons and maps.
Should not have to click for 2 hours for this course when I have been a CFP for 16 years
It took much longer than 2 hours!!! False labeling
I just spend a mandatory >5 hours clicking through a two-hour CE course. Unbelievable. Big fan of CE and WebCE; 100% of this frustration is with the CFP Board
There was no sound. I followed the text and narrative. It sufficed.
Great course - good reminders.
repetitive. did not like AI reading the transcript. would rather read the material and take the exam.
It would be nice if the audio would be put on accelerated speed, as it felt like it was dragging and slow at times. I understand that the class is 2 credit hours, but I feel the content could be absorbed, even if the duologue speed was increased.
Good course. It would be great if there were an option to choose maybe one and a half or two times the speed on the audio. The narrator speaks the information slowly.
The course was a bit dry... more videos and summaries would have been nice to make it more succinct.
Very digestible content
Audio for slides randomly stopped working towards the beginning, then randomly began working again towards the end. (I tried fixing the audio from my end multiple times.)
The use of an AI generated voice makes it hard to listen to.
I would rather read the course content than have it read to me.
It would be way better if I could increase the speed of the video.
I believe more case studies could be provided.
Took way too long for 2 credit hours
It is somewhat easy to zone out and not solidify the material in ones head with just listening to the AI voice. A more interactive course might help the concepts stick better.
The content was comprehensive, but the AI robotic voice was absolutely terrible to have to listen to for that long.
The text-to-speech was accurate but clunky and certainly not up to professional standards. The CFP video's were dramatically better than the remaining context. It would be more engaging if more vignettes / case studies were worked through
In your course outlines, you hold out other ethics classes available for CFP credit, which do not satisfy the ethics requirements for CFP's. My recommendation would be to make blatantly evident that they do not satisfy that requirement even when called "ethics" courses.
It would be nice if the audio could be played at a higher speed. It took three hours to get through the course rather than the two hours expected for two CE credit hours.
I think using the video to implement the course is very helpful and provides a good context for understanding the elements of the Ethics Course
Course took way too long to get through - I wanted to be able to speed it up but could not.
It seems every renewal period the Ethics training announce the "New Code" without really contrasting the changes to the Code, leaving it unclear what is really "new" and what is old and always has been.
When I finished the course, the system did not acknowledge completion and I had to call in.
You should have 2 or 3 different narrators which would make it more interesting and less 'dry'.
The AI speaker has some errors but overall they were minor
At the end of each slide there was 3-4 seconds of dead air time. For 100+ slides, that adds up to a lot of wasted time.
The speed of the narration was way too slow. I can read the slide in a third of the time it took for the narration to complete.
I wish we could increase the speed of the video. I read faster than the video plays and it took a lot of extra time
Would like more case studies.
excellent course content
Should have a text / read only option.
The computer voice is too monotonous and makes it difficult to focus. The time to go through the course is lengthy given that an exam is required and webcast wouldn't otherwise require an exam if viewed in full. The course content was great and very helpful and informative. Multiple designation credit is also very favorable and the cost was extremely reasonable.
n/a - material was clear, easy to navigate
CFP designed the parameters not web CE. ten minutes of introductions, multiple repetitive elements, and a desire to make this far more complicated than it should be results in the course being mostly ineffective and tedious.
There is a lot of information, and more visuals would be helpful.
All info repeated, feels like almost 3 hrs used up when it could all been conveyed in 45mins.
The inability to watch the videos at an accelerated pace is frustrating. They are often slow to deliver information and it's frustrating to have to wait for the information to be slow-rolled out.
The course was too long. Also unclear about taking the follow up assessment. The assessment should come just after the course then the survey after the assessment.
It would be nice if voice over was less robotic. It would also be nice if playback speed could be increased.
i did not like the narrator. obviously a bot. not engaging at all
slide 24 seems to give the wrong answer to the T/F question. Also, there is a lot of wasted time at the end of each slide before you can advance to the next slide
The pacing of the course could have been quicker. I feel as though I am reviewing nearly the same material every 2 years.
Too much self promoting. Over view of the guides all the way and then another 10 minutes after the ridiculous amount of time to cover information.
This course is longer than 2 hours.
Slide 72 regarding financial planning on a small inheritance. A financial planning discussion can demostrate the opportunity around spending down the inheritance and having a salary deferral equal to the inheritance into a Roth 401k. If a small $30k inheritance is received, after 20 years, the individual would have twice as much given a 10% vs. after tax return of 7%. A great opportunity to leverage value. No money for the CFP, but proper advice only seen through the financial planning engagement. A financial plan properly conducted and reviewed is good for almost anyone.
I had to redo 1/3 of the study because it did not capture it the first time.
would like to increase the play speed to 1.5 or 2x
More case studies and multiple choice questions at the end of each Objective would be helpful.
For my very visual learning style - being restricted to waiting on the audio and video before moving on in the material rather than being able to move on when I was finished reading the transcript made the length of course more distracting. I understand this is to prevent people from powering through without retaining the information, but i found the audio continuing for a minute or two after I had finished reading meant I was more likely to be distracted by the other things going on around me.
It was fine. The monotone voice can be worked on.
The AI reading is tough.
Just a little boring. The case studies help a bit.
The course takes too long because you have to wait for it to be read to you.
Explanation of leaving the course and reentering the course on a later day could be better. For example warn the course taker that when they leave the course, at any point, the program will always show "0" completed.
Why in the world does it make you sit on a slide for 30+ seconds that has one sentence on it over and over and over again? Terrible
I know this was designed by CFP board. Format is terrible. No interaction. A computerized voice reading slides is no way to learn.
took longer than 2 hours listening to recorder say every word.
so long. most of these you can just take the test.
More videos would have made it more interesting
Add button to listen at 1.25x or 1.5x
This course was a little glitchy. When I exited and came back to continue, I wasn’t taken back to the exact place I left off.
I would have preferred the option of reading the text vs. listening. To me the course took longer than necessary, and there was dead time at the end of every slide before you could progress to the next one.
Needs more CASE work and more Q&A sessions to show examples
The narration is too long. It took way more than two hours to go through each page. It would be much better to give the person the option of turning off the narration.
Easy to navigate and well put together.
I like how you can go at your own pace. Can stop for a while and pick up where left off
Course did freeze up on several occasions
I do feel like the AI voice that narrated the slides was too slow. I also feel that this program should just be offered directly from the CFP site given it was obviously built by the CFP.
For me, the audio content wasn't helpful as I am a visual learner and prefer reading.
be able to adjust speed of videos. They were way too slow
AI voice for the narration of the entire course was incredibly jarring. In the future, could you have someone read the same material or put relevant information in the slides and turn off the need for the narration to be completed before continuing? Thank you!
would rather read than listen to audio
Not allowing me to start the exam until I take the "state required " survey is wrong. These are clearly not state required questions. Lying to your customers angers them and makes them leave.
Slide presentation was way too slow
I truly thought that was one of the most comprehensive, organized CE that I have completed.
computer voice with ZERO inflection and mispronunciation of simple words was horrendous. SO long a morning I was sleeping so many times. I am considering cancelling CFP because this is so embarrassingly terrible. awful lazy and sad.
Loved the presentation style
Enjoyed the audio and visual delivery of information.
I would like to be able to read the material more quickly than it is read to me. The monotone voice put me to sleep.
In general, I think the information provide was fairly thorough. I sometimes found that the information on the slides did not coincide with what the speak was saying. But overall the information is there and that's probably what matters.
speed up a bit. pretty slow
The technology did not work well, and I had to watch the full course multiple times, so it was not an efficient use of time.
The program was "Read" by a monotone AI voice which was not engaging and if anything, made the material dry & boaring.
The course had too many clicks. Most of it your can read through shouldn't have to sit and listen to every single word the narrator is speaking too. At least let it run longer before you need to click or let us read it.
There were some very long "dead air“ points when the audio for the slide wss over and before you could advance to the next one.
It would be helpful if the speed of audio playback can be adjusted.
This is the best CFP Ethics course I have ever taken. It was clear, held my interest, and a reasonable effort to complete.
CFP Board content was great and learning objectives were certainly met. The technology was good and easy to use. I gave a generally poor rating of the course for the reasons below: (1) The course is not self-study (it's an on-demand webinar). I've always bought a course with downloadable pdf and online exam, and that's what I had been expecting this time. (2) You don't learn that it's not self-study until you've already purchased the course and started it. (3) When taking the webinar, you are not permitted to fast-forward through sections you already know and understand. In what universe is it acceptable to waste someone's time forcing them to go through materials they already know? (4) You're forced to listen to a droning AI voice read the presentation. (5) There was no closed caption except during the video role play. I suppose a significantly hearing-impaired person like me could raise a big stink over that. Due to the nature/content of the presentation, a lot of it was written on the screen and the narration was quite clear so it wasn't a problem in this instance. I had expected a downloadable pdf and online exam, like I've taken so many times in the past. Artificially requiring one to spend 120 minutes glued to a limiting webinar is unconscionable for those who can demonstrate they already know the material and just need some refresher/review.
Video was professional but slow delivery method.
Make the knowledge checks interactive and allow the learner to select their answer.
Transcripts were helpful. Overall excellent course!
I didn't care for the AI generated narration. Also didn't care for the restriction on moving forward. I can read faster than the pace of the narration. Overall, a good course.
ease of use
Not a good thing to be forced to watch all slides
Figuring out the order of things to do could have been organized a little better. Had to fumble around a bit before seeing what I needed to do.
The CFP Board is treating us CFPs like we cant read and study on our own without watching a video, this is below us and not professional. Make the video presentation optional and let us study and read.
I think the course covered Ethics very thoroughly.
It was very long.
Too long
Being forced to watch every bit of this boring video with information that I have been using for 20 years as a CFP was a complete waist of my time. Your first five years of practice, each year, yes. After 20+ years without a blemish on my record and I should NOT have to watch this video at gunpoint!
Didn't like that I had to go through each section with audio. Would have preferred written summary pages that I could read at my speed and skip if I already know the material. This course didn't allow skipping which wasted a lot of my time.
comprehensive, easy to understand
I would include a Play at Speed 1.25 or 1.5 to process through more quickly. More Videos would also be helpful. More Knowledge Checks along the way. May 3-5 questions each Learning Objective. Thank you & God bless
good material
The presenter notes that there are links to additional material. Not sure where to find them before closing the course.
Instead of providing the answers to learning check-ups, make these multiple-choice questions the student needs to answer.
The tone of the AI voice makes it challenging to stay engaged
Did not clearly save my place but i was always able to get back in at the 'resume' point
Great but I would like to read it myself vs. voice
It was an excellent review.
A bit long and repetitious
The real-life (well, fictional but representing real-life) were helpful.
The course was excessive for what is the same mandatory information as last year and every year. The tool could use a speed regulation like most other learnings tools and modern videos.
I would prefer a longer test with the ability to miss more questions. Having to get nine right out of twelve is a lot more difficult than say getting 14 right out of 20. Then I couldn't even review the questions I got wrong even though it says I could.
I do wish some of the modules would let us choose the correct answer instead of just going over the answers. Great course!
Would have liked more case studies or real life events used in the presentation, I think it would add interest and relevance.
The computer generated voice was terrible. Either hire a voice actor to read the material, or let me read it myself.
Sometimes the dialogue did not match the verbiage which made it a challenge to fully understand information
This course seemed WAY longer than 2 hours.
Would suggest more time on actual case studies Otherwise very good
Would prefer to proceed at own pace rather than controlled video. Also prefer more interactive question and answer.
The AI/robot voice is distracting and makes the course feel cheap. It is easier and more pleasant to follow a real human reading.
I thought the course was well organized and presented clearly. I didn't like that I had to wait for each slide to complete before I could go to the next one. I could read faster than it could go in some cases. My time is at a premium. I feel like mastery of the topic is critical not the time spent going through the slides. There was a lot of info covered. I liked the quizzes along the way; it made the course more interactive. I wish there was some more of this; it helps keep me engaged. Finally, the estimated time at 2hours wasn't accurate for me. Some of the topics I needed to review. This material is required every two years. I try to block time on my calendar so I can study and take the test. When it's inaccurate, it's hard for me to knock it out in one sitting b/c I come up against another appointment.
Well organized and understandable
Course was good but very redundant
This material took way longer than 2 hours
Everyone learns at a different reading level. I understand the importance of two hours of ethics, but it would be great if you could speed up the video/narration.
I liked the links to additional resource materials.
Please allow the option to listen a 2X or 3X times.
its too long. Its more than 2 hours. Then when you factor in the test, its way more than 2 hours. and the speech is too slow. it should be accelerated to about 1.25x
Great improvement over prior years. Very nice to see the practical application and usage of all the different topics.
Great content
This course was glitchy and forced me to listen to the same material several times because the website stopped working and didn't save my previous work.
please allow the watching speed to be increased. I do better at 1.5-2.0 speed to stay engaged.
need 2x speed
Good program. Well done. However, on more then one occasion the program content was repetitive.
material is very applicable and provided clarity of CFP Standards and expecations.
there was no opportunity to take the knowledge check. how does that happen/
it would be nice to be able to speed up the content to 1.25 speed atleast
the course took way more than 2 hours
This course was much longer than it needed to be. I also have to say I think it is a shame that the code of conduct has to be so explicitly explained due to unethical people earning their CFP. I feel that most of the ethical practices should be something in your nature if you are truly looking out for your clients.
I wish it would have continuously played instead having to click through each slide.
Use an actual human being for the reading of this material. The audio is horrendous.
Excellent delivery of the ethics content.
I most disliked the use of an AI narrator. His occasional odd speech rhythms and mispronunciation was quite distracting and somewhat off-putting.
This was a great overall CE course. A preferred enhancement would be to have a few interactive sections.
Good course, very comprehensive.
An option to read material and progress at my own pace would be helpful.
I liked that it would run through examples and questions throughout. Helps with understanding and retention of material
There were 2 different versions of the Duties of CFP Professional that I found confusing. On the 2nd chart under Learning Objective 3 the arrows seemed to show that the Fiduciary Duty applies at All Times and When Providing Financial Advice, which is different to the prior chart and the narrated materials. Also in the Scenario for Integration Factors, the narrator gave 2 different pronunciations of "Malik" - sometimes he said "MAL-ik" and other times "Ma-LEEK". This was culturally insensitive in my opinion to not pronounce the name consistently with the latter being the most common pronunciation.
Nice audio presentation, did not drone or drag..
The course takes very much longer than 2 hours. I think there should be more credit given for this course because of the length.
Great program, easy to use.
i liked the availability of the links to the checklists etc throughout the presentation. The links weren't consistently active though. great presentation far better than previous ethics certified programs I've tried.
great course, just bit too lengthy! thank you
Listening to AI for 2 hours straight was insulting; if this is such an important topic, more should be done to provide an effective and stimulating presentation
Narration voice should be changed. Very hard to listen to for that long.
Two things I would like to see changed. First, at the end of some segments there are a couple seconds of dead air before you can move on. Second, it would be nice if you could speed up or slow down the playback of the materials. Some parts are very familiar and i would like to speed those up and other sections are unfamiliar and I would like to be able to slow those down to take more comprehensive notes.
After almost 40 years of being a CFP, this information was redundant. It was frustrating to have to listen to someone talk rather than reading the material.
I wish we could increase the speed of the speaker.
My progress was not saved when I moved from my computer to my phone and back to computer. I lost almost an hours worth of progress in the course and had to do it again. That feels like a big waste of time! I think the questions should have been able to marked in 'knowledge check' areas.
Anything more interactive would be helpful during the presentation.
Class was too long. Very redundant
The AI voice really got old after a while. It would have been nice to break it up with more videos or other speakers
I thought it clearly demonstrated the course objectives and liked the format used.
Very informative and user-friendly.
I would prefer the knowledge checks throughout to require me to answer vs. just giving answers. Also, some slides had long lags before you could move on. I would prefer ability to spend more time with the slides I need to vs. mandated lags to move on for transitional slides.
Make it more interactive.
needs a real human voice and interactive knowledge checks where you can click your answers
ability to speed up the dialogue to 1.25x or 1.5x
Way too long, way way too long. I do not need a computer generated voice to read this content to me.
Took too long to get through all the material.
People have different ways of learning. I think one of the most difficult is listening to someone talk for 2+ hours. I prefer reading at my own pace and retracing when something doesn't make sense. So, I didn't care for this method.
Great product. I miss Leo's voice as he narrated many of the earlier CFP offerings when they came up with the 7 Step Financial Planning Process.
It would have been nice to speed up the pace of talking, like you can in an audiobook
Well organized course
It was great material
Course was long.
Illustration was great and each point explained in detail
Video is not my preferred method of learning. I could not get the volume up sufficiently to hear clearly. The pacing was very slow with no way to move through the material once I had read the slide and transcript.
would be good to have an auto forward to the next section rather than having to click next each time
If listening via the audio functioning is going to be required, have an actual person read the material instead of a robot so it's easier to listen to and more realistic. Would love the option to read the material instead of having to listen. The graphic cartoon was a good break from the other delivery methods.
not enough interaction - only to click next
I did not like the individual taking when i can read a lot faster. Too much wasting time
Excellent course and the videos and example questions were very helpful.
Slow video
very good course
More practice questions, please.
Shorten the required video times or provide text to read and review without a time requirement to complete the course.
I wish there were a way to go at 1.25 or 1.5 speed
The very end was a little unclear... ie., how to move from the videos to the survey and exam
Too long for the amount of content, artificial voice was sleep inducing, and narratives of case studies by real people would help.
too slow
Minimize audible reading word for word of the material on the slide. The narrator should enhance the material - not repeat it.
the forced audio was very robotic and off-putting
being able to increase the speed of the audio would be really helpful
clear language and details -like review questions I like to answer the questions
The Menu had two typos: Componenets of the Fiduciary and Selecitng and Using Technology
Seemed way too long for the content. Lots of fluff and unnecessary slides - many slides that were no content, just fluff. Content is needed and good but could have been 20% less time
It is difficult to take a survey and rate the course's effectiveness before taking the exam. I cannot determine if the course was effective as I have not passed the test yet. Otherwise the format ands presentation of material was very good.
Watching videos of someone reading a PowerPoint is time consuming to the point of wasting time. More efficient to read the materials myself and take the test. If there was any suplementation to what was printed on the slide that may have made it more interesting.
The whole content centers around obligations of the CFP but completely avoids requirements of the client to provide recent statements, tax returns, or any relevant information that could make any financial plan and recommendations erroneous. The client has obligations too and the CFP board should start to communicate that and have a hold harmless statement.
I understand the need to make sure ethics are understood extremely well, especially on our industry. However I wonder if the way we do continuing education is effective where we are locked in to 2 hours of content on materials that haven't significantly changed recently or are easily accessible in short brochures. Perhaps there could be a beginning exam to confirm competency and a shorter course with reminders of any missed questions or content not asked about in the questions. Then an exam about the questions covered in the shorter course. This could help show competency without having to spend time too much time on information already understood by the CFP professional.
Why the lockdown on the videos? We are professionals and if we can pass the exam by reading, we should be allowed.
Would have preferred the option to read at my own pace.
Frustrating on how slow the narration proceeded. Much better if you allowed us to read it.
Course took much longer then 2 hours to get credit for.
Confusing at the end to take the exam and survey.
Course is too long.
Too long and time consuming!
many modules had multiple seconds of dead air, and you can't click ahead so it created a longer training than necessary.
good examples and knowledge check ins
Tedious; please shorten unnecessary narrative and dead video time
not being able to turn off the automatic auditory was a problem
Would like to have a speed through option since I read the material quickly.
More videos Actual examples of sanctions that happed to advisors who violated the code.
I didn't like that there was no indication of the length of time the program would take.
The first few questions are difficult to answer without testing my knowledge to see how effective the training is. The evaluation should be after the test.
I prefer courses without the oral presentation-slows things down-the voice was boring.
I have used the WEB CE for years. It is very easy platform to use.
Since this is mostly CFP Board materials, it would be great for them to offer a online version of this class for all CFP Professionals continuing education requirements.
I despise the video format. Put it back in PDF form
Very repetitive and I felt it was an add for CFP materials
Much of the course information was given orally was not available to where I can read the information. Would like to be able to read important information.
Allow a speed-up of the playback. Reduce the amount of dead air at the end of several of the modules.
BORING. Long for material and should be way for existing CFP to not have to rehash same material over and over again and only need relevant updates and quick refresher
I didn't like that I couldn't just read through the content at my pace- I had to listen to the speaker before moving forward.
I think the course took too long. Add a higher talking speed on the application would help.
a bit to long and reduntant
Cant watch at faster speed, way to slow for folks like myself who do not learn from audible learning like this.
I read faster than the program plays. I found myself reading the transcripts and moving through the material faster than the program moved. Can this be moved to a readable file instead of a file that requires constant button pushing?
It is too long for a 2 hour course - but eventually got through it - It could be a 3 or 4 hour course - it would meet the 2 hour requirement but give credit for the length of the subject
Just seemed very long and time consuming for just 2 hours of CE. Took longer
Way too slow
The computer generated voice and the speed was unbearable. It was entirely disengaing and monotonous
Not able to skip through parts already known
This course took a long long time to get through. The slides were slow and I found myself moving to my other screen at times.
It took me a while to find the Survey link. Might be nice for it to be in Red or something. Just a thought.
More case studies or scenarios would make this more engaging
This course was very informative and easy to follow. Thank you.
I liked the slide format
The state survey could be more visible and find.
very easy to use. information was presented in a clear logical manner.
Having someone read to me for 2 hours does not enhance my ethics or financial planning education. However, I understand that this is part of what is required and I don't fault the content provider.
Could be more interactive
the first several times I tried to access my course it kept freezing and then I thought I was done but my progress did not save and I had to relisten to the last 40%
Good course although the artificial/mechanical narrator's voice was a bit annoying.
You need a 15Sec back button. Also, more case studies.
More videos and knowledge questions
I would like to have working scenarios during the sessions. Helps keep you engaged.
too much audio without text. I like to read all text that is spoken to cover multiple learning styles
Requiring watching the video at the slow normal speed is agonizing. It should be allowed to be listened to up to 2x or 3x speed as it is too boring at normal speed.
I think it would be appropriate to allow for 1.5x speed. Perhaps the CFP Board doesn't want that. It is a little slow and otherwise very good and clear. Thank you
Ridiculous that had to watch a slow video instead of being allowed to read the material!
It sounds like AI or someone very bad at voiceovers is reading the material. The pace, pronunciation, and phrasing are almost distracting at times.
way too long. Should be able to go through the materials on our own without having to watch every minute.
The information was excellent but the depth of information was too much and too much repetition with very slow reading. At the end of each slide there were a few seconds of dead time where nothing was said. When the talking ended the slide should end so we can move on and not waste time. The presentation could be much shorter and more entertaining. Feels like it was written by an attorney. Not interested in taking that class again.
Generally ok, a little too rules based instead of principles based though
I think you should be able to go full screen on this program. Difficult to see in such a small window.
provide speed change option on the slide deck to increase/decrease the voice component
Why does it take so long to complete? I can read the transcript much quicker than your narrator. Let me read the materials, not force me to be read to. Frustratingly slow process that took longer than 2 hours to complete -- for only 2 hours of CE credit. Unreal set up.
Very good review of the Code and how it impacts our every day work
On last few slides, related to resources, at least two ones came back with 404 error. CFP website's link to Code in Standards links to October 1, 2019. Overall course was reasonable in duration and content.
I have been a CFP since 1989. This was by far the WORST ethics course I have every taken. It was too controlling. I would prefer to read at my own pace which is far quicker than the audio. It was dull and hard to retain since it was not at the pace I am accustomed to learning. I am not a HS student who needs to be babysat while I do an online course. THis was insulting to someone like me who has been in practice for decades and never had an disciplinary issues and had to be forced thru this audio/visual presentation.
Super course
The course was excellent but a bit too lengthy for the number of credit hours issued. The pace of the narrator was a bit slow. I could read or listen faster to accomplish goals.
Very good information and right length of time for review.
takes too long - most of this is review so it shouldn't take 2+ hours to "review"
this couse is overly wordy. It is overly repeditive. It has a odd need to waste time numbering things.
On recorded material, I listen to everything at a speed of at least 1.75x. Being forced to listen to the material at "regular" speed is excruciating. The course is designed to limit the ability to advance the slide based on listening to the material, but if that can be done at a faster speed, please let the user consume the material more quickly ??
The AI voice was distracting due to mispronunciation of some words and clunkiness of parenthetical statements and lists.
Great course and content. I'm a repeat customer over many years.
this course should be 3 CE to fulfill the MN insurance requirement.
Good course layout and material refresher.
Web CE products are generally excellent! This is terrible. The narration is monotone. It's boring. I clicked ahead as often as I could because I can read MUCH fast than the exceedingly slow narration. I hope my clicking forward out of frustration didn't hinder my retention of the material. Overall, I love webCE but this class was brutal.
Some interactive quizzes along the way would be helpful.
Program was done very well !
The ability to have the speech speed increased would be beneficial. I often listen and absorb material at 1.25 or 1.50 speed and can manage to retain information successfully.
Good course. I would like to be able to change the rate of the player.
This was really thorough, but in my opinion way too long
when you save in the middle of the course and when you come back the system goes back to the beginning.
Consider making the intermittent questions at the end of each learning objective interactive.
Program progress status bar would be appreciated. Plus, the AI reading could be improved to sound too robotic.
Mind-numbing, just let us read at our own pace
Had to do the course twice per technical difficulties/error/bug
Control of playback speed would be helpful
The person reading the material was not good. There should be an option to read the material without listening to the speaker.
It was thorough but boring.
The narration using a computer generated voice was annoying.
Not a fan of the AI robot voice.
Excellent course
Would be much more tolerable if we could read the information rather than having it read to us. I have terrible retention of things I'm read.
There should be an option to read or listen to content
Quit with the power points. Should be a video that I can watch without having to click a million times. Also too much content. KEEP IT SIMPLE.
the pages were too SLOW!
I thought the information was good and relevant, it was just long. Two hours is a long time to listen to this material and the number of reviews of the planning process seemed excessive.
More examples are always better. Reviewing the table of contents for the practice standards would have been helpful.
The audio that was inserted for the enforcement section was not mastered with the rest and was louder and not equalized well.
The software failed in the middle of the course.. Had to start all over requiring more time.
It was way too long. Took forever to cover the topics
The AI narrator is unprofessional in its delivery of verbal content. It is very clear it is artificial and comes off very sterile and calls to question how serious CFP Board is about delivering this content with quality in mind. The overuse of minority names in the examples is distracting, especially when the AI narrator mispronounces them. This could be construed as insensitive and perhaps insulting by some. In other words, do this correctly or not at all. My thoughts.
There is nothing worse than sitting for a presentation and having the presenter read the slides. Try to adjust the voice over person's comments to not read the slides.
I would prefer that I not get all the information for information while taking this course. Once it's completed, I shouldn't have to go on a shopping spree prior to being able to complete.
Very thorough
I appreciate there is no fast forwarding, however, I was under the impression the total time necessary is two hours, and it took more than two hours.
It would be nice to have a different voice that wasn't dull and unengaging
That took longer than it should have. If you would have made the format like other CE instead of making me wait for the narration to stop on each page, I would have absorbed more content.
I had to take the course twice because the progress wasn't recorded, which was pretty frustrating
The mechanical speaking did not match what was being portrayed so listening was hard. This should be changed.
Course play back speed was too slow.
Extremely boring. No real interaction. Voiceover was very draining. Make the learning more interactive. Include reinforcement questions throughout the training emphasizing key points. These answers will ensure keep points are learned and retained. Use the knowledge questions as a basis for the after training exam.
I found the scenarios explaining how to apply the information helpful. Thank you.
difficulty in finding where to click to start new topics
There was a lot of wasted time between the time the presenter finished a slide and we were able to advance to the next page. That could be improved.
The audio is not good, very monotone, sounded like AI, made me tired. I prefer reading my material for my learning style. The last video had to play twice before it would let me move on to the end.
Acknowledging that the CFP Board controls the content of this course, WebCE did an excellent job of producing the course. That said, the CFP Board's required content is very basic, repetitive, and unnecessarily burdensome. The videos require two hours of attention. I could have read and absorbed the identical content in the form of transcripts in 15-30 minutes with equal comprehension. It seems that CFP Board requires spending two hours on this course simply for the sake of spending two hours on the course rather than metering whether CFP(r) certificants have read and absorbed the substance of the content in however short a time might be necessary to do so. I appreciate WebCE's efforts in producing the course. The CFP Board's requirement to spend no less than 2 hours on the material is redundant.
I personally prefer learning by reading than video so my evaluation is somewhat biased
This particular course was extremely slow and redundant. Having the ability to speed up the course would be helpful. Also, taking actual practice questions would be more engaging.
Generally I think WebCE's courses are excellent. Sorry to say this is the worst WebCE course I have ever taken. I hated the fact that there was no option to read the course content, and that you were forced to listen to the speaker. Many people, including me, are visual rather than aural learners. I prefer it when your courses have the option to read or listen to the content, and when you leave that decision to the user.
This course was clear, efficient, and easy to follow. I appreciated how it covered the key concepts without dragging on, and the interface made it really easy to track progress and complete the final exam. I’d definitely use WebCE again for future CE credits.
You should have a real person, read the material versus a bot. Also, you should have the ability to speed up this program to one and a half times.
Having more interaction would be helpful. Even the questions were not interactive, they simply asked then gave you the answer.
I wasn't expecting to have all the material read to me. Takes too much valuable time. Instead of reading the material to me, insert quizzes along the way to test for comprehension.
1) FAQ link is broken., please update (I can find it at website, but slide isn't working as intended. (2) No way to get from completion of course to Exam, now it's asking me to start over. (3) if there's any way to allow for the slide to move forward ("next") when the narrator completes, rather than the pause/delay, that would be a mercy.
This exam was way too long. I wish I'd known it was a CFP Board product.
Having what sounds like AI reading the slides is tedious. Although the material is good and important surely there is a better, more dynamic way to present the information.
Way toooo long. U have figured out how to say the same thing numerous times and beat the same info to death
Material was better presented than in years past.
The use of AI voiceover was distracting.
Small point but important. If an interruption in the course is necessary, a quick way to stop the course can be vital. One's cursor is usually resting on the Next button, then one has to quickly scroll over to the normal Stop Video button. It would be nice to have a Pause button close to the Next button.
HAVING TO CLICK TO EACH PAGE WAS RIDICULOUS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER TO HAVE A VIDEO OR MUCH MORE MATERIAL PER PAGE.
too long of blank time at the end of each slide. A waste of time. probably 5 minutes in total
Change up the course. Have different slides, video, and voices/people talking. It was a little boring. Same voice for 2 hours.
a little lengthy yet very good Thx U
It would be nice if the technology allowed you to increase the speed of the slides.
My course kept bring me back to areas that I had finished.
The format of this presentation is pretty dull. More videos and more interactive exercises would be better for engagement.
The course was concise and informative. This is the 2nd consecutive time I used WebCE to satisfy my CFP Ethics requirement.
Course was too long and tedious.
More real life examples would be helpful
I have had my CFP for over 10 years, I should be allow to take the exam if I don't pass it I would be required to take the course.
The reason I gave some negative ratings is due to the technology during the CFP board online learning. Every slide had 3 - 5 seconds and a few had closer to 10 seconds of dead air after the completion of the audio before it would allow me to click the "next" button. Given the large quantity of slides (which was appropriate for the amount of content), the combination of all of these short delays was a massive waste of time. Please correct this for future users.
dislike that you don't really answer the questions as you go.
Thank you for this course. I had a few thoughts: - The CFP Board FAQs link does not work. - When you are listening to the content and also reading it on the page, it makes it confusing what is actually being covered voice vs. page content. It might be better to format it so not all information shows up on the page at once, but specifically when the voice over is talking about that particular part.
The pacing was frustratingly slow. I read much faster than this content was delivered to me. Or, when I watch videos or listen to other audio content, I usually listen at 1.7x - 2.0x speed. This was painful!
If the narrator didn't use CFP Professional every 3rd sentence, the program would be much shorter yet information covered.
Thorough and effective.
The voice reading the material is robotic. I didn't like that I couldn't enlarge the window.
Add playback speed button, I prefer audio at 1.5 to 2x speed.
This video series was infuriating. Each talking point is 15 seconds requiring a click to move forward. The video was also robotic.
The content was good. The course was a little long with all the videos, but the information was good.
Video’s wouldn’t run on PC with Chrome - had to switch to iPad.
very slow - having the audio made it very long and seemed redundant
It is painfully boring. Prefer a quicker review of the rules followed up with cases and progress questions versus reading over every rule.
The words from presenter were not always the same as the words on the screen. It made it harder to follow the presentation.
This was the BEST ethics CE course I have taken! For so long, many of the ethic courses were too obtuse and legalistic, and did not make sense as a 20+ year practitioner . I also appreciated the reference to the website tools.
I like to read a t my own pace and not have timed.
The presentation was longer than necessary to adequately convey the information.
would be good for the audio to have an option for 1.5 times the reading speed
More of an outline format for those who have ADD. Subject topics that you can drill down on would help increase focus, retention, and the ability to further explore topics of interest
I Learn best reading the material. I wish you had that option.
I have used WebCE for years and find the products to be very user-friendly and reasonably priced.
Well done and good video support material.
took much longer than the stated hours for CE
I don't like videos. They take too long. I could have read through this in 1/4 the time, which I would certainly prefer.
I don't like that I am required to take a survey to complete the course. I will use another service next time.
I like the case studies to show how the rules apply
Very easy to follow the path of instructions and requirements. The voice was clear and easily understood Well done.
Best Ethics coarse to date , learned a lot. Complicated rules made simple and understandable.
Sound cut out in a couple of sessions midway through and there are a few spelling mistakes on the section titles.
Don't have such long pauses at the end of the slide. Let us click faster
took more than 2 hours
The pauses at the end of each section were too long, had to wait through silence before clicking next.
Would be helpful if the knowledge checks were inputs from the user instead of another recording.
Sometimes the dialog doesn't exactly follow the words on the screen and it is distracting
Could have conveyed all information in 1/3 of time allocation with higher degree of participant retention. Too long and wordy. Thank you!
It's absurd that we have IAR ethics requirements and CFP ethics requirements but the two are not interchangeable. Feels a bit unethical... and just a money grab...
A lot of the content was basic. I would have liked to learn about more complex ethical issues.
Great course. Easy to follow.
As a visual learner and not an auditory one, I don't like information being read to me for a whole course. I think parts, especially the intro chapters should have an option to read and not listen. However, the slides seemed to have good information from the audio. Since I won't take the test until after the survey, I cannot share if the learning material is adequate for the test material.
Forcing CFP certificants to listen to an AI voice for 2 hours rather than hiring a proper voice actor is fairly insulting
Too long and dry. Would rather have a transcript I can read through at my own pace. Monotone voice put me to sleep.
The course continuously froze and it took longer than necessary to get through because of that.
It would be helpful if you had the ability to read the slides and click on your own instead of waiting for the audio to finish.
Great course.
If CFP is going to make the Ethics course so long they should reward more than two hours of CE.
I would have appreciated having a play speed feature that allowed me to listen to the slides faster.
The visuals are excellent - it would be great if we could use these within our practice - these clearly display the range of our services and responsibilities in the clearest slides I have seen.
Somewhat repetitive and lengthy
I appreciate the downloads available as I went through the course.
The AI voice reading the script for 2 hours was brutal. Hire someone to read it next time.
Course was too long. Computer voice was flat and dull which made the presentation somewhat boring
The course consisted of someone reading a script in a monotone voice. The graphics were minimal. As a visual learner, I found this course boring and hard to listen to. Wouldn't order any other CE credits from here.
Long. Took significantly longer than 2 hours to complete.
For a hearing impaired person, the voice used was not easy to hear.
the voice is so heavily computerized its hard to maintain my attention. The cadence is off putting
The AI reading the material was not great. Word mispronunciations were distracting and the voice was dull and droning.
Even though I was clicking "Next" almost as soon as it was available, the course took me over 2.5 hours to complete for a 2-hour CE. It should be noted somewhere at the beginning of the course how long the actual recorded materials are, so that we can plan out time accordingly.
Why we are not given the portion to speed up or slow down through the content as we see fit. Too much information and time discussing CFP publications
Requiring the disclosures to be read out loud at the start and finish of the section is a complete waste of time.
It took more than 2 hours just to click through the program. Close to 3 actually. Either the program needs to be shortened or more credits given. Also, there were technical difficulties a couple of times that put me back a few slides & I had to sit through them again without the option of going back to where I left off.
For almost all of the slides a AI robot voice narrated and it was not very natural.
The student should be allowed to choose to have the program read or to be able to read through the content themselves.
would like to have a 1.25x speed option. this material is better absorbed with writing complementing the spoken word. so slow this program, especially since we take the ethics course every year with CE requirements it's all the same
I feel like it could have been shorter or given the option to click through.
Would LOVE the ability to play the video course at 1.25 or 1.5 speed. I listen to everything on the faster side.
CFP makes the process take twice as long as necessary the slow talking videos are frustrating a guide to review would be sufficient and much more time efficient for fast readers
It would be nice if there were the option to accelerate the video playback, to quicker learners.
Narrator sounded like a robot or AI.
Would like to see more case studies
Waste of time waiting to advance to the next section. Don’t stretch the content over 2 hours if there isn’t enough. And get a better voice over. Painful.
listening was brutal listening and slow. having to click next it seemed over 100 times please stream line the course content good process wearing
Good course, a bit long though
Some slide descriptions are too long.
It bothers me that the course is structured to have somebody merely ready the content on the screen. I think case studies and scenarios would have both greater impact and better retention.
The course was good! Just a little boring...
It is a waste of time to have the program read slides to me and wait for music to end and pauses. Provide more case studies and interactive knowledge assessments.
Too long. Took way too much of my time for something that could have been done faster and still cover the topic
It was long, but a great review
It felt like it took longer than 2 hours to watch all the videos
I liked that the course was available audibly in it's entirety. For my particular learning style, I would have been even better if there was the capability to view the transcript and slide at the same time, to be able to follow along in the text, while the audio was rolling, as well as having the slide in view.
too much redundancy in videos-
The course was too long.
The content itself was wonderful, however, I don't feel like it addressed enough examples of real world situations. It mainly focused on memorizing the steps and stages and not real life examples of ethical decision making
overall the coursework was good
I don't beleive a forced "next" click after each page increases learning of the material. I believe the material would be more easily absorbed it it was more succinct and focused more on the practice of ethics rather than the memorization of the names of the steps and their specific language.
Broken link to the CFP Board FAQ page in 3rd to last slide.
course was complete and enjoyable
The content could be communicated in a shorter amount of time.
2 hours credit for code of ethics course is too short. This course took 3 hours to complete.
Way too long, cut this one short!
WebCE has consistently provided high quality CE courses and this Ethics course is no exception. The significant updates from 2024 were very well covered.
I do not like the "reading" portion of the content. While listening and reading is a good way to learn, it lengthened my time to study the subject.
Digital voice is horrible. Please add an actual human. If the course is listing things, show them as they are being mentioned.
Please have a human present the content. AI is getting better, but having a monotone computer read this material is rough. Also many slides have 3-15 second delay after the end of the talking before you can click on the next. That should be tightened up so it is 1 second delay at max. Thank you,
It would be nice to be able to adjust the speed of the videos.
Very repetitive
The course felt VERY long. Being forced to listen to each page made sure each person puts in the time, but it also really stretched out the time it took to complete the course.
Wish you could just read the material instead of it being a video to listen to.
I thought it was great - very polished and user friendly. No constructive ideas for improvement. Thank you!
That it was so long and the video presentation was draining. It would have helped to been able to watch videos at a faster speed, or provide written text.
The course was too long and repetitive.
I really don't like being forced to watch videos of someone reading a script. I can read 10x faster than someone can talk. I don't get any more information or learning. Using videos for actual cases might work, but not sure it's better. I know other people prefer video. I would just like the option of text only.
Course was as expected.
liked the ability to read the text as well as listen prefer some more real life examples to apply
I know this is tough material and boring - nothing you can do about that. the Ai voices were a little slow and monotone. please try to spice it up a little - hard not to fall asleep. basically though a good course that does its job.
Completed the course. Upon completion, I hit exit and none of my progress was saved. This is very frustrating after two hours. Had to call in a thankfully the person took my word for it that I actually did the course, but he shouldn't have had to do that if WebCE just worked properly. I am using Chrome, and had one and only one window open the entire time so not sure what went wrong. Thanks.
CFP Board takes 2 hours to cover material that could be covered in 1 hour!
Make it possible to just read the transcript. Recordings took way too long.
Please don't do videos that just read the slides. We can read them and retain much quicker than the required timeline to read the slide
Recommend some interactive material in the course.
Too long, too slow and who loves listening to a computer talk? Much can and should be edited.
Once I completed the course material, it said I was NOT complete. I called WebCE and they were VERY helpful and said this is common, but it is not ok! She reset me to show completion so I could take the exam. The CFP board needs to correct this aspect of the technology.
I know it's a lot of content, but unless I missed it, I didn't see anywhere how much time I would need to set aside to listen to the material. And if it was posted, it wasn't clear and obvious.
video goes too slow
Charts were helpful
The length of this course was too long for what it covered. Initially, it seemed like it would be ok, but the sub-content just kept expanding. The more substantial parts that I would have preferred to be covered were just glossed over at the end. However, it was nice that links were provided to access further information. In the past, interactive questions were presented and I personally prefer those better to test understanding.
Overall, this is the best iteration of the required Ethics required module in my 30 year experience.
Had to redo the material with some sections multiple times b/c it would not load up that I had already listened to that part etc.
rather read it at my own pace
Self paced is much better. The forced length is painful.
WebCE is my favorite place to take CE because its user friendly.
This was by far the worst learning experience I've ever had. The content was VERY slow. I don't appreciate audible learning as I prefer to read at my own pace so this was painfully slow. Not only that, my computer at one point locked up and when it refreshed, the course did not take me back to the spot I left off at, but instead I had to repeat more than a third of the course without the option of moving forward so it ended up taking significantly longer than 2 hours. Very disappointing.
You should be able to skip through content and take exam. If you have an understanding of the content, why do you have to sit through the material. If you don't, you won't be able to pass the exam.
The content is repetitious, boring, and exceedingly long. I'm seriously considering cancelling my CFP because I hate wasting my time on this every year.
The AI voice was hard to follow. Also seemed like a lot for a 2 hour CE
Recommendations: 1. The voice over was computerized and annoying. Please don't make us listen to that but provide better audio. 2. Do not require that we listen to it. Instead, we should be able to read it and go more quickly. 3. Make the material more engaging.
The robo-voice was distracting and choppy. Otherwise, the overall experience was nice.
Allow for the videos to be watched at faster speed.
I don't really like the video format. I prefer to read the content since I am a fast reader. Once I figured out how to do that on my own it went easier.
The requirement to have audio vs only reading the material was excessively long, and my method of learning is reading, not listening.
Excellent course and presentation! Very helpful - thank you!
The videos took long to buffer.
Too much material. Very dry.
The computer voice was way too slow. Dreadful
I liked the fact that the course provided audio and I could follow along and stop and start the audio too.
The tiny snippets of video were highly annoying. Have longer lessons rather than the constant need to keep hitting next.
well organized and informative but WAY too long with a lot of redundant information. Could be covered in half the time.
I can read much faster than this narration. The fact that I had to listen and click through the course rather than read at my own pace was incredibly inefficient
I had completed almost the whole course and got an error message. It logged me out. When I logged back in I was more than an hour back in the material from what I had completed. This wasted my time on material I had already completed. WEBCE's system should be better than this.
AI voice was very distracting. A human narrating this course would have been more beneficial
There were too many additional resources added to the course content. When you require that we click through, it adds many unnecessary minutes to the content.
The AI voice was unfortunate. An actual human would have made this much more engaging.
the names of people in the exam questions were terrible uncommon spellings for the name itself. Provided a distraction when trying to read the question and give a correct answer.
There HAS to be a better way to save progress on the class than to leave open a completely separate window. went all the way through and lost all but 20 min of progress because I didn't see the warning to keep the window open. Ridiculous.
Very comprehensive course. Case studies helped explain the key concepts.
It was good and enjoyed the content.
It is too long.
It was obvious that the voice recording was automatically generated - pronunciations of names were different even within the same slide, cadence and rhythm of certain phrases were identical, etc... It sounded like "the National Weather Service has issued an alert for..." warnings. Dreadful.
I appreciate how thorough this was
the AI voice used in the course was incredibly annoying to listen to. These courses feel much more impactful when an actual person is doing the voiceover
The transcript was not easy to follow. I would rather see the material in writing than to have audio based instruction.
Course could be shortened
I prefer to read rather than listen to material. The course was very good, other than that.
Way too long; we're not idiots. We're capable of listening at a faster speed
The voice over is terrible. I would rather be able to read at my own pace or listen to a real person. The voice sounded computer generated.
Much better than learning the "code numbers."
The Ethics course was horrible. The AI was horrible. Each slide had a loooong delay before it got to the end. I would not recomend this course to anyone. The other courses were fantastic....but not the Ethics.
Great content and great format
I enjoyed the examples. It helps to bring it better into focus for a situation. It was organized well.
Took 1/3 of it on my ipad, and it did not save my progress. Had to repeat that portion on a computer.
I would rather be able to read at my own pace than listen to something much slower.
I think it would be useful to have more interactive checks on learning throughout the content. This is how I learn a lot of the material I go through in these types of courses. I would like to see a few questions after each learning topic based on the information covered in the learning topic before being able to advance to the next session. You don't have to get the questions right to move forward, but you should be given two the three chances to answer correctly. If for some reason you can't answer correctly, you should be given the correct answer and allowed to move ahead anyway.
Could be greatly streamlined
The narrator needs to be less computer tone and more interesting.
Would like to be able to read the slides rather than a fake voice reading it to me
Very clear and user friendly.
Well presented and thorough.
Shouldn't have to listen to so many slides. Too long. It shouldn't take two hours to play. More reading slides with occasional audio/video would be preferred.
I felt the information was distributed in a very clear manor. I especially like the case studies.
The AI voice presenting the material was horrific. If you cannot afford a human being, please improve the voice used. Many simple programs exist which can improve the experience
Include a balance of content that is read and a portion that is oral or recorded. The scenarios are helpful when presented verbally. Most of the other content can simply be read by the student.
Give a speed option
The course was repetitive and too long. There were too many periods of silence where you couldn't move through the course.
You should add the ability to speed up the talking in the video. For example to listen at 2 times the speed.
I was traveling when taking this. The content stopped with the slightest interruption to internet bandwidth. Perhaps a bigger buffer of content would have provided a better experience.
course timed out but let me keep going and I spent over an hour finishing course when I tried to take certificate it did not save any of my progress so I had to take the course twice to get it finished.
Listening to the narrator was painful
I prefer to read rather than listening to a computer voice.
Very long course. No option to increase speed of voice for material.
Presentation was very dry which doesn't help with engagement.
Spoken video is a horrible delivery mechanism. Give me the opportunity to read the material. Having to sit for 2 hours to listen painfully to someone's monotonous speaking style was mind numbing. But I guess you got your full 2 hours from me for whatever that is worth!
hate having to wait for the slow reader.
The links do not work.
I liked this course
very basic information, have been a CFP for over 30 years, so majority of information is what we have had all along.
I can read a lot faster than the voice speaks, so being able to click through slides sooner than a few seconds after the AI voice is done reading what is on the slide would be helpful
Would prefer more case studies and less reading slides
Cost effective and good material but very long.
Well presented
Suggestion: make possible the ability to speed up narration. It is very slow and not human like at times and my listening is just more adept a a slightly quicker pace of speaking.
Excellent overall, very well organized.
The voice was very robotic.
This is more a comment for the CFP...if you want the ethics content infused into people, it needs to be reduced in verbage down to essence. With so much 'explanation' it will be difficult for people to have it top of mind.
AI voice was annoying and didnt always get the words right.
Too long for a 2 CE credits
The course insults CFP intelligence by having to listen to someone read the course to us. I should be able to read the material myself, watch whatever videos you want me to see, and go at my own pace like many other courses do. The content could have been covered in a much shorter period of time.
When I clicked on a link to access course resources, the course closed and the website froze.
Webce is great. The CFP material itself is boring, repetitive, and vastly a waste of time. Find a new of presenting this, please!
Way too bland. Needs to give more examples and make it more entertaining.
this course is clearer than ones taken in the past
I am more of a visual learner and I felt that this course was more focused on an auditory learner. More slides would have been helpful to me.
Should be able to speed up videos
I'd prefer to read the material rather than have an overlay of audio added. It makes it hard to focus.
Only thing I disliked was some screens had a 5 - 10 second wait before being able to move to the next screen.
Speed was too slow and unnecessary pauses could be eliminated
I wish it wasn't a computer generated voice. A real voice with real inflections would be easier to listen to.
Prefer PDF Download
The course was too long. The narrator spoke to slowly. Your average advisor can process information much faster than the information was presented. Almost all of the slides were unnecessary. Cut to the chase in the presentation. Show us the slides that we must know. Speak at a good clip.
More knowledge checks with sample Role Playing would be appreciated. Also not enough emphasis on the differences between a CFA and a CFP.
Good course, I've always completed these at industry events with a speaker leading the session. This was way better because I got the same info and didn't use two hours at an industry event learning things I could learn in a pre-recorded session at home. Thank you CFP Board!
I thought the course content and material were spot on and very clear and definitive. The format was well organized and easy to follow.
Would prefer to have the ability to read the content and not have it read to me the entire course.
I liked to content but the narration voice was too robotic. It was hard to follow at times
Progress not saved
Please allow for different playback speeds.
I found it helpful in reminding me to review again processes in my firm
I would have appreciated an opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge and test out of the course before having to go through training. I felt I was being training to time rather than a standard.
I hate required surveys. Don't force me to do answer a bunch of questions before I need to take an exam.
This course was easily one of the worst designed programs of instruction I’ve ever encountered. My understanding of useful educational materials, generally incorporate, engaging, interactive, and even sometimes I’m using presentation. I’ve never encountered such a dry monotone uninspiring presentation in all my years. I believe that any Educator whether primary middle school high school secondary or post secondary would be embarrassed by such a monotone presentation. The course was redundant, monotone, and literally painful to endure. You must consider redoing this course with something that is more interactive, engaging, and informational.
Ethics is the most important part of our profession. Some how each year either the CFP Board and/or CE providers seem to make it increasingly excruciating to complete. Seriously, two hours of a monotone AI voice? You may as well have just given us all automated credit for this course. No one is able to retain anything b/c if they're like me they zoned out the entire time. Seriously, where do our annual fees go to? Take some money and produce a quality ethics course. I'd rather prefer listening to a pod cast style low budget interviewer and interviewee on ethics than whatever this was. Seriously, terrible. I can't wait for next time to see how much more worse it can become. I didn't think it could worse and this I took this module. Bravo on accomplishing the seemingly impossible.
Surely an AI generated voice will continue to improve over time
It was tough to listen to a robotic voice for 2 hours. In general it was fine. However, a real person speaking would have made it more enjoyable.
I did not like the format or the presentation. It was slow and took more time. I prefer to read so that I understand more.
It took longer than two hours.
I thought the course was very well thought out and presented.
Course crashed once 15 minutes in requiring me to restart from the beginning.
The AI voiceover was distracting. It mispronounced names (eg: Malik) and had no real human inflection. Because of this, it was easier to read the transcript instead of listening.
The voice was very monotone, and the learning checkmarks weren't very interactive.
Having the system read the information takes to long
Presentation voice mechanical and not engaging, no interaction aside from clicking buttons.
Course is too long!
It would be very helpful if we could increase the speed. There is no reason for the voice to talk so slow.
The computer generated reading of everything is not needed. It was hard to stay focused.
I did not like having to listen to the course as it is read to me! Also, I disagree with the idea that a client does not need financial planning when he inherits a small amount of money (Mailk case) if he only desires to have his funds invested.
While the course was educational, I felt it was longer than 2 hours. If this amount of material/time is deemed essential, then it should offer CE credit hours commensurate with its length and time required to master. Also, the examples seemed to skew toward DEI. I'm not sure it is professional to skew in anyway whatsoever - regardless of intent. Doing so just adds a lack of credibility for no apparent reason.
Normal CE course
I would like the option to speed up the narration.
The course was well laid out, objectives were very clear.
Presentation of the Material was extremely dry. Need the ability to speed up the videos, or go straight to the test with an opportunity to review information missed. Far too slow paced.
The CFP curriculum needs to have a 2.0 speed for listening. I always listen to my Audible audio books at a 2.0 speed. This CFP curriculum is now too accademic and not very practical. Since becoming a CFP in 1986, the curriculum is not in touch with what we are really doing in the field. It's written by non-practitioners and professor-types who are not actually CFPs. I'm not interested in over exposure to the education about financial planning. I'm a CFP who deals with the public. Acadamia has lost touch and is creating a business, that I don't believe is so ethical, of learning about the theory of words and not the actual practce. One cannot legistlate morality. This is an attempt to control the industry with a heavy incumbrance of rules and rote memorization. NOTE: I love WebCE and the courses WebCE puts out. I don't appreciate the way that the CFP Board of Standards has developed.
Going through the course took more than 2 hours
I did not like the robo-voice.
Info very repetitious at times
The audio was clear and understandable. In my case, it was necessary, because I am nonvisual and use speech output or Braille for everything. Slides and diagrams were inaccessible, however, and not comprehensively described. This represents an area that could be improved.
way too long for information contained. It could have been condensed. It takes more than 2 hours to get through the course.
Fewer overall slides and make the ones you have longer so that there is less clicking.
Technology too hard at the end to know what to do next to get to the exam
it would be nice to be able to watch the videos at 1.5x or 2x speed
The ability to speed up the video
Did not need to be read to by a machine. I am perfectly capable of printing and reading the materials and then taking an exam. I am a CFP professional and should be trusted to read the material on my own without having to be timed.
The course is long as you have to go through each video at the video presenter's pace versus reading.
you could change up the narration voice with a woman's voice every other section. I would break up the material and make it easier to sit through
it should be continuous play so you can listen on drives
Have autoplay feature for each section
Fairly slow... and redundant. but thorough!
Case studies really assist in clarifying the steps and requirements.
The beginning is too long and a waste of time. No need to tell me what you are going to tell me. I prefer to have a more concise training session.
The course covered the materially thoroughly and in a thoughtful order. The examples/illustrations were helpful and relevant to my practice. The only negatives are on the tech side. Hopefully, AI audio improves because the narration is so robotic, it's distracting. It also disrupts learning to have the audio and visuals set up in such short segments. It should be 3 to 5 minute segments instead of having to hit the "next button" every 30 seconds.
After Conclusion, a bit confusing on the Survey and how to get to the Test.
The topic is somewhat boring, but this course provided the information in the best way possible.
Voice often did not follow the printed material.
I disliked the timer forcing me to wait between sections. Many times the audio ended before the timer and I’d have to wait in Selene before proceeding. I also missing having a percent complete above as I go through each section. I’d have to get out to table of contents to rate progress and sometimes had trouble getting back in to the content.
1) Interactive Learning Checks 2) Some of the links (like to the FAQ) are no longer active on the CFP(r) site.
Content was solid. It a long time to load each page and a big distraction to the presentation.
Course was too long and all of the required time waiting through narration could be significantly condensed. As CFP's, our time is worth many hundreds of dollars per hour - wasting it on this is very frustrating.
i liked the format of the course but thought it was too long. Also, after completing the video it was difficult to find the exam.
too long for the content provided. Should have an option to read the material instead of being forced to watch the videos.
I would have liked to adjust the speed/tempo of the lessons.
I appreciate the requirement to go through and read each slide. The speed at which the speaker is talking is much slower than the pace at which I read. And I am visual. It was actually more distracting to have him speaking. If we are stuck to listening at a pace that the speaking speed dictates, it would be great to be able to see how much time is left on the content throughout so we can properly allocate time to give this our full attention.
Took far longer that 2 hours
Hi, I think this material was very useful except for the fact that the technology fell incredibly short and I will call to address this issue with you for the benefit of the CFP org.
Through out the sessions, it gets stuck and would not go to next page several times. Had to exit out many times and go back in.
The forced video content was super annoying. I'd prefer to read it vs having it read to me at a glacial pace. My guess is that the CFP board forces this draconian format as the rest of the WebCE coursework is FAR better.
Well organized and fluid between topics.
Easy to move through the course.
I have never before had to give a poor rating to a WebCE course. I believe there is either strong influence or specific directive from the CFP Board on the content and delivery. This was remarkably tedious to go through, due in large part to the use of an artificial voice that droned on without enough natural inflection to prevent a numbing experience. Much of the repetition of points was very unnecessary. I was especially frustrated by a lack of practical perspectives and suggestions for implementing the Code in everyday business. I realize my experience and knowledge put me ahead of the course material for the most part. But if I were coaching newer CFPs in this area, my approach would be quite different.
The ability to speed up or slow down the course in areas would be helpful.
There should be an option to speed up the voice
excellent videos and overall flow of course was well sorted out
It crashed 2/3 way through and threatened to make me start over. A lot of review of old material. You should be able to test out.
examples in real life are helpful with client scenarios
The course was very thorough and easy to follow.
Make videos easier to move through
Time the slides correctly, I don't need to read an intro slide that has 5 words on it for a whole minute
In my experience people learn best from one or more of three methods: text, audio or graphical (or visual) display. There were, IMO, too many slides with long stretches of audio with little onscreen support in the form of bullet points or a visual representation. The voice was monotonous. Other similarly long presentations have benefited from using at least two voices perhaps alternating between sections. Yes, I accept that you did this for the specific videos but that was it
I would like to see more cases and maybe a separate courses on cases.
Add an option to have the audio play at 1.5X or 2.0X the speed.
Course takes a long time to complete.
I think it would have been better to have us actually select an answer to the review questions. Less meaningful to simply click to the next page to hear the answer - make us think about it and commit to an answer, then the info sticks better.
reading voice was a little dull
I did not find that simply reading the slides to me that I can read myself to be a particularly engaging way of presenting the material when that occurred.
Entirely too long and slow
Tony is awesome, technology is easy to use, and questions and content are relevant.
The audio is a little wonky in the first part of the course with pitch changes, the AI doesn't always pronounce or emphasize correctly, but otherwise good.
I always like WEBCE courses and understand that because this particular CFP Ethics course came directly from the CFP Board, it is not up to usual WEBCE standards. There is much room for improvement in how the course is written and presented -- and it's insulting to have to wait 45 seconds to hit "next" when it's taken me 3-5 seconds to read the content.
I completed the CFP program and then it didnt save and I had to redo half of it.
Would be nice to allow the slides/videos to run longer rather than click the "next" button every 60 seconds.
it sounded like this was AI reading. Might want to check how he says ERR and Malik.
Course was very slow and took longer than two hours with exam.
Having to listen to the recording was annoying. Let us have the option of the recording, or self study.
i have been a CFP for 35 years...this was way too long and for an experience CFP it cost me 2-3,000 of my time to do this. Need to be shorter for experience advisors.
I don't need it read to me. It took almost 3 hours to do 2 hours of CE.
Narrating by a droning AI voice made it very hard to pay attention. There was no interactive opportunity to answer skill building questions myself. This took so much longer than if I'd had the opportunity to read the material by myself. The pacing made what could have been an interesting module an absolute slog. At least hire a real person to be the voice if narration is required.
The terrible computer voice was awful. Words were constantly mispronounced and not read to me in a natural way.
Wished I could have increased the playback speed since the video speakers were slow.
I liked the audio and the ability to control the speed of delivery
Liked the videos
I liked the audio with the ability to read along.
Liked the audio part with the ability to read along.
Bulky and didn’t save place in course - had to redo some of the course because it didn’t save progress.
It is really long
The video components were unnecessary and a little long-winded. Also the fact that it felt like it was spoken by AI was a off putting. I am biased towards general text. Also, the force fed power point presentation to go through the material was off-putting for me.
It would be great to have the option to do the lesson at a faster speed than the current speed. Also, it was annoying to have to have my hand on the mouse for a click at the end of each section. An enter or right arrow would have been faster.
course should be able to be played at 1.25 or 1.5 speed. there are long pauses in the audio that are not necessary but must be waited out before clicking to next module.
More examples and cases are always helpful!
mobile format is not very good. needs improvement.
I wish the audio wasn't so clearly AI and instead a real person speaking.
I had to watch the entire course twice because it didn’t save my spot.
MY gosh--lose the computer generated voice-over! So monotone and challenging to follow...hire a human!
Scenarios were very simplistic.
Provide the option to increase the narration speed.
i would have a few more exercises
The program froze on my work computer several times, so I had to complete it on a personal laptop.
course was very organized and easy to follow along
having to constantly click adds a lot of extra time.
the speed was too slow. My anxiety around them speaking so slowly caused me to lose focus. Please add a variable speed option
Just took way too long to go through
This was a very painful experience having to wait for each slide to appear while watching the little white circle to complete. Go back to the way you do the other courses that I took for this CE.
Excellent course...as always!
Would prefer an option to read material rather than having to take almost two hours to have a speaker present slide by slide. That was excruciating and my attention span was challenged.
course too long
Provide the ability to control the playback speed or auto play
Too Long. Should be able to just read content, as opposed to having to listen to the audio
Having to wait for the narrator was very tiring. Let us advance the slide sooner
Way too much time was spent on the introduction. I have been a CFP professional for 25 years. After some point in time the overkill on redundancy relating the Ethic becomes too much. Video should be complementary not mandatory in my personal opiniom
More video would have been better. I got one wrong and went to review it and it wasn't marked red so I could not tell which one I got wrong.
I haven’t had someone read to me since I was 5 years old. The course’s inability to allow me to read (a strength of mine - fast reader with good retention) was intolerable. Self-paced is ideal, rather than being read to.
Having this read to me as opposed to my reading was very poor. This reminded me of my days in the Army. Every lesson came with lots of lists. This is unnecessary and just a filler. Get the main points across instead.
The AI Reading voice could be nicer on the ears
I think the length of the course is reasonable for the material provided. However, I do not believe it is reasonable to only give two hours of credit. The course is clearly well over two hours as presented so the credit should be correspondingly adjusted.
I wish the VoiceOver was done with a human voice
Video content ( 2 slides / sections ) did not operate very well
The odd names used made it difficult for me to match up who was who in the story.
more case studies
too long. but easy to understand
This course longer to complete than the two hours required.
The program moved along fairly well but was not really friendly to moving with my laptop and I had to call for assistance. The WebCe advisor, Brenda, was very helpful. I did not believe the courses offered matched the CE credits they provided. Two that I took were very lengthy for only 3 credits. The content was good however.
Not sure why this video presentation needs a voice over, as they are pretty much reading from the slides at a much slower pace than the average reader, taking more time to complete than necessary.
The dialogue was too repetitive.
It was a very complete discussion of the material but that actually worked against the program. It was just too much detail to really be meaningful. Less is more! KISS!
Reading by AI was a little wonky at times. Mispronunciations always throw me for a loop, and distract somewhat from the content. Content was good, though.
liked the course it went well
i prefer video taught by CFP's.
Too long. It took 4 hours
While the content was presented by WebCE in an easy to use and navigate fashion... The CFP Board can do a better job of providing more engaging material for WebCE to use.
It was a good course.
AI voiceover was painful, either get a human to do it or get a better AI version. It was irritating and annoying.
There were too many "intro" slides (i.e. saying what would be covered in the program, rather than just getting to the lesson itself), and there should be no advertising for CFP Board materials.
The AI voice presentation could certainly be improved. For those who prefer a written text, providing that alternative so that the CFP can advance more efficiently at his or her own pace. Thank you for your consideration of this suggestion.
i liked the organization in the side bar
For subjects that I was familiar with.. it would have been nice to skip over them, or to be able to bring up another screen on my computer to not have to sit through a topic and waste my time... if I already knew it.
Did not like not being able to speed up the audio and transcript was too small. Prefer more read only/self paced.
I thought the course was very good and useful.
the video was slow and long for the material covered
Ditch the AI narration.
AI reader needs a little work.
WebCe's format is great.
this was a great course to get thru and easy to navigate. Very informational and helpful to keep me up to date on CFP Ethics! Thanks.
much duplication
I wish I could read the material on my own rather than have to sit and listen to the technology read it to me. Thanks!
I liked the overall content. But...could be a bit shorter.
provide a 1.5x speed. The voices are a little slow.
I wish there was a way to speed up the video to 1.5 times regular speed.
Much too long
I like how the Ethics course reads to you. It helps me pace myself.
Course length should not be advertised as 50 minutes -- there was no way to turn the automatic narration faster.
Overall good course. Thanks.
Enjoyed this course
Would have been preferable for knowledge checks to require me to enter answers, thus forcing me to think about content more thoroughly.
I have been a CFP since Sept. 11, 2000 and I believe this is the most thorough CE Course I have taken!
More interactive content would be helpful, such as interactive knowledge checks along the way to make sure we didn't miss anything.
Easy to follow, liked the video format.
Good information. The Artificial Intelligence reader was choppy and computer-voice sounding, which was sometimes distracting.
This isn’t web CEs fault but the course is extremely boring. The computer voice over did not help. Course is not engaging or inspiring at all.
I liked the videos. Broke it up a bit.
I enjoyed the audio feature the most as I am an auditory learner.
I wish there was a read only option. I can read much faster than the speaker.
The voice on the videos droned too much, need another voice (preferably interchange with a female voice)
Flow of the course was appropriate.
rather have the option to just read this and not have the voice read to me
Great Material for review
the reader of the material went way too slow. Too much small print.
The video timed out a few times. After the time out the course resumed 10-15 minutes behind my achieved progress. This caused repetition and took me much longer than the credit received.
Very good course nothing to add or delete
Ridiculously long! 35 year veteran should be able to test out
It took quite a while to get through the material, and it isn't the most entertaining.
The audio is computer generated. I live human voice would make it more interesting to listen
The course was comprehensive but could be shortened without reducing quality of content.
The course was way too long and you need to let people go at their own pace.
This is a long slog to listen to the same guy read off of slides.
Not everyone is an auditory learner. I would have preferred a course I could read rather than listening to while it put me to sleep.
A LITTLE LENGTHY AND REDUNDANT IN SOME CASES
Make speed adjustable to 1.25x, some of us can listen faster than fixed speed
If you accidentally closed the window it didn't save where you left off and as a result I had to start it over multiple times. Only downside. It would be great if it autosaved
It was very slow. Even when the narrator was done talking, there was sometimes considerable delay before the ability to go to the next slide. Narrator was also boring - I'm guessing computer generated, but it didn't help with engaging the material.
Excruciatingly boring and slow. Just present the course in writing; forget all the recorded blather.
Very Informative
Very well organized. I liked the links to CFP Board materials.
Good learning experience
Would like to be able to watch/listen at 2X speed
Course was very good
The information provided in the video was redundant and could have been covered in a more concise manner.
CLEAR AND EASY, THANKS
PREFER TO ADVANCE THE SLIDES MANUALLY, RATHER THAN LISTEN TO AUDIO.
I can read on my own, twice as fast. i don't need the material read to me - very long, overblown.
I'd prefer to be directed to the next step once the course has been completed - rather than having to go back to the beginning
Would be nice to have an option to speed up the reading... I can read the transcript faster and then have to fast forward the slide to move on.
CFP CE video was infuriatingly boring and repetitive
Too long. Should offer participants to test out
Easy, clear to understand, and helps me with how to perform my duties ethically.
The tone of the voice on slides is very boring
Professional course and presentation.
Great content. Clear and was a great experience.
Very good content
videos were long and reading materials would have been sufficient,
I'd just remove the empty pauses at the end of each slide, and also enable faster speaking
thorough and informative.
It was a great course, but it took a long time.
just too much everything - overwhelming us every 2 years with this over the top craziness - when does the escalation end! We barely have time to service clients or the public anymore with all of the competing compliance requirements!!!
I dislike the inability to accelerate the speed.
The presenter talks too fast.
I noticed a typo on the titles of the learning objective , I thought I had saved a screen print of it but can't find it. The error should be easy to spot.
The material is too redundant. We are extremely busy as advisors and the pacing was too slow plus redundancy made the effort inefficient.
Inlcude a module focusing only on current year CFP changes in order to highlight them.
The program crashed when I clicked the FAQ link in the Resources section. This unplanned closure of the program caused me to have to back track for almost 30 minutes through material I had already covered.
Probably a little too long, but overall the training is always done well.
The only downside of this course was the speed at which the material was presented. I can read a lot faster than this information was presented and had to spend a lot of time waiting for the next button to appear.
it took too long to go through
I feel like this took about 3-4 hours to get 2 hours worth of credit. The reading was very slow and there wasn't a way to click to the next page. That being said, the content was great and well put together.
For a 2 hour course, the viewing time took more than 2 hours. At the very least, the slides should automatically advance, and not require the participant to click "Next" to continue the course content.
Too long, couldn’t increase speed
One suggestion...put a note on first slide that audio needs to be on to get all of the information provided.
Very clear and direct.
Having to listen to the course material was somewhat annoying. It would be nice to have an option to read the transcript
I wish that i could have read through the material at my own pace. Having to wait for each slide to finish was overly time consuming.
I think there should be a way to change playback speed, it was unnaturally slow for me and i was unable to change the playback speed.
the computerized voice was very mind numbing - it was slow and very drawn out. I wanted to speed up the voice - but couldn't find a way to do that. I would rather read myself than watch that very slow power point that was basically read to me.
Don't like that I can't read at my own pace and have to sit and listen; I am a visual learner, not auditory.
The long pauses to get to the point of advancing to the next screen were painful and frustrating
Boring and ineffective for a CFP with almost 35 years of experience. Good for new CFPs only.
I wish there was a way to speed up the narration. It would help me stay more engaged.
There was a lot of repeating of concepts. This material is presented to educated professionals so being more concise would be appreciated.
Course was not interactive. Would have rather answered questions during the course.
This 2-Hour Course took about 3 hours just to listen to the required material before even reviewing any of the downloaded material or taking the test itself. Also, seems strange to require 70% and then make it 12 Questions. Just make it 75% to pass or make it a more appropriate number of questions. Haven't taken the exam yet so can't speak to that.
i was going through the modules, completed, and wanted to take the test next day becuase it was 10pm at night. went on this morning and it didn't save. there was a big glitch apparently for everyone yesterday. I did call and they did fix it fo rme
I read faster than I listen, I wish I could have gone through the program at my own speed.
too much audio hard to maintain attention. It would be easier if there were some questions or more interactive items involved
Shorten the videos and make it an option to test out of the material
Please make it more clear when an Ethics (or any other CFP continuing education course is not approved by the CFP Board for CE. I ended up taking an Ethics course last Friday that turned out to not be accepted.
I hated the AI narration. It was terrible. When I realized I could silent it and read the material it was much better and not nearly as distracting.
I detest being forced to listen to CE courses. Listening to a computer generated voice or any voice at all is awful! I prefer to read the material & comprehend it in that fashion. I end up not listening to courses that force the audio on you.
Would have been nice to be able to be more interactive with the periodic questions rather than providing the answers for us without prior selection.
the examples were helpful. pretty boring though. would have liked more engaging slides/narration/ability to change the speed
That this is a 2 hour video instead of self learning is ridiculous.
Not sure if it was my internet connection or not but I didn’t like the fact that I repeatedly had to log back in due to the audio no longer playing on my device.
Very repetitive. Robotic voice. Generic. Lacking true real world complexity.
The A.I. or computer-generated voice was far too slow and painfully annoying. Use a real human. Having to click 100 times to advance slides is punitive. We are professionals. Have us complete an integrated program without forced time listening to a terrible voice for a set amount of time. LEARNING the material is what is important, not sitting here for 2 hours clicking through the presentation when we could absorb 100% of it effectively in 30 minutes.
No one wants to be read to by a computer
Not as fun as in person-interactive but well worth the time.
The clearly AI voice and slow talking pace of just what was on the slides made the presentation tough to sit through.
It was incredibly annoying that you had to click the next button every 30 seconds. It would have been better to listen to 15-minute intervals or to have been able to just read the content. The info was delivered too slowly.
The reading speed could be a slightly higher rate... but still much better than others I've had to endure and will try to never use again. Could've skipped most of the initial info that wasn't course related, i.e the how to part and this is what you're going to learn part.. but if it's needed to reach the time, just hope it wasn't in lieu of actual useful learning material.
I would prefer to read the material vs. having it read to me.
The topic is very important. Material could be more interactive and much shorter with more real world examples.
This was the most boring thing I have ever listened to
It felt like the material was "read" by an AI, somewhat hard to listen to.
Thanks, well done and easy to use.
Provide more Case Studies throughout this class.
Should be able to speed up the readings. Or read the material yourself.
Course took well over 2 hours to review.
Would like to see more knowledge checks as part of the program.
I couldn't speed up the videos and the guy talked really slow. Also it is so long and so much content for so few CE credits.
Lost 1.5 hours of progress, got to the end and it didn't save
More case studies would make it more interesting. Maybe also include some real life sanction cases.
There is time wasted after every section where you just have to sit there and wait for the time to lapse before hitting next... it's annoying.
The AI generated narrator was annoying to listen to.
The course covers everything that the CFB Board requires to be taught. It is easy to use and straightforward. a little long though.
It never showed my progress when I logged out.
i would like a shorter course
sound doesn't always cooperate
I very much disliked being held hostage on every single page. If we must listen to the narration, then at the very least give us the ability to speed up playback. This was torture.
Keep the example-based format. Thanks
The course was very thorough but unnecessary long...
Would prefer more case studies as part of the course
The course was adequate but not helpful in that it did not emphasize the recent changes but to use through everything: What is Financial Planning, Duty of Care, Duty of Loyalty, Fiduciary Responsibilities. I would rather it focus on the changes!!
I would have preferred to have the material offered in writing instead of being required to listen to videos which would have allowed me to cover the material in much less time.
I really liked the videos. The person spoke to slowly. The other CE courses gave an option to speed up the audio.
I have taken hundreds of CE courses in the nearly 22 years I have been an advisor. this was by far the worst course i have ever taken. There is no way to complete the course in the advertised two hour time frame. I will never take another course made by the producers of this one.
Would like to see practice questions that require my response for each section.
The computer voice does not make this very interesting. Videos helped though.
i would prefer not having jmandtory survey before taking exam
Why this is not an open book exam?
the course was very informative and thorough. Some of it was a bit repetitive and I think an improvement would be the presentation could be provided by real people.
I know there is a lot to go over, but I felt like it was longer than it needed to be.
I felt the voice was too slow. I process audio books a 1.5x, so I would like to see the ability to increase voice speed.
I completed about 3/4 of the learning and it didnt save, so I had to start all over, which was an inconvenience to my time.
Course was very long. Self study versus mandatory slides to watch would be just as effective.
Human voice would be better
I would recommend a timer so that a learner knows how much time is left in the course.
I wish I could have sped up the audio, it was very slow.
the audio / video is way too slow
the lectures sounds very robotic and can put me to sleep
talks too slow
I take a lot of CE. This has to be the worst course. No interaction, just a monotone reading of a rules manual.
This course is two credit hours, I believe; however, it went way over two hours in my experience. It also seemed that there was a lot of redundancy in the material.
confusing signing up fpr cpurses and directions to take exam
Don't force me to listen to it for 2 hours at 1x speed. Provide a transcript and allow faster listening. Boring as heck.
I understand the nature of the topic. and why we have to sit though the entire presentation. but, it's not very interactive or engaging. drones a bit. bad for people who present and interact for a living. not interactive.
I should be able to speed up the voiceover or click next before it's done. Often I was done reading the slide and then had to sit there which was very frustrating.
The 12 minutes of introduction seemed excessive and unnecessary
Good thorough content
The overview chart of which standards apply when is very helpful.
The robotic voice was a little monotonous but other than that, it was informative.
Course was way too long and duplicative. Could have covered the material in much shorter time-frame.
There should be an option to slow down the audio. I did not see where links to documents were available. Under CFP Board Resources in last section there appeared to be two redundant/repetitive audio descriptions
During the course periodically a second reading would occur overlapping the course material. It stated this was an approved course or something similar. Because two voices were going on at the same time, it was hard to understand either. Also there needed to be a clear button to save and exit the course in order to take a break.
the extra audio was very helpfil
Very easy to navigate. Clear and consise.
Forcing me to listen to someone read very slowly was extremely frustrating. Everyone digests information at a different pace and it is ridiculous that I could not just read the information and continue. I had to wait while the narrator read at a snail's pace. I could have finished this in half the time without any reduction in amount learned.
Very dry course. It provided all of the relevant information, but did not hold interest. A course of case studies with explanations would have been much more engaging.
Let me know how much time is left. It should advance on it's pwn vs having to advance it. It didn't keep track that I had started it and when I logged back in it took me to the brginning
good handling of dry material
I had four interruptions where I had to leave training and go back in again. It wasted about 10 minutes of my time.
The AI voice was very distracting. I'd much rather be able to read the material on my own.
There are a lot of typos in the test...
A real human voice rather than a monotone computer voice would improve the experience
Good course. I enjoy the case studies and the questions after to test my knowledge.
Too slow, too repetitive and poor quality AI voice
Direct comparisons between the previous Code of Ethics and the new Code of Ethics could be useful especially for long-term CFP's.
Typo on question #7: The name Arya was spelled AREA in the body of the question. I found this course to be very confusing. Other CE ethics courses I have taken are more direct on teaching the Standards and utilizing the Standards themselves instead of the very confusing Roadmap. I did like the platform utilized and the ease of use.
Did not like the inability to control speed of presentation slide voice over. tedious material and presentation.
Why do we need to be "tested?" This is a industry designation, not a federal or state required CE for a license.....
These types of forced watching materials always ends up with lengthy and wordy presentations. It doesn’t even sound like a human recording the audio but more like a computer was reading the material. I appreciate the CFP board is trying to find a way to help CFPs stay current with the ethics requirement but I did not find this as helpful as past courses.
An option to auto-play each slide instead of having to click every time. Other than that, it checked all my boxes.
For a 2 hour course this was VERY long - plus I should be able to read the material on my own and not listen to someone.
It was okay. thought the questions were long for no good reason. maybe use the same name for clients so we dont have to remember who is who...little things, eh. thought the course was long. audio helped.
i rather read the lesson as opposed to listen to it. will shop around next time.
It was very hard to watch this video with a mechanical voice that mispronounces words and particularly names. Highly recommend hiring a real person to read the content to make it watchable.
My only issue it that my computer locked up during a video and I had to exit and get back in. Other than that minor issue everything went very well.
This course is obsessed with AI. If you are going to use this technology, make sure the pronunciations are correct. It shouldn't pronounce a character's name multiple ways. Also, it should not, under ANY circumstances, use the exact same inflection every time a word is used. It is HIGHLY annoying. There are many other issues, but you don't want to read this. Just look at your stuff as if you would have to sit for 3 hours. Then, and only then, will you fix this @$&?
It took too long. Speed up the person speaking.
Our firm has a great deal of ethics training in general, and it would be nice if it counted towards the 2.0 credit hours of ethics requirements for the CFP, rather than having to take 3-4 hours (really) to complete a separate one. thanks
misspelled word in Menu: Selecting You have = Selectng
There needs to be a button to speed up the voice. It is way to slow and it is much to easy to lose focus. this could be sped up 2/3 times and it would be both more accessible and there would be better retention. One can listen much faster than one speaks.
do not like the static slide format.
Had difficulty with the program running on my firms browsers. The time involved was more that 2 hours and while the course covered everything, it was at times a bit repetitive.
I did not agree with the use of the time requirement before advancing.
The only option was to sit through and listen to every minute of content - while that be the most thorough, most content is not set-up that way. I will avoid this content every time in the future and it is demotivating to use CFP CE course content
I use WebCE for the majority of my training. I love your platform and it's easy to use. Thank you.
did not like the pre-requisite setup of having to click through each section manually before proceeding to the exam.
The videos are long. I could have read the material faster. On a positive note, the content was thorough.
Not clear how credit will be communicated to CFP Board
Really like the read it to me version but I would offer a written version as well. People have different ways of learning.
Could use the option to read a little faster.
The software did not track my progress on the course. It was rectified quickly by support. I hope this is isolated as no advice was given to prevent it from happening in the next class.
Course material was good, however the automated voice was terrible. Paying attention was very, very difficult.
Confusing names in the test questions. Spelling was incorrect in a few places throughout the material.
There is a typo on question 8. Arya's name is spelled "Area."
Several test questions were not written well and several typos.
Please provide a traditional reading option. Or make it possible to read the transcript and hit a button to advance the slide show.
It was hard to hear, maybe there's a way to have the sound louder.
Comprehension of the information would have been greatly improved had I simply been able to read the text rather than trying to understand an incredibly slow computerized voice.
It was a good course but took longer than 2 hours
Excellent course. Everything was well explained and the lessons well structured.
I liked the interactive and the read to me features
why is it impossible to have a real person read the material, if we have to listen to it?
I'm sure this is to prevent someone gaming the system, but I would have preferred to read the information rather than listen to the video. Content was great. Thank you.
I wish the note about not closing the browser was more prominent I didn't see it the first time and had to go through the course materials 2x.
The pace was very slow...
Although video was good, my personal preference is to read the slides and advance through the material more efficiently.
Question 11 has a typo used her name as area needs more sample questions in the content.
I was glad there was a written transcript available. I did not like the read it to me audio, it was difficult to comprehend when there was a long topic discussed.
Course was satisfactory.
allow the option to speed up the audio. The audio was painfully slow and the course doesn't allow you to read faster.
So boring, read by AI robot?!
Great course - thank you for chopping it up into very manageable pieces. The knowledge checks along the way were great too!
The CFP Code of Ethics was too time-consuming to complete. I am a 20 year CFP and do not need someone to read every word of each slide. I actually could have taken the exam without reviewing any of the material. There needs to be a more efficient way for professionals to review these materials. Just let me review the materials at my own pace and take the required exam.
I do like the read to me but wish the next would appear when done. I dont need additional advertisement from the CFP board for resources during my CE.
1. A better overview slide early in the presentation with a course outline would be helpful. 2. Some of the slides had fonts that were really too small..too much information on one slide to be readable without strain. 3. On the 401(k) rollover scenario, the CFP should also consider the withdrawal features of the 401(k) plan versus the IRA, whether the client has an existing outstanding loan in the 401(k) plan, whether there are assets in the 401(k) such as life insurance which cannot be rolled to the IRA and if there are asset protection issues that might favor the 401(k) versus the IRA...Alot more to consider than just the investment pool and the relative fee structures...
I enjoyed the "read it to me" format
I did not care for the "read it to me audio" feature. I would rather read the material myself.
good easy understandable
I'm not a fan of structured learning that doesn't allow me to read faster than the topic is presented. The timed audio is obnoxious.
The test structure is cluttered and could be space out differently to make it easier to read. Also the lettering could be a little darker and larger. Also the radials for the answers are to small.
Material was appropriate for the required CFP CE.
Don't need an oral presentation of what I can read. Obscure or made-up first names on the exam are a distraction
I thought the intro and ending of the course could be deleted. It was too wordy and long. Get to the nuts and bolts and it would have been better.
I thought the introducton and ending of the course was wordy and too long. Just get to the nuts and bolts
I prefer to read at my own pace vs. listening to required recordings. But that isn't an option on this course.
The course was good, but lengthy. Due to surgery on my right hand, I was a bit slower answering as I had to click the answer with my left hand. Glad it wasn't timed. The exam was very thorough.
I respect and appreciate the diversity and gender representation in the material. When you redo the video and/or graphics you might want to use a model who represents someone who is other-abled such as in a wheel chair and as a Veteran, I'd love to see someone who appears as a Veteran. i like too that people are dressed in more expansive business attire, less stogey. Great job on the content, in-depth review, and the presentation. I can tell it has been carefully created. I found it a very good refresher. Thanks
Dislike the fact that I had to listen to someone else read it. Could have finished faster on my own.
Great course
I really disliked the read-to-me format of this module. The voice seemed computer generated and not pleasant to listen to for a two hour course.
It would be nice to be able to speed up the audio a little bit.
The audio function reads too slow. It would be nice if you could select speed options for the audio.
great coarse
I do not like being read to. I would rather read the material myself.
This course was too long to cover the relevant content.
It took way longer than 2 hours - it was tedious, annoying and a complete waste of my valuable time. For tenured advisors, we should be able to jump to a simple test vs going through this ridiculous course
Would like the option to increase audio speed
The course content was very thick, but the exam was easier (thank goodness).
It would be nice if we could speed up the voice reading to us.
Different chapters had different levels of volume. The "next" button had a bit of a lag between chapters. All else is good. Thank you!
Specifically regarding this Ethics portion, the audio reading to me takes way too long and frequently just reads me the slide- I would rather just have the slides if that is the case so i can get through things faster. Also, the "interactive" aspects or "check your knowledge" pieces are not really interactive- just more recordings giving you the answer and why. Would prefer to be engaged in a way where I actually test my understanding.
use some reasonably normal names. Weird names make complex questions more difficult.
I would prefer the option to read through the material vs all audio
pop up videos did not work properly, its too slow, i would like to move along at a much faster pace
I believe the unusual names for clients and cfp's on the final exam detracted from the question. Please consider using susie, or sam, or tom, etc, instead of wierd names. Just my opinion. Some of these names I've never heard of, and it was hard to keep concentration of the question.
should be allowed to speed up the narative or video speed
The inability to adjust the speed or choose how to move the material is rather off putting and degrades the experience. With such a slow pace, the content becomes unengaging as the mind wanders or one picks up a phone and gets distracted waiting for the content to move on. Especially for someone who is familiar with the content, there should be a way to show you already command the knowledge first, then go back and readdress any areas of weakness. Or just test out of the whole thing. The course felt like torture and a waste of time.
Quality of this material was extremely helpful.
I would like the option of listening or reading the information on my own. I retain information better, and stay more focused if I can do it at my pace.
WebCE HAS GOT to auto-save the course as you move thru it. I did it on my phone, did not save it my space and had to go back 3 modules and do it over. This was NOT a 2 hour course. More like 4hours
I'd prefer to move at my own pace and read the materials as opposed to videos that are playing audio/video clips.
This required course by the CFP Board sucks. It's way too slow. The narrator talks too slowly. It was excruciatingly painful.
Completed this ethics training for work. Had difficulty accessing the slides initially, switched to my cell phones and was able to listen to audio. Then had to switch to a desk computer and was not able to access "Read It To Me Audio or listen to the video'. Still researching if the challenge was from my end
I am a fast reader and much prefer reading content myself instead of having it read to me. The reader was slow and mechanical sounding.
Like the reading out loud to go with the print
I learned from the course and the questions were very reasonable. There were some parts that I may have skipped before taking the exam if I would have been allowed to do so.
Too long. Could be done in half the time.
There was a glitch in course delivery, so that I could not save the course in the middle and pick up at same spot later. Kept defaulting back to the definition of financial advice, so it ended up being 3 or 4 hours rather than 2 hours time. That's why I would not recommend this particular CFP CE ethics course.
I found myself on a page where there were links to CPA CPE, Insurance CE, etc., but there wasn't a link to CFP CE on it. Providing a link to CFP CE on that page would have made finding the course I wanted easier...thanks
thank you but I hope I recieve confirmation that my 2 ethics hours will be reported right away to cfp board. thank you..
I don't like that I couldn't get through the content at my own pace. The reading is pretty slow especially when it is something that is really a review of my knowledge.
AI generated audio, w/ little visual needs to be improved.
The introduction seemed longer than was necessary.
A very good refresher.
I did not like that the read to you was required.
One spelling mistake on the case study question using the name "Arya". In one instance the name was mistakenly spelled "Area".
Did not like the slow pace of having to listen to everything.
Resources to use in practice.
The required course is boring and wish could skip the boring 2 hours and go to the exam. Been in business 40 years and had to take this same CFP Ethics course for about 20 years. Was multi-tasking but a nuisance to have to hit hte next botton every few minutes but obviously want folks to listen. I got 100% on the exam first time. Not a Webce issue just what the CFP board requires the same stuff every year
I think there were a couple of typos during the exam.
Get rid of the AI voice and use a human voice. The AI voice does not put proper emphasis on several key phrases.
voice was stilted; screen didn't expand to make some of the slides visible; extra unneeded pause at the end of slides before you could advance made the course longer to get through; repetitive verbiage made the course longer than necessary -- redundant
Way too long...
should give option for read it to me to go faster
Excellent course. The material was presented effectively and was easy to understand and I believe fulfilled the study of CFP ethics
I do not prefer the "read it to me" format, especially in the robotic voice.
I would have preferred just reading the course vs having it read to me.
The voicing was inconsistent and annoying.
The names used in the examples were pretty strange. What happened to names like John, Paul, George, and Ringo?
Very well designed and executed.
the names used in the exam made it extra confusing. especially the typo in question #1
There was a misspelled word in the left header column for one of the lesson segments. I don't recall it off the top of my head but you may want to review and correct.
I didn't care for the monotone voice of the audio in the ethics course. Made it difficult to pay attention. I would have an actual person (with voice inflections) produce the audio.
prefer reading material instead of listening to it. Wish that was clear when it was purchased
pace of reading was slow and due to this it was easy to get distracted-- could read the slides way faster and still garner information
It would be great if the user had the ability to adjust the audio speed to say 1.25x or even 1.5x for customized time management. While the content and delivery was very good, the speed was a bit slow for me and likely for some others.
The AI voice that goes through the course is not great, made listening to it challenging.
Good content but the narration was monotone
nice platform
course window was still open even after my login session ended on the main browser window. So when I completed the course, it wasn't logged in my account and I had to call customer service to get access to the test. The course window should know if it logged into the account.
I very much like the read-it-out-loud feature. I am very busy, I get many distractions, the read it out loud feature allows me to notice when other things are happening without completely disengaging from the content by looking away for a moment.
Good presentation
Very helpful and clear.
Question #8 has a typo. "Arya" instead of "Area".
Solid course. Thank you for making it so easy for me to fulfill my CE requirements. I appreciate the self-study option.
It was a good way to present the material
This course to too long!!
I usually complete courses faster than credit hours and it took 2 hours and 20 minutes for this 2 hour course. Primarily due to speed of video. I could have listened at a faster speed or read hard copy faster.
easy to search for 'ethics' CFP CE in the catalog to find what i was looking for
I would like the option to listen to the videos at a faster speed such as 1.5x or 2x. Other than that it was good.
The names used in the quiz questions are stupid and confusing. I would be willing to bet that NO one by the name of Savon and Piper are looking to retire in 10 years!
Robot AI voice was very off-putting for such a long time. Not having the option to skip through sections that are already familiar or test out is not ideal.
Very clear and comprehensive material. Good job!
Good format & Good use of my time for relevant info to my profession.
I recommend that you provide listeners with the ability to listen at a faster rate. I listen to podcasts at 1.5X normal speaking speed and I found this to be too slow for my preference.
The videos were slow and took a long time. I would prefer an option for reviewing written material.
Content was excessive and the read it to me version was too long.
Audio slowed the process and was not helpful to learn.
The presentation would not play on my corporate PC or connection, due to the lack of security and outdated virus protections. I was forced to use a personal computer and personal internet connection to access. Please consider updating this.
The intro was way too long. Also when I finished, it showed zero completion and had me start almost from the beginning. Fortunately when I called McKinna fixed it for me. Thanks McKinna!
The unusual names in the test questions is distracting.
THINK SOME OF THE CORRECT ANSWERS TO THE TEST QUESTIONS WERE A LITTLE VAGUE IN THERE OWN RITE. HOW DO YOU MANAGE A CONFLICT OF BROKERAGE VS ADVISORY AFTER THE CLIENT CHOOSES ONE OVER THE OTHER AFTER YOU EXPLAINED AND FULLY DISCLOSED BOTH. I THINK THE QUESTIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER DRAFTED OR THE CONTENT ADDRESSING IT BETTER.
It would be nice to be able to take the exam without having to sit through the whole presentation.
Not 2 hours
I am a visual learner so do not like the audio style and wish that I could just read the course material.
Would prefer written materials to read - am not an auditory learner so felt lots of pressure that I was unable to read and review material before exam
excellent course
The very uncommon names used in the exam were distracting. I kept trying to sound them out instead of focusing on the quesiton. I think if you're trying to use ethnic names, there are probably some easier ones than those, but I feel like standard names like John, Jane, Sara, etc would suffice without being distracting.
I do not like the fact that I can't download the course.
I know we live in a video age, but I do not like having to watch videos to complete a course. It is a waste of my time. I took a speed-reading course in college and can read over 1000 words per minute. Watching videos is painfully slow for me.
This was one of the worst courses I've ever taken- having the content read to me, SLOWLY, in a monotone AI voice made it incredibly difficult to focus. If I could have upped the reading speed to even 1.4x it would have been much more bearable, or better yet if there had been an option just to read the contents rather than be read to like a dimwitted child (with no matching text on screen: I learn best by reading so this was honestly one of the worst possible ways for me to "learn" and I'm grateful I already knew the material). I really, REALY hated it, and while I understand that it's probably something to do with the hour requirement, at the VERY least you should get an actual human with actual human inflections to read the material aloud. The AI thing made me want to scream.
I was not aware that the course browser didn't track my progress without clicking the "exit" button if I had to leave and come back to the course. It would be nice to explain that function better or automatically track the progress without having to "click" exit to save my spot. I had to do the course twice.
First, I wish there was a test out option as I have been in the industry 33 years. Second, the weird names of the people in the exam caused the spell check on your end to use area instead of Arya and made it a little confusing.
High quality content for a reasonable price. Nice to have a good alternative from using Kaplan which I feel corners the continuing education market with exploitive additional costs.
I found the read-it-to-me audio to be slow and time consuming. I would appreciate the opportunity to increase the speed of the playback.
I scored 100% and was very surprised. The course had far too much content and the questions choices were very hard to select as the choices were very close between a right and wrong answer. I felt lucky to pass. CFP process becoming too complicated
2 spelling errors in "Menu" that are likely typographical errors: Componenets (vs. Components) of the Fiduciary Duty, and Selecitng (vs. Selecting) and Using Technology.
This course was covered too many objectives and materials to review.
I realize this was Ethics course, but I didn't think the questions went with the information presented. But, again this is probably due to the course being Ethics. I'll have a better judgment in my next course.
I wish there was an option to change the speed of the "read it to me" feature.
Excellent materials and training on CFP ethics.
The course content and presentation were clear and well organized. The course is an excellent review of CFP Ethics.
While I appreciate the read it to me option, I would have liked to have the ability to read the content on my own.
The only thing i would change would be to be able to move forward when the narration stops as on some slides - it seems to slow down the movement to the next section.
I do not like the read-it-to-me audio. Course takes more time than the 2 hours of credit. Info in the audio should be on the screen & we should be allowed to read it without the audio. I am a visual person. I need to see it & read it myself.
There is a lot to onsider Found exam tricky but passed easily
The case study scenarios and related explanations to the correct responses.
Would have liked access to a written narrative - I was not able to enlarge the video to see it as well as I would have liked.
The difference between the narrated material and the material on the slides was a little confusing.
this course felt too time consuming
WebCe it great CFP prework is way to long
This course required listening instead of reading. We are not children, treat us like professionals!!!!!! What's up with the names of the clients and advisors on the test?
Thank you. It was an excellent course.
The playback speed on this course was extremely slow. Please speed it up for the future. Would rather have more content being delivered with a faster speed than how slow this was.
There were pauses at the end of each audio segment (with no audio) before I could click the "next" button. I didn't like the wasted time.
I appreciate how there were current updates as of 2024 in reference to software selection.
terrible course - the read-it-to-me was at a very slow pace and the voice was annoying. Prefer to read and review.
No matter the browser I used and even with the pop up blocker turned off, I kept receiving a pop up saying that there was a bug in the software and would have to start over because it had not saved my progress. This happened four times... incredibly frustrating!
The print was much too small.
EXCELLENT!! Especially in contrast to how bad my last CE course was. Only thing I didn't like is the lag on certain slides after the presentation started and the "next" button being active. I also had an issue of completing the course and it saying I didn't. I accidentally closed the main WebCe window at some point. I refreshed and was able to Fast Forward from a previous saved point.
took way too long to listen to the guy read all the material. too much material compared other other providers.
Instead of having to hit next every minute or so, it would be nice if the videos were longer and more consolidated.
The course took about three, not two, hours. I'm "old" and prefer studying from a written, hard copy text.
This was described as 2 hours of CE. It took me three hours to allow the read it to me to play-through. The content was fine, however the amount of time it took to earn 2 hours of CE is very frustrating.
The Ethics course was very long. The forced audio was frustrating as I would prefer to read the content.
Too much time to listen. Faster and better understanding to read.
having the option to listen in 1.25X speed would be nice.
Would prefer to NOT have the audio. Easier to read the material at my own pace.
there was a noticeable time-lag/delay in each slides narration before being allowed to hit the "next" button.
Clunky and unnecessarily cumbersome. Forcing me to listen to the entire course was a waste of time.
exam somehow did not record my answers had to retake the exam
Truly an excellent course!
My only complaint about the course was the fact that it wasn't a human voice, with natural inflection that read the material, and because you were required to listen to each slide, it seemed like it took forever.
Painful time requirement on each page. You should be able to skip ahead, spend less time on each page, or simply go to the test.
excellent content
seemed longer than 2 hours
Very hard to find CFP CE on website. There are other certifications that were given not specifically CFP. I spent an inordinate amount of time finding CE for CFP
This is a required course but the material is much longer than it needs to be.
good course with detail.
closed captioning would be easier than the side bar reading of the transcript
The name "Arya" is misspelled at one point to be "Area" and should be corrected in the exam question. Otherwise, the topic is dry but expertly conveyed and taught by WebCE.
The course didn’t save my progress, so I had to click through twice. Frustrating.
Advisor's name is misspelled in questions 5 and 8
Too long, novel, but inappropriate, names in scenarios.... why? Test questions were too subjective and needed more explanation than given if kept as a test of understanding the material! The Code of Ethics is defined as "objective" rather than "subjective"; then the test should confirm this point more clearly.
Providing chapter quizzes with real multiple choice questions, would had more value
Dislike statement that 70% passes. This is unethical to state because to fulfill 70% one must be correct on 75%, 9 questions! Dislike so many uncommon names used
Disliked the fact that we had to sit through someone reading the material instead of reading it (much faster) ourselves!!
Very solid and thorough
Great learning materials. Thank you!
Please try to use normal common names for questions... no one wants to read a question where it's harder to figure out the name than it is to answer the question itself!
This content is so basic I can't believe it qualifies. CFP Board presents as if a CFP has never learned anything during certification process
The computer-generated audio does a poor job of inflection and word emphasis, which at minimum is boring and at worse, sometimes confusing. Please also include more examples/case-studies.
I liked the audio, but it is somewhat confusing next to the slides that depict the information in a different way.
In most cases, I prefer to read the content rather than listen. However, I found the instructional value in listening as good for this program.
The course slides are excellent. The spoken content is monotonous, dry and, consequently, this was not a very high-quality CE experience for me. I'd recommend someone read the content in an energized, lively manner, and that the content me rewritten and broken up with videos and interactive content to make it more engaging. CFP Board should strive to do better than this.
I would have preferred to have the option of reading the material instead of listening to audio. It would have save me much time without loss of comprehension.
The AI voice to text was distracting as well as the volume modulation throughout the presentations
i thought the content was very explained.
CFP Board should consider making Ethics CF requirement 4 credits. Over the 20 years I have been a certificant, the scope of Ethics, such as the code and colmpliance requirements, has increased. The time needed for this course is appropriate, but much longer than would other wise be needed for 2 CE credits.
Offer option to speed up the speakers presentation
I didn't like being required to listen to the 'read to me feature'. i prefer to read the material at my own pace.
As a visual learner I would have liked to be able to read the material rather than have it read. Also, almost every audio clip stalled about 10 seconds after starting for about 30 seconds before continuing. This was very distracting and annoying.
Your CFP CE package is somewhat confusing. It should be simplified - one price for accessing all CE credit courses. Will come back if WebCE is improving with a simple and competitive pricing.
Many sections are too short with too little information - could combine sections together if possible. Overall easy to follow and informative.
I would suggest to allow for course to be downloaded via PDF format for future reference.
even after the read-it-to-me audio is ended I still couldn't click to the next page. There were delays for most pages.
The exam questions were straight forward and not designed to be "tricky." Thanks
It was a very good class.
This course and the method used for education, training and testing, took much longer to complete than anticipated and certainly longer than two (2) hours
really not happy with the slowness of the speech and no ability to speed up the audio.
The test questions were a bit ambiguous.
The training was good, but took so long. ie. -the card would have a paragraph i could read in 10 seconds, but it took a minute and a half for the narration until i could click next and move on. this made it much longer than it needed to be in time, although the content was about right. It also made it tedious and hard to focus. I think going through the course took about 3 hours instead of 2
An option to read the material would have been nice. I learn better by reading than by hearing.
Would like more discussion about the firm's responsibilities Such as Quota's - Duty to inform that producer must sell a certain amount or be fired - the firm is putting an issue that is in conflict with the best interest of the prospect/ client
Very poor format. Too time consuming, opaque and poorly done. Web CE is excellent. The CFP curriculum is poorly done. I blame the CFP for insisting the course be conducted in this very poor format.
This course was structured like it was worth more than 2 credit hours. It took nearly double the time to complete.
Excellent course content; however volume should be higher
Very informative
The Ethics course is way longer than 2hrs, I probably put between the test and content upwards of 4 to 5 hours into this. Should be counted for more than 2hrs.
A number of spelling errors in the Menu - did no one run spell check?
I had completed the instructional videos, got to the Congratulations, Course is Completed Screen. Then was not sure what to do next, so I hit EXIT, which closed to the entire program. I logged back in and was required to continue the course form a midway part of the course. Very frustrating to have to repeat 35 minutes of the course!
I believe it is uneccessary to have the material read aloud, CFP professionals should be able to read it on their own to complete
Great content and examples that are realistic to the industry.
There were repeated technical difficulties, and the site had to be exited and then restarted, and went back further than where it left of.
the read it to me function is tedious. Need to advance the material a faster rate.
There was an error in one of the exam questions. A person was named "Arya" and then it was spelled "Area" later in the question.
Reading was awkward where there was commas. Sometimes there was a gap of time between the end of the talking and your ability to click next.
This particular Ethics course had no educational materials, and it was really just guessing the answers.
the scenarios and case studies were very helpful. More written information instead of verbal would be helpful
(Commenting as a retired professor who has taught the CFP courses to in-person and video students): Unfortunately, the ongoing drone of the male computer voice may harm individuals' ability to stay alert and focused upon the information. While participants were able to "mute" the computerized voice, should alternative speakers with more life-like intonation and cadence become available, it should greatly benefit your students. Thank you, Dr. T.
The read it to me audio seemed to be a requirement? I would have preferred to read through the information. Did I miss that as an option?
I would like the option to read the material in addition to the "read it to me" feature. Also, I recommending using names that are easier to pronounce. The names used confused me when analyzing the questions.
This was the worst CE course I've ever taken. I understand and appreciate that you want us to engage thoroughly with the material, but a 2 hour class shouldn't take 2 1/2 to listen to the audio. Also, I am not an auditory learner. I can read and comprehend the material much faster and more thoroughly than listening to the audio read every word on the slide SLOWLY. If this didn't have the audio and allowed me to read the material I would have been much happier with the course. If every course I've purchased is like this I will never use Web Ce again.
Best Ethics course I have taken.
Media/audio format does not make course more effective. Would recommend written course at reader's own pace. This avoids wasting the participants' time.
Would like additional PowerPoint screens to keep engaged during the presentation.
For a non-audio learner, being forced to listen to a generated voice read the content of the slides to me and having to wait until it finished to advance was unnecessary and distracting rather than helpful. I understand the idea of trying to force compliance with reviewing all of the content but, especially when we are doing an ethics course, you'd think there would be some trust in the people taking the course or at least a verification of understanding through the examination.
This required time to complete the training, pre-test, was way to long for a 20 year CFP(R), about two hours. It was all good material but just too much!
I paused the exam for several hours to meet with a client and when I returned began listening again. At the end of the program I tried to take the exam but it indicated that I had not listened to every lesson. I had to go back and listen again to half the presentation.
This course is far too long for only 2 credits of C.E.
I'd like to be able to control the speed of the play back. I'd also like to be able to just take the test without having to sit through this really dull topic. I'd have got the same score
It would have been more of a positive to have more interactive screens and less narrative which wasn't displayed on the screen.
It would be helpful to be able to speed up or go through the slides faster.
I did not like having the read it to me content and would prefer to self study through the material at my own pace.
Thanks for very instructive, practical, and thought provoking course.
