Are there any course approval restrictions for District of Columbia Insurance CE?
Licensees must take courses in license type held.
Multi-licensed producers must take a minimum of 6 hours in each license type held.
No more than 50% of the requirement can be in company-sponsored courses.
When does District of Columbia Insurance CE have to be completed?
The last day of the licensee's birth month every 2 years.
Can Insurance CE courses be repeated?
Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.
What are the Annuity Training requirements for District of Columbia?
Annuity Training Hours: 4 Frequency: Producers must complete a one-time 4-hour Annuity Suitability Training prior to selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products in D.C.
Residents and non-residents who have completed this training in another state with laws similar to D.C.'s law will be compliant with the requirement.
Can Insurance CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?
Excess CE hours are not allowed to be carried forward to the next 2-year license term.
What is the District of Columbia Insurance license renewal process?
Electronic renewals will be available 60 days prior to the expiration date.
CE requirements must be taken within 15 business days of expiration of the D.C. producers’ insurance license in order to qualify for license renewal. Failure to do so may result in the expiration of the license.
What are the WebCE District of Columbia Insurance CE course requirements?
WebCE courses are classified as online self-study courses.
Students should read through the course material for each course before attempting a final exam.
Self-study exams are closed-book and require a monitor.
Monitor requirements: A disinterested third party minimum age of 18 years who has no family or financial relationship. Therefore a proctor should not serve for examinations of family members, relatives, or dependents; employers or supervisors; employees or subordinates; partners, joint ventures, or co-owners; or anyone in whom the proctor or instructor has an economic or other interest in assuring the successful outcome of the examination.

Final exam passing score: 70%
If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
What is the access period for WebCE District of Columbia Insurance CE courses?
12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.
How often does WebCE report District of Columbia Insurance CE course completions?
Immediately upon course completion to State-Based Systems (SBS)
Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for District of Columbia Insurance CE courses?
Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed. Licensees should maintain the original certificate of completion in his or her files for the 2-year license term in which the CE was completed.
What are the District of Columbia Insurance CE requirements for non-residents?
Non-resident producers are not required to complete the District of Columbia CE requirements as long as the producer is in good standing with his or her home state.

Per state regulations, companies are required to provide training to employees for the topics below. WebCE courses can be used to satisfy the training by itself, or in some cases, can include CE credits for your insurance license renewal.
As clarified by FinCEN’s final rulings, the USA PATRIOT Act stipulates that financial services companies involved in the sale of covered products maintain an ongoing training program for all associates who are involved in any sale and administration of covered products. Please consult your firm on how to report WebCE courses for this training.
