What are the Insurance Exam Prep education requirements for Nebraska?

Nebraska does not require licensing candidates to complete prelicensing education; however, it is recommended to complete an exam prep course before attempting to take your state’s licensing exam.

How to get an insurance license in Nebraska

  1. Meet the general eligibility criteria
    • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • Maintain principal place of residence or business in Nebraska.

  2. Register and pass state licensing exam
    • Make an exam reservation at www.prometric.com or call 800-853-4753.
    • Candidates must bring signed identification with them to the test center. Candidates can either use a government-issued (e.g., driver’s license, state-issued or military id card) or identification that contains both a current photo and your signature.
    • Prometric notifies the Department of Insurance of your exam results within 2 business days.

  3. Apply for a License
    • After passing your licensing exam, complete the insurance license application online at www.nipr.com

What is the access period for WebCE Nebraska Insurance Exam Prep courses?

90 days from the date of purchase. One additional extension for an additional 90 days can be purchased for $50.

New residents who still hold an active license in their previous home state will not be required to complete pre-license education or take the license examination as long as:

  • The license being applied for is the same line of authority as in the previous state.
