Overview

A vital part of the funeral director's job is to be able to translate the wishes of the next-of-kin into a suitable pre-need plan and/or a fitting tribute, whatever that may be. To accomplish this—and to work ethically with the individuals and families you serve who are more than 55 years of age—it is necessary to understand "the why and how" of their thought patterns.

The goal of this course is to provide insights into the older generation's thought processes as well as how he or she transitions from one phase in life to another. By understanding how change impacts a senior, one can begin to understand how to ethically communicate with seniors, whatever their phase of life might be. Information presented in this course will also be helpful in personal relationships with older peers or family members.

  • recognize the thought patterns of senior clients and how to improve communication techniques
