Claims Evaluation

Course Description
Claims Evaluation provides an in-depth analysis of one of the most important aspects of property and liability claims adjusting: setting the value on a claim. The course provides a review of the entire claims-handling process, emphasizing where evaluation fits into the process, and noting the ethics associated with claims evaluation. It explores the evaluation process used in first-party claims and then examines liability claims, which require the evaluation not only of the claimant’s damages but also the insured’s liability. The course discusses claims reserves and explains how the claims reserving process is handled with different types of claims. Case applications are included in the course to better explain and illustrate key concepts.
The course includes the following chapters:
  • The Claims Adjustment Process
  • Evaluating First-Party Claims
  • Evaluating Third-Party Claims
  • Claims Reserves
