Senior Suitability

In 2008, 2010, and 2013, the state of Florida enacted a number of changes to its insurance laws that establish new measures for the recommendation and sale of annuity products. The purpose of the changes is to provide greater protection to the state’s consumers by requiring agents and insurers to conform to specific sales and marketing requirements and precise suitability standards. This course reviews these requirements and standards and explains why they were put into place. The course covers the following topics:

  • The Suitability Issue
  • Annuity Products
  • Duties of Insurers and Insurance Agents
  • Unfair and Deceptive Acts
  • Ethical Considerations
