California Long-Term Care 8-Hour Agent Training

This course provides the 8 hours of training and instruction required of all agents who sell long-term care insurance in California. It covers the topics included in the most recent (2013) Department of Insurance course outline and addresses the required learning objectives. 

Specifically, the course covers the following subjects: 
  • overview of long-term care and long-term care providers 
  • sources of long-term care funding
  • long-term care insurance policies and provisions 
  • federal legislation affecting long-term care and long-term care insurance 
  • California statutory policy provisions, requirements, and terminology
  • California Department of Insurance authority 
  • California Partnership for Long-Term Care
  • advertising guidelines and marketing practices
