Colorado Long-Term Care: Programs, Policies, and Partnerships

This course offers a comprehensive look at long-term care and long-term care insurance. It was designed to deliver the allowed 8 hours of self-study for Colorado’s 16-hour long-term care training requirement for licensed producers who sell LTC insurance.

The course details the facts and facets of long-term care: what it is, how it is provided, and how it can be funded. It explores the nature of long-term care, LTC services and providers, LTC insurance, partnership programs, and qualified LTC partnership policies. It covers federal and state programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, and explains the relationship between state LTC partnership programs and other private and public coverage of LTC services. The course also includes an in-depth discussion of the market for long-term care insurance and the ethics and suitability standards associated with the sale of LTCI policies.

This course has been approved for 8 hours of Colorado’s LTC and LTC partnership training requirement. This course is approved only for Part I of the state’s 16-hour requirement and must be supplemented with 8 hours of live classroom instruction.
