MassHealth Long-Term Care: Plans and Programs (Does meet MA LTC)

This course provides an overview of Massachusetts’ MassHealth program and how the purchase of a qualifying long-term care insurance policy can provide certain asset and estate recovery protections. The course is written to offer a core aspect of the 8-hour training necessary to sell long-term care insurance in Massachusetts and is intended primarily for licensed producers who need specific training on Massachusetts’ MassHealth (Medicaid) program. The course includes the information provided by the state’s Division of Insurance that must be included in all long-term care study programs. 

The course covers:  
  • the basics of MassHealth long-term care
  • MassHealth estate recovery rules
  • the ways in which purchasing a qualified long-term care policy can protect the owner’s home
  • qualifying long-term care insurance policy requirements
