Minnesota Medical Assistance Program

This course was developed to provide the state-specific portion of Minnesota’s 8-hour long-term care producer training requirement. It is intended primarily for nonresident Minnesota producers who have completed a general course of study on long-term care, long-term care insurance, and the basics of partnership programs, but need training that is specific to Minnesota’s Medical Assistance (MA) program. This course covers

  • the rules relating to eligibility for Medical Assistance payment of long-term care services in Minnesota;
  • the interaction between Medical Assistance and the Minnesota LTC Partnership program; and
  • how individuals can apply for Medical Assistance.

The course is based on the long-term care partnership training material developed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. This course alone does not cover the full 8-hour training Minnesota requires for the sale of long-term care insurance. (For this purpose, WebCE offers the state-approved Medical Assistance Eligibility and the Minnesota Long-Term Care Partnership Program.)
