Core Law


The Florida Legislature passes and amends real estate law each year. These laws are published in the Florida Statutes Chapter 475 and in Rules of the Florida Real Estate Commission, Chapter 61J2, Florida Administrative Code. 

This course focuses on recent changes to state and federal real estate license law, highlighting both law and rules. This course meets the prescribed 3 hours of core law continuing education.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 

  • explain the three types of authorized brokerage relationships in Florida
  • summarize the Brokerage Relationship Disclosure Form and discuss the applicability of the disclosure requirements
  • discuss and explain the changes to the Florida Homestead Laws
  • list recent relevant changes in Florida, including state and federal laws impacting real estate
