Overview

Texas real estate licensees face a changing marketplace in which quick decisions can make the difference in closing a transaction. Maintaining competence in this increasingly competitive profession demands that licensees receive up-to-date information on new statutes and rules, leasing, property management, sales transactions, contract forms, and hot topics. Real estate licensees are required to take this four-hour core course concerning recent updates and changes to laws, regulations, legal definitions, ethics of practice and forms as they apply to real estate in Texas.

This course must be completed by midnight 12/31/2019.

Learning Objectives

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

  • understand the Texas rule and law changes that affect brokerage practices
  • recognize the duties of lease listing agents and leasing agents
  • understand the responsibilities of a property manager
  • identify changes that have been made to mandatory contract forms in Texas
  • describe some of the hot topics in real estate today, including access to vacant rental property, ADA-compliant websites, and the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act
