OK Ethics

Overview

Real estate licensees who act unethically may be subject to civil liability for monetary damages, and disciplinary action may be taken by the Commissioner, which could result in the suspension or revocation of their license. This course provides an overview of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and its practical application to everyday real estate practice by NAR members.

This course is designed to meet the requirements of the NAR Code of Ethics Training.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • describe the general ethical duties that apply when making business decisions
  • explain the ethical duties set forth by the Code to clients and customers, to the public, and to other REALTORS®
  • understand how mediation, arbitration, and procuring cause are used to resolve disputes
  • describe REALTORS®' duties of disclosure, accounting, and reasonable care and diligence to customers as well as clients
