Overview

This course provides the foundation for understanding IRA rollovers,  along with practical information to help guide financial professionals when assisting clients with wealth management techniques within their retirement plans.

Licensed professionals need to be versed on the rules governing IRA rollovers to ensure that their clients do not expose their assets to unwarranted taxes and penalties.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • differentiate between a traditional and Roth IRA and know the advantages of rolling over retirement plan assets to Roth IRAs
  • recognize those investments that can be best utilized within IRAs
  • describe a direct and indirect rollover as well as detail the tax implications of the respective methods

  • outline the distribution and rollover options a beneficiary has upon inheriting an IRA
  • demonstrate an understanding of how Section 1035 exchanges work
