Colorado 2021 Annual Commission Update

Overview

Each year, the Colorado Annual Commission Update Course provides important information about recent regulatory changes and practice issues that affect Colorado real estate licensees. This four-hour course meets the mandatory course requirement for Colorado broker continuing education. It explains recent regulatory and Commission changes that affect the real estate industry, including rule changes, law revisions, and form and contract updates.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • discuss licensees' reporting requirements and the different violations that must be reported to the Commission
  • explain the advertising rules that licensees must comply with
  • discuss when and how to make broker relationship disclosures
  • describe how the Seller's Property Disclosure form is used and the broker's role
  • define competency and common pitfalls
  • discuss landlord/tenant forms/disclosures and the escrow account rules
  • •outline the protections under the federal Fair Housing Act and Colorado law
  • explain the use of the Post-Closing Occupancy Agreement, the Manufactured Home forms, and new CREC contracts and form changes
  • discuss when and how to use the Colorado Foreclosure Protection Act contract
