2020-2022 Alaska Broker Supervision and Management

Overview

Brokers, by virtue of their license, are held to a higher level of responsibility than other licensees. They assume important duties for a brokerage including supervising teams, maintaining records, creating office policies, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local laws. This course reviews these important topics, which will help ensure that brokers and other licensees are transacting real estate ethically and in compliance with license law.

This course meets Alaska's mandatory two-hour Broker Supervision and Management course requirement.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • explain a broker's supervisory duties
  • describe a broker's responsibility to create written office policies and procedures
  • recognize a broker's duties regarding principal offices and branch offices, including advertising and displaying license certificates
  • explain broker recordkeeping requirements for transactions and trust accounts
  • identify different broker-agent relationships and compensation structures
