2022 Colorado Annual Commission Update

Overview

Each year, the Colorado Annual Commission Update Course provides important information about recent regulatory changes and practice issues that affect Colorado real estate licensees. This four-hour course meets the mandatory course requirement for Colorado broker continuing education. It explains recent regulatory and Commission changes that affect the real estate industry, including rule changes, law revisions, and form and contract updates.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • recognize the types of complaints the Commission receives and disciplinary actions it imposes
  • describe brokers' duties to avoid conflicts of interest and to make full disclosure of adverse material facts
  • explain the main provisions of the Commission Position Statement, CP-20, governing licensed and unlicensed real estate administrative professionals (REAPs)
  • describe the rules governing lockbox use and the main complaints associated with them
  • describe new CREC rule changes and contracts and forms changes
  • recognize how the foreclosure process works in Colorado
  • differentiate between short sales and foreclosures
  • •outline the rules governing the advertising of distressed sale properties
  • describe recent legislative changes that affect affordable housing, HOAs and flags, and subdivisions
