The American College of Financial Services’ continuing education program, PACE, has been phased out and replaced by the Professional Recertification Program. This became effective January 1, 2017. Please click here for more information.
All applicable Professional Recertification Program requirements must be completed to maintain the right to use designations from The American College of Financial Services.30 hours of CE including, 1 hour of ethics, will be required every two years, for client-facing* designees.All non-client-facing* designees will be required to complete at least one hour of ethics CE every two years.
Participation is generally not required for legacy marks no longer offered to new students by The College, and for those conferred by other institutions, including REBC®, RHU®, ChHC®, and LUTCF. The CASL® designation remains subject to recertification.
*Client facing: An individual can be client facing based on licenses, degrees, or certifications that individual holds, and/or how that person is compensated. A client-facing individual is defined as someone who holds a Resident or Non-resident State Life & Health License, and/or Investment Company & Variable Products (Series 6), General Securities Representative (Series 7), Municipal Securities Representative (Series 52), Mutual Funds (Series 63), Uniform Investment Adviser Law (Series 65) or Uniform Combined State Law (Series 66) registrations from FINRA, and/or is a JD, CPA or CFA®. Additionally, client-facing individuals collect compensation (commissions, fees or concessions) from their current work with clients and/or are managing/supervising individuals who are compensated from work with clients regarding the sale, recommendation, or advice on insurance or investment products.
Recertification periods are every 2 years, the current recertification period is 2017/2018.

The fee will cover all of the participating designations a student earns from The American College of Financial Services.The annual recertification fee is paid in advance of the recertification year. For example, the 2018 annual recertification fee will be due by December 31, 2017, and can be paid any time during the 2017 year. A late fee will be assessed after the last day of the calendar year.
The final exam must be passed with a score of 70 percent or higher to receive credit. The Code of Ethics and/or Practice Standards programs must have a passing score of 80 percent or higher.
Self-study final exams are open-book and do not require a proctor. Students may refer to the course material as often as needed.
No credit may be carried over from excess hours earned during a reporting period.
Credit will not be received for any course taken more than once in any 2-year certification period.
CE credit that is taken outside of The College is self-reported online through one’s individual account with The College. The CE requirement must be reported by the end of the second year of the recertification period. The designee will be required to maintain appropriate documentation that substantiates the validity of any CE that is reported under the Professional Recertification Program.
WebCE provides online, printable certificates of completion. Certificates of completion are available to print online immediately after the final exam is passed.
