American College Professional Recertification Program CE Requirements

What are the Certification CE requirements for American College?

CLU®, ChFC®, RICP®, CLF®, CASL®, CAP®, ChSNC®, FSCP® and WMCP® certification holders are subject to recertification and need to complete the following CE hours:

30 hours total

Are there any subject area requirements for Professional Recertification Program CE?

Ethics: 1 CE hour

Are there any course approval restrictions for Professional Recertification Program Certification CE?

Programs pre-approved for CE credits by the CFP Board of Standards are accepted by the American College for the Professional Recertification Program.

Can Professional Recertification Program CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in 2-year certification period.

When does Professional Recertification Program CE have to be completed?

12/31 of the recertification period every 2 years.

Can Professional Recertification Program CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

No credit may be carried over from excess hours earned during a reporting period.

What is the renewal process for a Professional Recertification Program Certification?

  1. Recertify their knowledge with continuing education (CE) every two years

Note: The CE requirement must be reported by the end of the second year of the recertification period. The designee will be required to maintain appropriate documentation that substantiates the validity of any CE that is reported under the Professional Recertification Program.

  1. Recommit to The American College of Financial Services standard of ethics
  2. Reconfirm client-facing status annually
  3. Update contact information annually
  4. Pay an annual fee to enable The College to enforce the professional standards of the program

All applicable Professional Recertification Program requirements must be completed to maintain the right to use designations from The American College of Financial Services.

What are the WebCE American College Certification CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are online pre-approved self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE American College Certification CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase

How often does WebCE report American College Certification CE course completions?

WebCE does not report American College course completions as it is CE credit taken outside of The College. Students must self-report their CE credits in their American College account.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for American College Certification CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Certification holders must keep a copy of each certificate of completion.
