The last day of the licensee's birth month, every 2 years.

Can Insurance CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

What are the Annuity Training requirements for Ohio?

Annuity Best Interest Training
Hours: 4
Frequency: One-time training of a 4-Hour Annuity Suitability and Best Interest Standards course must be complete prior to selling annuity products.

Residents and non-residents who have completed training including the NAIC Best Interest Standards in another state with laws similar to Ohio law will be deemed compliant with this requirement.

Initial Training
Hours: 8
Frequency: One-time training must be complete prior to selling LTC products.

Frequency: Ongoing training must be completed every license period, following the initial training requirement.

Can Insurance CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

A maximum of 12 excess CE hours may be carried over to the next 2-year license term. All carryover credits are applied as general credits and therefore agents will continue to need to meet the ethics requirement.

Electronic renewals will be available 90 days prior to the expiration date
Continuing Education requirements must be met prior to submission of a renewal application. Providers have 15 days to report your CE completions, so please plan accordingly to avoid a lapse in licensure.

WebCE courses are classified as online self-study courses.
Students should read through the course material for each course before attempting a final exam.
Self-study exams are closed-book and do not require a monitor.
Final exam passing score: 70%
If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Ohio Insurance CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

The following licensees are exempt from continuing education requirements:

Persons holding a limited authority license.
Persons granted inactive license status by the State Director of Insurance.

Does Ohio require any workplace compliance training?

Per state regulations, companies are required to provide training to employees for the topics below. WebCE courses can be used to satisfy the training by itself, or in some cases, can include CE credits for your insurance license renewal.

As clarified by FinCEN’s final rulings, the USA PATRIOT Act stipulates that financial services companies involved in the sale of covered products maintain an ongoing training program for all associates who are involved in any sale and administration of covered products. Ohio Revised Code 3999.41 states every insurer shall adopt an anti-fraud program and shall specify in a written plan the procedures it will follow when instances of insurance fraud or suspected insurance fraud are brought to its attention.
