WebCE Delivers Internet-Based Continuing Education to the St. Paul Companies, Inc.

DALLAS – More than 2,500 claim handlers with The St. Paul Companies, Inc. will now be able to complete state-required insurance continuing education (CE) courses online and at their own convenience, thanks to a strategic alliance announced today with WebCE, the leading provider of Internet-based continuing education (CE) courses to the insurance industry.

“Our claim handlers are required to maintain insurance licenses for a variety of states. As a result, travel costs and centralization made it difficult and costly for them to have access to CE opportunities,” said Lee Saxton, Manager of Claim Education of St. Paul, a provider of property-liability, life insurance and reinsurance worldwide. “By partnering with WebCE, our claim handlers can meet their CE requirements at their own desks while WebCE takes care of everything they need to know about renewing their respective licenses.”

WebCE offers more than 50 state-approved insurance courses and is approved to deliver CE accredited curriculum to insurance professionals in all 45 states that allow distance learning.

“This is the type of situation that makes us such a valuable resource to companies such as St. Paul,” said Gary Henkel, CEO of WebCE. “With today’s demanding work schedules, maintaining licenses and fulfilling CE requirements in various states has become increasingly difficult and costly. We allow these professionals to meet their requirements at their convenience and often as significant savings in cost.”

WebCE’s state approved CE products and services will be offered to the St. Paul claim handlers through the already existing Claim College, an ongoing educational center within The St. Paul University, which assists agents, employees and handlers in meeting industry mandated educational requirements.

“We have learned that keeping our own internal courses certified by various states, getting paperwork filed and all the other tasks that go into renewing a license is very resource intensive,” said Saxton. “WebCE is going to be very beneficial in this area since they take care of all the leg work.”
