Ethical
reasoning and behavior is the foundation of the statutes and regulations which
govern the practice of accounting in Virginia. The Virginia Commonwealth’s
accounting statutes and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct work in concert
to ensure the core values listed in the UAA — integrity, objectivity and
independence. When CPAs are up-to-date on those statutes and regulations, the
Virginia Board of Accountancy (VBOA) can ensure that its licensees are
upholding those values and serving Virginia’s citizens to the best of their
abilities.
WebCE recently added a new Virginia CPA CPE ethics course to our online course
catalog to help VA CPAs complete their CPE requirements and stay up-to-date
with VA statutes and regulations. The Virginia Board of Accountancy
(VBOA) requires CPAs to fulfill an annual 2-hour CPE requirement for 2018.
WebCE’s
Virginia-Specific Ethics Course 2018 fulfills this
requirement through our stress-free and easy to use platform.
In addition to meeting the VBOA requirements, this course contains engaging
case studies and practice questions, all designed to update CPAs on regulatory
developments, provide guidance regarding the relevance of those laws, rules,
and regulations for their areas of interest and/or practice. The goal is to
provoke thought and discussion among CPAs on the role and practical application
of ethics within the profession.
By the end of this course, you will be able to identify updates to Virginia’s
regulations and policies, recall the Code of Professional Conduct, and apply
these principles to your work as a CPA professional.
