2021 Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Renewal Season

It’s time for the 2021 Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) renewal season! And time again to get ahead of the competition by participating in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program with WebCE. The IRS AFSP program is intended to recognize and encourage unenrolled tax return preparers who want to voluntarily increase their tax knowledge and improve their tax filing season competency through continuing education (CE).  By earning your AFSP – Record of Completion, you will:

  • refresh your tax knowledge with the latest updates and changes
  • differentiate yourself from other unenrolled preparers
  • become more discoverable through the IRS’s Federal Tax Return Preparers directory
  • increase your marketability to clients and offer more services like representation

To receive your AFSP – Record of Completion, AFSP participants must complete 18 hours of continuing education from an IRS-approved CE provider like WebCE. The AFSP program requires completing the following CE course hours:

  • 6-hour Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course
  • 10 hours of federal tax law
  • 2 hours of ethics

With WebCE, you can take the stress and guesswork out of participating in the Annual Filing Season Program with our convenient online courses, unlimited exam retakes, printable certificates, and next-day reporting to the IRS. As an approved IRS AFSP continuing education provider, WebCE offers a variety of tax preparer CE and CPE courses satisfying the AFSP CE requirements, including the required 2021 Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course. The 2021 AFTR course will be available online from June 1 – December 31, 2020.
