It’s easier than ever for veterans to begin their career in insurance. Veterans can take advantage of a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs program that reimburses military veterans for taking the insurance licensing exam. Under the GI Bill’s Licensing and Certification benefit, veterans may be eligible for up to $2,000 for the cost of taking exams for professional licenses and/or certifications in various fields, including the insurance industry.
To be eligible for the VA exam reimbursement program, a veteran must live in a state that participates in the VA program, and states must have their licensing examinations approved by the VA.
