Courses must be approved for the specific license held.
Four Categories for Credit

Category A Academic: includes scholarly articles, professional speeches or lectures, home-study courses and some college courses.

Category B Professional Activities: includes attendance at a convention accredited by the APFSP, single-theme workshop, service as an officer in an organization.

Category C Career Review: must submit a form to APFSP with documentation for this credit.

Category D Public Education: includes civic or church organizations and any offices held.
Once 180 hours of activities (18.0 CEUs) across the four categories has been achieved, the member is eligible for certification, and the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) may be awarded.
Note: All FuneralCE courses are categorized as home-study and fall under
Category A Academic.
