With a Series 6 license you can broaden your portfolio of products to include soliciting, purchasing, or selling mutual funds, closed-end funds on the initial public offering only, variable annuities, unit investment trusts, and municipal fund securities.

With a Series 7 license, registered reps can sell the broadest range of securities including corporate securities, municipal securities, and options.
The Series 65 exam is another Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination designed to qualify candidates as investment adviser representatives.
The Series 63 license will qualify individuals as investment advisor representatives or securities agents. The exams cover the principles of state securities regulation reflected in the Uniform Securities Act and will provide a basis for state securities administrators to determine an applicant’s knowledge and understanding of state law and regulations.
The Series 66 license will qualify individuals as investment advisor representatives or securities agents. The Series 66 exam is relatively new exam created by NASAA. It is a combination of Series 63 and Series 65, but since a prerequisite for the exam is successful completion of the Series 7, it does not include the product, analysis, and strategy questions that are a large part of the Series 65.
The Series 24 licensing exam assesses the competency of an entry-level principal to perform their job as a principal dependent on their corequisite registrations.
