Certified Self Funding Specialist® (CSFS)

Earn life and health insurance Continuing Education credits and obtain a Certified Self Funding Specialist® (CSFS®) designation online through the Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA). The seven modules of the CSFS® certification provide a comprehensive and unmatched understanding of the self-funded benefit model. The courses and certification are updated continuously, and they highlight the current legal and regulatory challenges facing the self-funded industry. 

 

Each module qualifies for Continuing Education credits. When all seven courses are successfully completed, it culminates in the award of the Certified Self Funding Specialist® (CSFS®) certification. Individual courses are also offered, without certification, after taking the Introductory course.

HCAA University

In addition to the CSFS® designation, you can now access HCAA University, our digital training platform designed to onboard, upskill, and empower professionals in the self-funding space. The foundational course, which is named ‘The Basics of Self-Funding’, is perfect for new hires or seasoned professionals seeking a strong knowledge base.  HCAA's newest addition to this platform is called 'The Ethics of Self-Funding'.  This course is designed both for the licensed professional and any professional desiring an understanding of ethics and how it can inform and shape the decisions you make.
