It would be most helpful if you were to provide and INDEX to this course, as it would be easier to find material reviewed when taking the exam than using the table of contents (particularly when using a paper copy).
Thanks for having this at reasonable prices!
No response from support on why my credits have not been reported to the IRS. If I can't get my units reported, I may consider other training options in the future.
There should be more examples
Thank you!
WHEN SEARCHING THE COURSE MATERIALS, PROVIDE A JUMP TO THE APPLICABLE SECTIONS
I like the fact that this exam has less questions that requires formulas, which tend to consume a lot time.
thank you
Great work !!
I like the simple format and that nearly ALL of the course is also read to me while I read along. It helps keep me focused and on track.
The amount of material is so voluminous, it is sometimes difficult to locate the section to which the applicable material applies. It seems to me, the amount of material deserves more than 6 credit hours.
Your dedication in preparing such a thoughtful and well-structured IRS course truly shines through. The clarity of your teaching, the depth of your knowledge, and the way you’ve made complex tax rules accessible reflect not only your expertise but also your genuine commitment to helping others succeed. You’ve turned what could feel overwhelming into something approachable and empowering. That’s the mark of a great educator—someone who doesn’t just deliver information, but inspires confidence and growth in every learner. Thank you for investing your time, energy, and passion into this course. The impact of your work will ripple far beyond the classroom, shaping better professionals and stronger compliance practices.
I liked the Scenario's for the topic.
I have been using WEB CE for a number of years. Course organization and content are excellent.
A good overview with relevant examples/case studies of unenrolled preparers' responsibilities.
I found the course to be straightforward and easy to follow. I appreciate that the questions were straightforward as well.
only issue I had was, there is a search for the chapter, yet it does not take you to the area of that search, only states whether that search is contained in the chapter. So basically useless to have.
I was a little nervous. During the study period I took longer and kept saving and coming back. But, during the exam I had to stay focused. It was all worth it. Let me go to the next section.
You guys teach me everything I need to know per each industry in which I am certified and licensed
Promptly deliver to IRS. Easy to study
The training was very informative, and it was very easy to navigate through and understand.
The only thing I didn't care for was AI doing the audio. AI doesn't stop at punctuation so at times it is hard to follow.
Excellent class, but a lot of information to digest.
i think a video slide show that had illustrations would be great.
Relative to refinancing of morgages/indebteness, more clarity for what and how much mortgage interest could be deducted needs more clarification as to what deductible under the TCJA rules are. .
You should update this to reflect the OBBBA changes. They are not here!
Great Course!
The ethics course was worthwhile and the cost for obtaining my required CE credits was decent.
Overall, a very good course.
Thanks again!!!!!
EXCELLENT MATERIALS OF STUDIES
Simple, "belletized" examples needed....."bulletize" the main points....
More detailed examples needed dealing with violations of solicitation for employment
this course had no links back to the chapter in the material like other classes did. That may be a requirement of the CFP Board but, if not, they should be added.
Thanks for the update!
on GSTX and gifting in general the use of more examples would be ideal
All course must be matched with the EA Exam wherein we will be benefited more than the course. Thanks for your excellent delivery.
This course could be improved by closely editing. In my opinion there were many paragraphs that were hard to understand, some due to grammatical errors. Others for wording.
very interesting class thank u
This course was poorly written and contained numerous factual errors. Sentence structure was awkward. Filing Form 709 was referred to (vs Form 706) in this sentence: "All estate which file a Form 709, Estate Tax Return, after 2015..." There were also typographical errors that confused meaning: Prorated vs. probated. You need to take this course off the shelf and provide one that is not so poorly done.
EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT
I am still unsure about the answer and reasoning for test question 20, also the question: 'What is the value of Stanley’s gross estate?' However, I truly appreciate the learning experience provided by Web CE. Thank you!"
This course was very accessible to me as a nonvisual user, depending solely on audio or Braille to access.
The exam referred to 2024 dollar limits, while the course materials referred to 2025 dollar limits. This discrepancy should be corrected.
Some of the text was hard to follow. I found myself re-reading several paragraphs per section not because of difficulty, but because of wording used. The auto audio never works. I have to press play on every page. One of the practice questions in the last section had a math error. The corrected response was 49 yet the text referred to 3x18 annual exclusion amounts which is not 49. The example gifts provided in the question also did not add to 49.
some questions were a bit vague with the dates as numbers have changed depending on the year being asked about in the question
Thank you.
I like this because it is not expensive and easy to me to learn thanks.
Excellent course. Thank you
This is hands down the worst CE course I have ever taken, and I use to teach CPE CE courses on estate planning. Granted that was over 20 years ago. If I didn't have a good grasp of estate planning already, I would have NEVER been able to pass this exam based on the content. Using negatives instead of positives is ALWAYS confusing. You need to use PLAIN language in the CE. There was not a lot a legalese but there might as well have been as the writer simply brought up/threw in terms that had not been properly defined. They also defined terms using other obscure terms. You need a "lay" person to edit this into an understandable course.
I believe that the question about Joan and Bob regarding portability is incorrect. There is also another question regarding "what credit" has to deal with transferring a spousal exclusion and the answer was "portability", but "portability is not a credit. The question should be reworded.
This was quite a bit easier than the previous test. Some answers could obviously be guessed by any lay person with modest inteligence (i.e. question involving sanctions and "laziness").
There's a lot of very good content. I think the formatting could use some help with better charts, tables, flow charts, graphics.
Content of the course if very good. Questions are not. Too many questions around unenrolled preparers.
Excellent Courses
Thank you very much!!
Loved all the case studies in chapter two of this course
The amount of errors in this course due to what appears to be a regurgitation of a prior-year course with the lack of proper proof-reading was substantial. In as much, it made this course extremely a waste of time. The actual examples that use math are one of the best way to get across the course material and when they are wrong and use multiple years (2022/ 2023 and 2024) it makes it difficult to really learn.
It was short and to the point.
Thank you so much!!
I really like the ability to do the course on my own and in my own time.
Thought the course was quite good overall. I was thankful for the mute button as the robotic reader was annoying.
Thanks for your great courses!
very good info
Well made trainings. Thanks!
Enhanced my knowledge and understanding of the subject material.
Liked the moderator reading the course materials - it seemed to help in preparing for the test.
There are another courses providers more specific about this particular course
Thank you for providing this course.
A good learning experience . . . thank you
A few questions on the exam were not consistent with the course material.
Chapter 2 tax tables appear inaccurate (no mention of 2022 rates although mentioned in the test) and "rule against perpetuities" is no ;longer true (ESOPs can be perpetual)
I have appreciated using your materials
There should have been questions regarding nonresident aliens and the US estate tax.
The design of both the questions and the answers do not properly reflect the knowledge sought to be tested. Trickey wording of the questions and the answers are completely unnecessary. The IRS has moved away for this style of test Q&A in their EA exams. Please do better.
Some of the gross estate calculations from previous years were difficult to find exact answers. Life Insurance valuation for gross estate in the reading material were not based on death benefit amount of owner. I believe you need to review these items.
the dates were not updated and used 2022 when there were no references to that date
THANK YOU!
Course was thorough in explaining the ethics requirements of the preparer with regards to their respective clients and responsibilities to the IRS.
LOVE IT
I have used your company often for my required continued education requirements. Keep up the good work!
Would appreciate more examples of what does and doesn't constitute disreputable, and maybe a few more specifics about cases that have resulted in censure, suspension, and disbarment.
I liked being able to print out the class information ahead of time so I could read and study it before I got online.
Very easy to complete. No technical issues. You make it easy! Thank you!
very good experience
This course was obviously a cur and paste document. Sentences were not complete. Answers were sometimes substituted for different year than asked or just plain wrong. The legalese of the writing was incredibly annoying and extremely unclear. if I were a novice to this subject it would have been a waste of time and money.
It was good to to get an overview of the Circular 230 again. Thank you!
Alot of useful information here. Could take more time to learn and understand.
In places on the exam and practice questions, the dates weren't updated, For example, the exam asked what is the annual exclusion for 2023, to which I answered $2.92M BUT it was marked wrong. I'm guessing you meant to ask 2024.
One of the examples mentioned $500,000 of life insurance (in Chapter 3), yet in the narrative it said "The life insurance ($150,000)... Where did the $150,000 come from? Shouldn't it be $500,000? In Chapter 4, under the title "State Death Tax Deduction", it says "federal state tax (subject to limitations)." I believe the author meant to say "federal ESTATE tax".
1 Very poor "Find" function 2 Errors - in my case one exam question was repeated twice and one question was incorrectly posed 3 Difficult to navigate
course was informative, relatively easy to follow and maintained interest until finished
Get a real person to read it, please
The course was very informative. I learned a great deal on ethical practices of tax preparers.
We are in 2024 and you are asking questions from 2022! I want to learn when I do these CEs. This is pretty bad that you havent updated the estate numbers for 2024!
Please update to 2024 $ amounts.
This course should be worth more CE hours.
Please update the $ amounts for current year
There were numerous typographical errors in the text which made some sections hard to read. The fact that the audio would not read certain aspects of the table were annoying and the text was overwhelming since someone basically just copied and pasted a section of the code without commentary or interpretation. Why are you using 2022 numbers? This makes the content far less relevant for a buyer in 2024. How hard is it to make a few simple updates? There were definitely some factual errors and the overall presentation was sloppy.
I liked having the practice questions throughout. One thing that was a little confusing was that the course mentioned both 2022 and 2023 levels. There were a couple questions (I believe it was practice) where the answer was incorrect. I had to "answer" $45K, but the description of my answer said that "you are correct....$48K..."
questions focus on 2022 amounts and it is now February 2024
Not clear. Requires editing.
Clear, Concise
This course was an absolute abomintion. It was written for tax attorneys and not financial planners. Very technical, useless IRS references included. Many of the "explainations" were as understandable as Russian written backwards. Most of all it failed to discuss tax strategies (e.g. family limited partnerships) to limit estate and gift taxes. The GST discussion was a virtually inconmperhensive after thought. The whole thing read like it was copies out of IRS publications. Dump it and rewrite for financial planners, not tax lawyers.
Material was extremely detailed and at times confusing; it also took me almost 7 hours to complete for a 5 hours CE course...
There were several, content inconsistencies that should be corrected.
The content regarding how long a trust can continue is incorrect, since the rule against perpetuities has been abolished in some states and significantly extended in other states (for instance, in Florida a trust can continue for 1000 years)
There were multiple areas where the questions were only partially updated, eg the date of death of the decedent was in 2022, all the valuation dates given were in 2021. Not possible. There was another one where the year of the annual exclusion was given but the correct exclusion amount was not in the answers.
The content needs to be edited and proofed. There were many grammatical mistakes -- some of which impacted the sentence's meaning! This made it hard to know whether or not the information that was presented was accurate.
This material is very complicated. The course did a very decent job of covering it all.
This course took far longer than 5 hours if you’re doing it legit. Further, there were grammatical/informational errors, wording is sometimes very confusing, and it’s outdated.
I would like to see a course that is focused on Grantor retained, Charitable remainder and other advanced estate planning topics.
All material met my expectations and was easy to follow.
Some of the sample questions were incorrect. You had one talking about the 2022 gift tax exclusion being $15,000 - there was no answer saying it was $16,000 so that could be confusing for someone. Need to make sure you have reviewed and updated all of your information for the current year.
good course
Great course
Ease of use/Time to complete of this course may be the absolute worst of any I have ever taken. Text was very dense and WAY
It appeared to me that some areas were not edited correctly and that made it a bit confusing. Otherwise this is a great program.
The sample question choices did not match the correct answers. Too much material on obscure exceptions to the general rules. Citation to the IRS code was unnecessary and not helpful.
The written materials for this course were very sloppy. A comprehensive edit is necessary. Inconsistencies, inaccuracies, contradictions were everywhere, along with grammatical errors and unnecessarily confusing sentence structure. Several of the practice questions were wrong - i.e., the question and answer choices didn't use the same dollar amounts or the exclusion amounts referenced levels from different years. Very poor overall.
This particular course needs some heavy editing. Facts in question do not match given answers, answers on one of the exam questions is repeated twice, years do not match up with gifts, exclusion amounts, etc.
