Note: Newly licensed salespersons must complete a 20-hour post-licensing education course within one year of the issuance of their initial license. Newly licensed brokers must complete a 10-hour post-licensing education course within one year of the issuance of their initial license. WebCE does not currently offer post-licensing courses for Ohio.

Brokers

• Ohio Broker Responsibilities: 3 CE hours
• Civil Rights: 3 CE hours
• Core Law: 3 CE hours
• Canons of Ethics: 3 CE hours
• Electives: 18 CE hours

Salespersons

• Civil Rights: 3 CE hours
• Core Law: 3 CE hours
• Canons of Ethics: 3 CE hours
• Electives: 21 CE hours

Every three years by the licensee’s birth date.

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 3 year license term.

A maximum of 10 hours may be carried over to the next license term. Please note: The 10 hours will be considered elective hours. They will not count toward the 9 required core class hours for salespersons or the 12 required core class hours for brokers.

The Division's eLicense LPI Portal is now live for licensees. To track CE credits and ensure you receive important communications, you must register in the new system. This is a three-step process. First, create an OHID. Next, register with eLicense LPI using your OHID. Finally, claim your license in the LPI system. The Division of Real Estate has provided the following guides with more information on using eLicense LPI:

License Renewal: You can renew your license up to 60 days prior to your due date. You can either renew by mail or online, using the eLicense LPI website. If you renew by mail, send the renewal form from the Divison's website, education compliance form, and fee to the Division, along with CE certificates for any courses not listed under your name on the eLicense Center. Note: If you do not see your completed Continuing Education courses in the online portal while renewing your license, you must upload your attendance certificate to the portal to receive credit for the courses.

Renew Online

• WebCE courses are classified as distance education courses.
• No licensee shall receive credit for more than eight classroom hours of continuing education instruction taken in any one calendar day.
• Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes.
• Final exams are not required for CE.

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

Weekly to the Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing. Note: The Ohio eLicense LPI portal does not allow Continuing Education providers to upload course completion information at this time. If you do not see your courses in the portal while renewing your license, you must upload your attendance certificate to the portal to receive credit for the courses. There is no estimated date for when the state's reporting portal will be available to Continuing Education providers.

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

All Ohio real estate licensee are required to complete CE for their licensing requirements regardless of their residency.

Active licensees over the age of 70 are only required to complete the mandatory CE requirements.
