Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 1 year license term.

Can Funeral CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess CE credit hours earned in one license term may not be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Arizona Funeral license renewal process?

Funeral Board license(s) become renewal eligible by May 4th of each year. Between May 4th and July 1st, you may renew your license(s) without a late fee. Licensees are required to submit a renewal form (provided by the state) with the required fee and CE courses completed to the state.

What are the WebCE Arizona Funeral CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are online approved self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through the course material then complete the exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

How often does WebCE report Arizona Funeral CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions to the Arizona Board of Funeral Directors & Embalmers.

What are the Arizona Funeral CE requirements for non-residents?

Non-resident licensees practicing in AZ must meet the CE requirements for AZ. If a resident AZ licensee is living out of state they are exempt from CE.

Are there any CE exemptions?

  • In active duty military during time of war
  • Inactive status (meaning a licensed funeral director who is retired from practicing and not currently practicing embalming or funeral directing)
  • Licensees licensed for less than 12 months during a calendar year need to complete 1 credit hour of CE for each month of licensure.
