Can Funeral CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2-year license term.

Are there any Funeral CE credit type limits?

  • In-person or Live Webinar: Minimum 5 hours
  • Online Self-Study: Maximum 5 hours

Can Funeral CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess CE credit hours earned in one license term may not be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Georgia Funeral license renewal process?

Licensees will receive a notification from the Board approximately 60 days prior to the expiration date of the license. Funeral professionals are required to report / enter all CE credit hours earned on their Georgia license renewal application.

What are the WebCE Georgia Funeral CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are online approved self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Georgia Funeral CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase

How often does WebCE report Georgia Funeral CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions to the Georgia Board of Funeral Service.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Georgia Funeral CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Licensees should keep all certificates a minimum of 3 years for state auditing purposes.

What are the Georgia Funeral CE requirements for non-residents?

A non-resident licensee wishing to receive GA funeral CE credit for courses must meet the GA CE requirements.

Are there any CE exemptions?

  • Inactive License (meaning a licensed funeral director who is retired from practicing and not currently practicing embalming or funeral directing)
  • Licensed funeral professionals over 65 years old.
  • Licensees who became licensed within one year of the expiration date (after April 1 of the odd numbered year) of the initial license are not required to obtain CE for the initial license period.
  • Hardship, disability, illness, or other circumstances as the board deems appropriate. Please contact the Georgia Board of Funeral Service for more information.
