Required Maryland Funeral Continuing Education Hours

Funeral Director

12-CE hours, including 1 hour in Maryland Pre-Need Law, are required every 2-year license term.

Mortuary Transport

A Mortuary Transporter must complete the following Board approved coursework options:
  • An OSHA or MOSHA training course
  • A course on Blood-borne Pathogens and Infection Control
  • A law course on Health Article §5-513 (The Human Dignity Act)

Maryland Funeral Continuing Education Course Category Restrictions

Licensees must complete 1 hour in Pre-Need Law each renewal cycle. All of the 12 hours required for CE can be satisfied through self-study courses.
