What are the Adjuster Exam Prep Adjuster Exam Prep requirements for Mississippi?

Applicants must complete 20-hours of pre-license education (PLE) for adjuster license.

How to get an insurance adjuster license in Mississippi

  1. Meet the general eligibility criteria
    • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • Reside or maintain a principal place of residence in Mississippi.

  2. Complete required prelicensing education
    • Prepare for the Mississippi State Exam by completing a pre-licensing course of study.
    • To satisfy the requirements for your course, you will need to pass a monitored Exam Prep Course Certification Exam with a 70% or greater.
    • After passing the Exam Prep Course Certification Exam, you will be able to download a PDF Certificate of Completion which is valid for two years from the date of completion; you will need to take and pass your state exam within this timeframe.

  3. Register and pass state licensing exam
    • Make an exam reservation at www.pearsonvue.com/ms/insurance or by calling (866) 407-2057.
    • Bring two forms of current signature identification (a valid driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport, military ID, or employee ID card, credit card).

What are the WebCE Mississippi Adjuster Exam Prep course requirements?

  • Per Mississippi PLE requirements, applicants are required to complete all of the lessons in the pre-license education course sequentially before they can be issued a certificate of completion.
  • Students must pass the closed-book monitored Exam Prep Course Certification exam with a score of 70% or higher.
  • Exam Requirements: Self-Study exams are closed-book and must be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party. The disinterested third party must be minimum age of 18 years old and can be anyone except family members or anyone in whom the monitor instructor has an economic or other interest in assuring the successful outcome of the examination. Co-worker monitors must not be above or below in the student's line of supervision.
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
  • WebCE suggest to then utilize Exam Tutor and Flash Tutor for further practice before your exam day.

What is the process to obtain a non-resident insurance license in Mississippi?

If you are not a Mississippi resident and wish to apply for a Mississippi license, you must complete and submit the Uniform Application for Individual Nonresident License, available at www.sircon.com or at www.nipr.com. For additional assistance, contact the Department to determine the appropriate procedures and requirements.

Nonresident applicants who hold a license in good standing in their resident state that provides the same or similar authority as the Mississippi license sought, and whose state of residence grants non-resident licenses to Mississippi residents on a reciprocal basis, are not required to take the examination. These applicants must submit to Mississippi the NAIC Uniform Application, available at www.sircon.com or at www.nipr.com.

Nonresident adjuster applicants who hold an adjuster DHS license in a nonresident state may apply on a reciprocal basis if the DHS state provides the same or similar authority as the Mississippi license sought and will not be required to take the adjuster exam for the same or similar license authority.

If the authority is not the same, a Mississippi adjuster exam is required to be licensed. The exam can be administered at any Pearson VUE test site. Nonresident applicants requesting to become a Mississippi resident must complete and submit the Uniform Application for Individual License, available at www.sircon.com or at www.nipr.com. You will also need to attach an original Letter of Clearance (no older than 90 days from license expiration). Please contact the Department for questions concerning the Letter of Clearance.
