Required North Dakota CPA CPE Hours

Required CPA CPE Hours for a CPA Licensees in public practice

  • 120 CPE hours over the rolling 3 year period with a minimum 20 hours required per year.

North Dakota CPA CPE Subject Area Requirements

CPA Ethics: 6 hours of ethics CPE are required every 3 years for the period ending 6/30/2022 and all 3-year periods thereafter.

Required CPA CPE Hours for a CPA Licensees NOT in public practice

Effective for the 3 year period 7/1/2019 – 6/30/2022 and every 3 year period thereafter, all CPAs will be required to have the same 120 CPE hours with a minimum of 20 hours required per year.
  • Current Requirement: 60 CPE hours over the rolling 3 year period with a minimum 16 hours required per year.
  • Upcoming Requirement: 120 CPE hours over the rolling 3 year period beginning 7/1/2019 - 6/30/2022 and every 3 year period thereafter. Beginning with the 7/1/2021 period, a minimum of 20 hours required per year.
