What are the Real Estate Continuing Education requirements for Ohio?

All License Types

30 CE hours total

Note: Newly licensed salespersons must complete a 20-hour post-licensing education course within one year of the issuance of their initial license. Newly licensed brokers must complete a 10-hour post-licensing education course within one year of the issuance of their initial license. WebCE does not currently offer post-licensing courses for Ohio.

Are there any subject area requirements for Ohio Real Estate CE?

Brokers

  • Ohio Broker Responsibilities: 3 CE hours
  • Civil Rights: 3 CE hours
  • Core Law: 3 CE hours
  • Canons of Ethics: 3 CE hours
  • Electives: 18 CE hours

Salespersons

  • Civil Rights: 3 CE hours
  • Core Law: 3 CE hours
  • Canons of Ethics: 3 CE hours
  • Electives: 21 CE hours

When does Ohio Real Estate CE have to be completed?

Every three years by the licensee’s birth date.

Can Real Estate CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 3 year license term.

Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

A maximum of 10 hours may be carried over to the next license term. Please note: The 10 hours will be considered elective hours. They will not count toward the 9 required core class hours for salespersons or the 12 required core class hours for brokers.

What is the Ohio Real Estate license renewal process?

All licensees are required to submit proof of completion of their continuing education requirement on a Renewal Application With Education Compliance Form. The form must be signed and submitted along with a copy of the completion certificates. Continuing Education may only be submitted within the 60 days prior to the continuing education due date.

What are the WebCE Ohio Real Estate CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are classified as distance education courses.
  • No licensee shall receive credit for more than eight classroom hours of continuing education instruction taken in any one calendar day.
  • Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 60 percent.
  • Final exams are not required for CE.
  • If the end-of-chapter quiz is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Ohio Real Estate CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

How often does WebCE report Ohio Real Estate CE course completions?

Every business day to the Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Ohio Real Estate CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

What are the Ohio Real Estate CE requirements for non-residents?

All Ohio real estate licensee are required to complete CE for their licensing requirements regardless of their residency.

Are there any CE exemptions?

The following are exempt from Ohio CE requirements:
  • Active licensees over the age of 70 are only required to complete the mandatory CE requirements.
