Minnesota does not require licensing candidates to complete prelicensing education for Adjuster License; however, it is recommended to complete an exam prep course before attempting to take your state’s licensing exam.

1. Meet the general eligibility criteria
   • Be at least 18 years of age.
   • Reside or maintain a principal place of residence in Minnesota.
2. Register and pass state licensing exam
   • Make an exam reservation at www.pearsonvue.com/mn/insurance or by calling (833) 273-1946.
   • Bring two forms of current signature identification (a valid driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport, military ID, or employee ID card, credit card) . Before making an exam reservation applicants should thoroughly review the State of Minnesota Licensing Candidate Handbook. The Candidate Handbook and additional licensing information can be accessed by clicking on the Student Handbook button above.


3. Submit Fingerprint
   • To be licensed as an insurance producer, independent adjuster, public adjuster, or resident real estate appraiser in Minnesota you are required to submit fingerprints for licensing. For your convenience, we suggest that you schedule your fingerprint appointment on the same day as your exam.
     
     Effective October 31, 2022, digital fingerprint appointments will no longer be scheduled through Idemia. Instead, they will be scheduled through Pearson VUE. Please use Pearson VUE to schedule or reschedule all fingerprint appointments going forward.
     
     To schedule your digital fingerprint appointment, please sign into your Pearson VUE account or create a new Pearson VUE account
     
     from this page. Select "Available Exams" and choose "MNFP: MN Department of Commerce Fingerprint Appointment". The fingerprint fee of $67.25 must be paid at the time of the reservation by credit card or debit card.
   
   Currently appointments will be available at the Bloomington, Brooklyn Park, and St. Paul locations. Brainerd, Fargo, Hermantown, and Rochester appointments will be available in the coming days.
   
   
   • Apply for a License
     • After passing the exam, apply for your license by completing an application with Sircon

• Applicants must read each lesson before they can proceed to the next lesson.
• WebCE suggests students pass the Exam Prep Practice exam with a score of 70% or higher.

WebCE does not report exam prep course completions as the Minnesota Insurance Department does not require course completions to be reported.

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after passing the WebCE course exam. Certificates are for personal records and is not required for the state exam.

Non-resident license candidates may obtain a Minnesota producer license, without having to complete the pre-license education requirement or take a license examination, as long as they currently hold an active resident license of a similar type and are in good standing in their home state.
