Very well organized and made easy to understand and prepare for exam.
Excellent course content
MUCH better than another company's materials. Kudos
Thanks was good to have options
This one was a little confusing but I think I have clarity
Need to know more about Malta and CRAT - did a lot of research and guessing
The fraud lesson could have been less wordy and half as long.
This was a fun course. I would provide more examples of people getting caught and the courts penalties, as they are memorable and interesting.
Some of the questions didn't match the correct answer.
EXCELLENT INFORMATION.
Very helpful update for so many new tax rule changes
little pricy for individuals to keep their license active
Informational, very good
I love the courses
Great course!
Thank you.
Really liked course-very interesting stories!
reinforced ideas on auditing.
Question No. 38 on this 45 question exam is not answerable based on the review material presented.
Material did not seem to flow in order. It jumped from one thought to another thought and was hard to follow. However, overall good education.
This year the course was a little harder to go through but was able to again learn more than from where I started. For this reason, I like this course.
Thank you
lots of the questions were not current answers needed to be reinvestigated
two words repeatedly come to mind when doing these modules: regulatory capture
Simply excellent keep up the good work!
Question 34 on the exam was poorly worded. ("All of the above" did not make sense as an answer.) Otherwise, course was very good.
Enjoyed taking the course. It was very informative.
This particular course was taught by an expert in the field using real life examples which made the subject matter more interesting.
Thank You!
Interesting content! Liked the first hand experience. A little outdated in parts because people don't really use cash anymore.
Excellent Course.
Great info. Very eye opening!
One question was about unscrupulous CPAs. In the chapter test promising "free" was the right answer. In the the final test promising "free" prep was the wrong answer. Might be a problem here.
There's an error in the section regarding Social Media Fraudulent Filing and Bad Advice. Appears to be a large typo with text that should have been deleted. Thank you! Great course.
I learned a lot, interesting articles
Course had a lot of repetitive material. Could have been a bit more streamlined.
Very good
Material presented in an informative, interesting way. Kudos for keeping the attention of the reader. Thank you!
The voice used for audio doesn't know about inflection and mispronounces some words which can be distracting.
Great course on fraud
VERY INFORMATIVE
Loved the mention of text in white font. I wouldn't of thought of that. Examples were great
Probably the best CE course I have taken in my 15 years' certification. The real world examples showing the concepts was very helpful.
I feel like the information was very repetitive and wordy. I could have gleaned the same information with 1/10 of the content.
Love the format and the audio. Especially pleased that credits are for both my securities license and my CPA continuing education.
Visual affects can be added
I didn't think a topic could be made interesting, but this instructor kept my attention through the entire session.
loved it
Took longer than 3 1/2 hours to complete
Clear, concise and informative.
When choosing courses, it flagged the ones I had already taken and showed me how many CE credits I had for each area. The pricing is excellent and I like that I can order 24 hours of courses (annual suggested for an EA) for one low price even though the total individual price far exceeded the bundled price.
I enjoyed this course because the material was very interesting
Appreciate the several examples to explain the various accounting treatment situations.
Some of the data is dated.
Interesting but too long
Questions were irrelevant to the financial industry!!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked all the examples and the laid back style of the course writer.
it takes 5 to 6 hours to do a 3.5hour course. a 3.5 hr credit should take 3,5 hours to complete
I am an audio learner & really appreciate the audio provided during this course.-
Excellent Course for finance professionals to study.
I love the fact that it reads to you
I liked the examples given.
There was at least 1 technical issue where the read-aloud audio read a code snippet .
This was likely my favorite course in the last 10 years. I loved the case studies and author's experiences.
This course is a standout due to the emphasis of creativity and "attitude" over arcane auditing procedures.
The audio really helps the learning
Part of required training but did not seem particularly relevant.
This course was interesting but not at all relevant to what I needed for continuing education for my IAR and CFP. I think it has been miscategorized.
while fraud knowledge is extremely important, I didn't see the relevance to the investment industry- could be more industry specific
This course was not only poorly written but so unrelated to my job that I wondered if it was assigned to me in error.
this content really does not apply to IAR's
The personal stories were not necessary.
great course, great learning on this
Thank you!
have used your company for many years. every rep has been knowledgable and polite. phonbes are answered quickly , all good..thank you
THIS COURSE HAD VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY I AM INVOLVED IN.
I did not like the first person style of the material. It seemed wordy and could be made more concise.
Although Fraud has a place in our Continuing Education none of this was pertinent to being a Sales Assistant in the financial industry. Most of it was for the retail sector.
We were required to obtain 6.0 hours of CE. the first course I requested was 3.5 hours due to the interesting topic. But there are no 2.5 hour courses to round out. Still, that is a small thing but something to consider.
long/intense/learned a lot
I was excited about the topic but it was not what i expected. I felt it was more of an overview on general fraud instead of being more industry specific.
Very well written content directly from the horse's mouth. This auditor has seen it all and it shows! Real life examples are always the best teachers. Thanks for the great course!
Course with the Read it to me option took far too long. Content was very good, but it can be done more efficiently.
i thought this course was way too long
The AI voice lulls me to sleep. The content is good, but I kept dozing off. Adding some videos or other delivery methods would be helpful, too.
I love the fact that the author lists lots of live examples to illustrate his points. Very well written & well thought for his sharing of his past work experiences as well as the court cases.
Very detailed examples made understanding helpful.
Of the courses taken so far in this cycle, this course was the most challenging and intriguing. I really enjoyed it.
You need to be an FBI agent, IRS agent, Psychologist, optometrist, neurologist, auditor and an accountant to pass these CE requirements. All I want to be is a Financial Advisor
I copied and pasted all of the footnote for further inquiry. They should be included in the PDF. Really enjoyed the material. Thank you.
I would like to see more practice questions.
I rated the "recommend" question an 8 because I actually WOULD recommend it, but the likelihood of discussing the topic with a colleague is low, since I am low-man-on-the-pole and others probably make other learning choices.
This is probably the best course I have taken on WebCE and I have taken dozens over the year. Very well presented and covered a wide variety of potential issues on fraud.
This course was excellent! I appreciated (1) the engaging writing style, (2) the practical concrete recommendations about procedures to put in place to catch fraud, and (3) most of all the many anecdotes about specific instances of documented fraud (clear and memorable!) So many CE courses look like AI just rearranged info from the Series exams: nothing new, not even particularly coherent. This was a refreshing exception!
I would have wanted a class more relevant to what we do on a daily basis.
I wish you credited the author. This particular course was VERY well-written. I'm a lawyer by background, and fraud detection and prevention is not something I have experience with. I was bracing myself for several hours of boredom but was very pleasantly surprised. I laughed a lot - man, humans!
Questions were hard to understand. Had to read some more than once.
The course was practical and well-written.
I really enjoyed learning about something that might help me in my own business and in advising clients to be on the look out in their businesses.
I prefer face to face educational training.,
I found this course irrelevant for a CFP review
I love the voice over option. It is a very good retention tool.
I know compliance courses are typically very dry but this one kept my rapt attention. It was written from the perspective of someone that has been in the business of fraud detection for many years. That direct experience really showed through in the writing and kept my attention. Main issue for me is how long the course was. I have been going through the material in 1-hour blocks once per week, so it took a while for me to complete. The material was great though, and I would recommend it to my colleagues.
Very interesting if I was to go into the Fraud Prevention arena but I am in financial arena and we have more specific training, for example Money laundering. This was interesting as I said and informative. I did learn from it.
Material was relevant and comprehensive.
well presented
Text didn't seem formatted appropriately; either too big to git on screen or too small to read. Very frustrating.
Practice questions are very useful.
WebCE for me is always highest quality
There was some good story-telling, but it was hard to stay focused later in the course due to length. Some sections were very relevant to my role and others were distractingly far from my role. I would recommend finding ways to break this training out for different types of industry roles. Applicable and practical content will be more impactful and engaging.
thank you
Surprisingly useful and informative course - the instructor demonstrated his love and mastery of the subject matter.
This course was excellent. It was written very well.
In my opinion, the discussion in "6.5--False Vendors", in which the author dismisses pressure as a necessary element of fraud, represents a flawed understanding--and mischaracterization--of the fraud triangle.
Excellent course! No improvement needed!
Sounds like a marine wrote the fraud detection course, oo-rah! Fantastic course, and well written.
This type of Fraud does not apply to the Financial Industry
course has many personal anecdotes, It may be helpful in making it more interactive but I feel like it could be shortened by a great amount of time if the information was presented in a straightforward manner without a bunch of personal references and anecdotes. Some of the anecdotes were helpful, but should probably be defined as examples in list form, that part was helpful. but, reading it in a story format does help.
I liked the many examples of fraud that were presented in the course. This heightened my awareness of what to look out for when experiencing fraud situations.
easy to follow
This course is mainly focused on issues outside my financial advisor role. I expected material to help my clients avoid or detect fraud
3 hours of CE credit should not mean 6 hours of reading!
Stories and anecdotes; nothing more
Great course for any financial professional, especially those interested in Fraud Risk Management and Accounting principles.
Should include more modern-day examples of how frauds are committed in the current hi-tech environment and electronic processing of transactions.
The overall course was basic in nature. It didn't appear to be built around Investment Advisors and potential fraud they might encounter.
I have taken many courses through WebCE. This one was thorough and educational. It was also nicely constructed as far as being interesting with good flow. However, it was about three times too long. The same points could have been made in much less read time. Remember, this is one of many CE courses required. Just being honest. Thanks
It was great!
This course was the most informative information that I have received in quite some time. It was also very interesting. It has changed how I look at fraud.
great course
Informative course.
The content was unneccessarily wordy and long. To keep it succinct would have been an improvement.
not a great topic.
This course was totally inappropriate for a financial advisor. It was not what I expected. It was more appropriate for a business class.
Course content helped me to better understand the topics.
In addition to being helpful, it was actually entertaining. Nice surprise. Maybe this helped me get 100%.
Of all the WebCe courses I have participated in over the last few years, this is by far my favorite! The quality of the content was great and very interesting; I found myself really enjoying the author's view and language use. It was a great read! Thank you, Dawn Daniels
Engaging. Very well written.
It was mostly stories; seemed more appropriate for someone who was actually an accountant; some questions were confusing - ex. which statement would not be true, etc. it was boring b/c it was story after story after story...
Easy of use & Quality of content is excellent. Thank you.
Good course with real life examples
Good Course - a little long but The CE requirements require more material.
Very interesting content.
you ask a financial planner to take a class on auditing a shoe company? wth?
Course seems geared towards management, auditors, and accountants more than financial advisors/planners. It really isn't very relevant to normal financial advisor situations
It was a very good course. thank you
timely glad you added
i liked that the content was written from a real-world perspective. the stories made it more interesting & easier to stay engaged in the content.
This course lacked significant relevance to my industry and the author constructed course content far too much around himself/his experience.
The wording on the question about what NOT to advise the neighbor is quite tricky in its wording. My answer "C" Read: 'ignore the letter from IRS.' Is this patently incorrect, or can it be worded better? Can you give me CREDIT for this answer? Thanks!
I really liked the examples.
This course was very interesting and well written.
I like this author’s use of real fraud cases to explain or emphasize a point.
The historical fact based examples of fraud were very helpful and relevant. These examples increased my awareness far more than just reviewing concepts of fraud. Thank you!
Wonderfully helpful in understanding fraud. A helpful hint for improvement: The narratives could be written more clearly. I found some of the sentence structures to be somewhat awkward and forgive me for being picky. I appreciate the knowledge you are sharing with us. :)
Very good real-life examples. Chapters covered a lot of relevant and diverse areas. A high-quality course.
Outstanding course material, examples extremely helpful. Read as if it were a great non-fiction book
The PDF was not very helpful. I could not find most of the answers.
This is the best course on fraud that I have ever taken ! I loved it, and the author of the course is absolutely superb !
Fantastic fraud examples and material
THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT COURSE / THANKS
The course material was well organized, detailed, and clear. The visual aids were extremely helpful as examples to illustrate the concepts discussed.
