Every year the instances of money laundering that is caught increase by 14.3 percent. By way of example, the number of cases was 1001 in 2022 and 1132 the next year. Perhaps more alarming is the fact that money laundering costs between $800 billion and $2 trillion annually. Also increasing is the length of prison terms handed out to those found to have committed money laundering crimes. It’s a nasty business.
