This course introduces risk management and insurance concepts for construction projects. It covers using insured status as a risk transfer technique, terms and conditions of construction insurance, and complex issues like “other insurance” concerns, CGL endorsements, completed operations, third-party-over suits, and relevant caselaw.

  • identify standard reasons why indemnitees seek additional insured status under their indemnitors’ insurance policies
  • recognize the drafting history and current coverage provisions of standard CGL endorsement CG 20 10
  • recognize the legal principles that are applied to the interpretation of standard additional insured endorsements
  • identify issues affecting insured status under builders risk insurance, particularly steps to be taken in avoiding subrogation
