Overview

Health care costs are a growing part of the U.S. economy, affecting households, businesses, and government agencies. Inflation in health care costs pressures businesses offering insurance benefits. This course covers basic and major medical expenses, disability, long-term care, AD&D, workers’ compensation, Medicare, and Medigap. It discusses health insurance provision, utilization, regulation (COBRA, HIPAA, ACA), and the taxation of premiums and benefits. It also explains tax-advantaged medical expense payment methods like HSAs and HRAs.
