Overview
This course provides a comprehensive look at how pre-need contracts are regulated in Maryland, including who can sell pre-need contracts, the required provisions that must be included, and the requirements for depositing pre-need funds into escrow or trust accounts. It also examines pre-need sellers' disclosure obligations and a buyer's right to terminate the agreement. The course concludes with a chapter on how life insurance and annuity contracts may be used to fund pre-need contracts and when irrevocable trusts can be created.
This course meets Maryland's one-hour pre-need law mandatory course requirement.
