Wisconsin Long-Term Care 4-Hour Training

Overview

Over the past 40 years, long-term care insurance has expanded from simple nursing home coverage to covering care in assisted living facilities and in an individual’s own home. Policies have become more broad-based and now offer more benefits than ever before. With the aging of the baby boom generation and the cost of health care continually rising, the issue of long-term care (LTC) is of major importance to both consumers and policymakers.

Designed for producers who must meet Wisconsin's ongoing 4-hour training requirement for long-term care and long-term care insurance, the course details today's long-term care insurance policies, including common features, provisions, options, and limitations. Qualified long-term care partnerships are explained, as are the requirements for policies that may be used in conjunction with these programs. The course examines the ethical and suitability issues producers may face when offering long-term care insurance and concludes with a unit on Wisconsin 's Medicaid and partnership programs.

This course has been approved to meet Wisconsin’s ongoing 4-hour training requirement for licensed producers who sell long-term care insurance.
