Minnesota Medical Assistance Program

Overview

This course was developed to provide the state-specific portion of Minnesota's 8-hour long-term care producer training requirement. It is intended primarily for nonresident Minnesota producers who have completed a general course of study on long-term care, long-term care insurance, and the basics of partnership programs, but need training that is specific to Minnesota's Medical Assistance (MA) program.

Students are advised that this course alone does not cover the full 8-hour training Minnesota requires for the sale of long-term care insurance. (For this purpose, WebCE offers the state-approved Medical Assistance Eligibility and the Minnesota Long-Term Care Partnership Program.)

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will understand:

  • the rules relating to eligibility for Medical Assistance payment of long-term care services in Minnesota;
  • the interaction between Medical Assistance and the Minnesota LTC Partnership program; and
  • how individuals can apply for Medical Assistance
