This course provides an overview of South Dakota's long-term care Medicaid program and how it relates to the state's long-term care partnership program. It is intended to offer a core aspect of the 8-hour training necessary to sell long-term care insurance in South Dakota and is intended for both resident and non-resident producers who need specific training on South Dakota Medicaid.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• describe the South Dakota Long-Term Care Partnership program
• understand the benefits this program offers to South Dakota residents
• cite the general eligibility criteria for South Dakota long-term care Medicaid and the payment of long-term care services
• understand the relationship between the state's Medicaid program and its Long-Term Care Partnership program
