2024 Colorado Annual Commission Update

Overview

Each year, the Colorado Division of Real Estate develops the Colorado Annual Commission Update Course to provide important information about recent regulatory changes and practice issues that affect Colorado real estate licensees. This four-hour course meets the mandatory course requirement for Colorado broker continuing education. It provides an overview of regulatory and Commission changes that impact the real estate industry, including rule changes, law revisions, and form and contract updates. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • identify the most common license law violations and sanctions
  • describe how to avoid potential charges of unworthy, incompetent practice
  • identify and properly disclose material facts
  • describe the types, purposes, and impacts of various contingencies related to transactions and the Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate
  • discuss tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities related to recent legislation
  • discuss the use of artificial intelligence in real estate practice
  • discuss property use of fiduciary accounts
  • describe the purpose and use of Commission Disbursement Authorization forms
  • discuss types, pros, and cons of alternative buyer financing methods
  • list and describe the primary changes made to standard forms related to taxing districts, radon, and other recent legislative changes
