Bloodborne Pathogens

Overview

Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms in human blood that can cause disease. Funeral professionals must comply with OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens standard and develop an exposure control plan to minimize or eliminate exposure. This course provides an overview of the OSHA standard, describes various bloodborne pathogens and their signs, and instructs on proper cleaning and response to incidents. It also covers recordkeeping techniques for compliance.
