Overview

It's vital that Virginia licensees understand both federal and Virginia fair housing laws to ensure they provide equitable housing opportunities to all individuals seeking housing. This course reviews pertinent court cases that highlight discrimination based on protected class status, prohibited actions such as redlining, blockbusting, and steering, and guidelines for advertising properties in compliance with fair housing laws. The course also reviews the Americans with Disabilities Act , services animals, and penalties for violating fair housing laws.

This course meets the two-hour CE requirement on fair housing for Virginia licensees.

Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:
